Chapter 1

Chapter 1      

     This spring breeze coming in always reminds me of going to the ocean as a young pup with my family, but sadly now it also blows in sadness. I lost my mom and dad when I fifteen almost sixteen, so I had to become the guardian of my little brother who was only five I wasn’t going to send him to some unknown pack that I don’t know, also I should tell you alittle about myself my name is Elizabetha Williams and I am a werewolf. 

     “Ryan!!” I called for my brother I was in the kitchen making his favorite breakfast Oreo pancakes, I hear his feet tumbling down the stairs as fast as he can cause he knows what I’m cooking. “Lizzy you made my favorite!!” He exclaimed, Ryan is now seven and I am seventeen it’s been two years without our parents, my parents left our original pack Lunar Forest when I was very young my parents always said it was to keep me safe from rouges which I never understood till...

      ~~Flashback~~

      Just a normal day for my mom Annie and I, my brother was inside with my dad Zander always under his feet we were outside soaking up the warm spring weather when my mom became unsteady she ran to me grabbed my arm and took me inside as fast as she could, she sprayed me with sent masking spray which I never understood why she would always do that then took my brother and I down to our basement safe house where she came inside only for a moment to say “Lizzy I’m gonna need you to take care of your brother, he’s gonna need you, your father and I are gonna keep you safe but I just need you to remember one thing you are a Lunar wolf, I love you both.” She kissed us then handed me the key to lock the door. My brother and I were never scared being in here we always were taught it’s a safe place but I just have a bad feeling about this time.

      Our parents never returned, at that time I didn’t have my wolf Isabella or Bella for short so I never understood what happened or where they went, I never found traces of blood, I found paw prints but those just stopped as well it was like my parents were taken out of thin air. With my parents being gone I’ve had to step up and be everything for Ryan, I don’t mind my mom was already teaching me how to care for Ryan and everything before they disappeared I feel like she always knew something would happen I just wish I knew what and why.

       After Ryan finished he ran upstairs to go play with his toys, we are very blessed by my parents and the moon goddess to have our own house, money, everything we needed right here my parents knew what they were doing, we owned a two story four bedroom house it’s a Victorian style looking house it’s light blue with white accents and trim all around the house and a white wrap around deck with a build in porch swing out front sitting on two hundred acres so we would have privacy and be left alone, we also have a big red barn with four horses I know what your thinking horses and werewolves how does that work well for some reason it does but I’ve always had a love and passion for them even as a young child so my parents always spoiled me with whatever I wanted! We are very lucky and my parents took care of everything when it comes to my brother and I’s life they made sure that our horses will always have hay, feet trimming, a vet and more. Once a year a werewolf who works in the town we live in who my parents trusted comes and fixes anything that needs to be done, we also get food delivery’s right to our door step which makes mine and Ryan’s life easier. Once in a blue moon we go to town to get miscellaneous items that we want or need but we really try to avoid leaving to keep not only myself safe but Ryan safe I could never live with myself if something happened to my little brother. 

          Today is the anniversary of when our parents disappeared, and I alway think back to what she told me that I am a Lunar Wolf, which means that I am special I will have special powers, and be able to do incredible things, for me my wolf came to me when I turned seventeen but I won’t shift till I’m eighteen from what Bella tells me, my birthday is right around the corner so very soon I’ll be able to meet my wolf and be able to keep us safe, I’ve thought about going back to a pack but why up root my brother from everything he knows. 

             Listening to Ryan playing upstairs makes me smile and happy, I homeschooled my brother so I can keep him safe, I finished my schooling last year I didn’t want to drag out the inevitable so might as well get it done sooner instead of later, after sitting out on the porch for an hour I get up and walk inside to do the dishes might as well not put it off otherwise it will never get done. When everything is clean and wiped down I go into the living room to take a nap and relax. 

*knock* *knock* *knock* 

                I wake up startled hearing someone knock on our door almost no one knocks on our door, Bella is pacing in my head anxiously, I go to the door and open it slowly, “Hello” says a young man at the door who to me is very handsome with short dark brown hair, one blue eye and one green eye, with very refined square features with cheek and jaw bones that could cut through anything, he’s wearing a cowboy hat, a black tank top, a blue button down shirt left open, wrangler blue jeans, and beat up cowboy boots, he looks to be about my age, “hi can I help you?” I retort back quietly, he looks me up and down quickly before saying “I’m sorry to be bothering you miss my family and I just moved in down the road my parents were wondering if you had any extra butter we could have? We haven’t had a chance to go to the store yet.” I look at him hesitantly but nod “I’ll go grab you some one moment please” I close the door and walk to the fridge to grabs a few sticks of butter to give them, I can smell that he’s a werewolf but why would his family be out here without a pack, I saw moving trucks earlier but didn’t think much of it, I grab a grocery bag that I keep under the sink and put the butter in it and walk back to the door, I open the door reach out and hand him the bag our fingers touch for a split second and I swear I felt a tingle but didn’t saying anything, he looks at me and says “thank you I’m so sorry to have bothered you my name is Wilder Ren Octavius” I look at him shyly and say “my name is Elizabetha but you can call me Lizzy and your welcome don’t worry about bringing any butter back we have plenty” I say quietly “Elizabetha....Lizzy” he tests my name and I find it intriguing but nod my head and close my door slowly. He stands their for a few seconds then walks away, I release a big breath that I didn’t realize I had been holding in, that was interesting I never expected anyone new to move here as far as I knew all our neighbors with the few we had they had no plans on moving we are gonna have to lay low and stay safe sense we have no idea who these people are. 

            The next day Ryan and I are outside spending time with our horses he’s come to love horses just as much as I do, so it brings me so much joy to watch him work with his horse Rocket watching him groom him, saddle him, lunge him, and ride him, just brings me so much happiness I’m in the middle of riding around the arena on one of our new horses Celest waiting for Ryan to get on Rocket when a car pulls up beside me a young woman gets out that looks a lot like the young man Wilder from yesterday even thinking his name give me butterfly’s I’ve never felt like this before but I shake the thoughts from my head as she gets out and walks towards the arena fence “Hi hun my name is Marie I’m Wilders mother I just wanted to say thank you so much for the butter and wanted to ask if you need anything from in town I’d love to repay the favor,” she says sweetly and motherly towards me I shake my head no and say “No thank you we are fine but thank you for the offer the butter was no big deal we get food delivered every month” I respond back shyly she notices how shy I am and says “You don’t need to be scared or shy about us I understand we are new but I know we are the same kind” she states matter of factly I tense knowing I forgot to put on my masking spray today “Please don’t tell anyone...” my voice cracks as I put my head down in shame she looks startled that I started to cry Marie starts to coo and shush me “Sweetie it’s ok I won’t say anything I promise” she says sweetly and soothingly I look at her with watery eyes and nod soon enough my brother comes trotting over on rocket and says “hi I’m Ryan” Marie smiles and says “hello Ryan I’m Marie I have a daughter who is about your age her name is Rieka I bet she would love to learn to ride if you two and your parents are ok with it” I tense hearing the word parents.

       How am I gonna explain we have no parents it’s not uncommon for werewolves to be without one parent but both is unheard of.

I look at Marie and say “We haven’t had parents in two years I’m my brothers guardian” I deadpan I see the blood drain from Marie’s face and she covers her mouth I look at her again and say “please don’t worry about us we are fine my parents left us well off and I do my moms job online to keep money incoming just in case” I say with a sigh Marie looks at me and say “Okay I don’t know how I feel about this but I don’t really have a say in your life how old are you sweetheart?” She asks me I look at her and say “I’ll be eighteen on June twelfth” lucky for me that’s only a few days away. She nods her head and says “It was nice speaking with you Lizzy my son told me your name if you are ok with it I’d like to come and chat some more soon” she looks at me longingly I sit there contemplating and finally nod my head yes, she gets into her car and drives off. 

           After Marie left Ryan and I finished up our ride and went inside I made him a sandwich and he went up to his room to eat and play video games, while I sat on the couch and read some erotica novels I had hidden away reading is my get away from the world and erotica novels are my favorite even though I’ve never gotten to experince any of the things I read about I always find myself day dreaming of what my life will possibly be like in the future.
