I was walking back to my room from Celeste’s when I bumped into Charles. He was freshly washed, dressed and he had a certain bounce to his step.
He looked up at me and then to the giant clock on the wall.
“It’s almost midnight. Should I even ask where you were?” He asked me with his eyebrows raised.
I grinned thinking back to my last couple of hours with Celeste. We had run off to her room to get time alone. I had just left her room and left her sweaty, panting and flushed. And left her dress, chemise, shoes and hair pins all over the room.
“Arthur please be careful.”
I nodded. “No worries, I am. Plus, you two aren’t getting married anymore.”
“That doesn’t give you two freedom to be reckless.”
“Her birthday is 3 days away Charles. Ease up.”
