Varian shifted, and his back touched something firm but soft. He turned his head and his eyes fluttered open and looked at it; it was an unfamiliar couch. He rubbed his eyes and sat down; the blanket that was over his shoulders fell to his waist. He looked around and could not recognize the place; it was strange. "Where am I?" he asked and felt his head throbbing badly. "How much did I drink?" he added, taking the blanket off his leg and standing up. He walked to the entrance and stood there, looking out of the room. Judging from the structure, this was the second floor of a building. "You are awake already?" He heard Ellen's voice, and he turned his head sideways until he watched her as she walked to him. He squinted because he could see her frame but was unable to make out anything fro
