Seducing The Cold-hearted Beta

Chapter 1 : Aliyah's POV The loud sound of the alarm woke me up from my sleep, making me realize that it was another day. I was so excited and at the same time nervous because I was returning back to my pack today. For years, I've been away from the Silver Night pack, which was led by my brother, the Alpha. I grew up with my grandma here in Germany. My brother, Geraldine, has been ruling the pack as the Alpha for over eight years. I was ten years old when he was sworn in as Alpha. Our parents died many years ago. Our father, the previous Alpha, died in a fight with an enemy while my mother couldn't withstand the heartbreak of losing him, and she died after a brief illness. I was a little pup then, and everything was going wrong with our pack. Our enemies attacked, but with the help from our uncles, my brother was able to keep our pack in check and rebuild it. However, my grandmother took me with her. During these past few years, I've grown around humans. Although the feeling isn't the same as being raised by my parents. Sometimes, I do miss them a lot. Here in Germany, there's barely any werewolves except a few of my schoolmates, and they belonged to the same pack. My friend from high school, Valerie, was able to find her mate from her pack and also Nina, and they explained to me how beautiful it was– finding a mate and losing your virginity to him. It was a good feeling and I hope to meet mine too. I was very excited to go back to New York City, back to our pack, as I've missed everyone there, especially my best friend, Mira. I haven't been there in years. I have just graduated from high school, and I got admission to a college in New York. Tomorrow, I will turn eighteen and my brother will organize a coming-of-age party for me. Hopefully, I will find my mate at the party. At the same time, I wondered what it's like to have a mate. How would the relationship grow? What would he think of me? Would he accept me or reject me? As I began to wonder about these probabilities, I heard my grandmother's voice yell out from the living room. "Aliyah, you have a phone call from Gerald," I was busy arranging my luggage in my bedroom. I instantly stood up and ran outside to get the telephone before the ring stopped. "Hello, brother," I greeted calmly, but the excitement could be detected from my voice. "Aliyah, my girl." Gerald spoke. He was equally excited to speak to me. "My flight is in an hour." I revealed it to him. "Please do not stay long. I wouldn't want you having to sleep in a hotel tonight, " He explained to me, and I agreed. I strolled back to my room to finish packing up. Soon, grandma came to my room. "Nervous?" She asked, moving towards me as she took a seat on the bed. I paused my actions and stared at her. She suddenly pulled me in for a hug. "It'll be fine, Aliyah, I trust the moon goddess has a good plan for you." I said, trying to comfort me. "Thank you, Nana," I said. "I'm going to miss you, my little bud. Please make sure to visit with your mate when you find him, " Grandma teased. Shortly, I left the house and boarded a taxi, leaving for the airport. After the next eight hours, I arrived in New York City. I called my brother in order to inform him about my arrival. He offered to send one of his men to drive me to the pack house. The ride was long but smooth, and I was able to rest my head a bit, too. Upon arriving at the packhouse, I noticed that there was a small gathering. What was I expecting? I was the sister of their Alpha, and they were meant to celebrate my arrival. My brother, alongside his Luna and other pack members, welcomed me warmly. Soon, I was shown my bedroom, and I settled in. I declined eating dinner as I felt air sick. After an hour my brother came to visit me in my room. "How are you feeling now, Aliyah?" He asked me as he took a seat on my bed. "Tired. You know I hate travelling, " I reminded him. Even though my brother and I didn't live together, I always called and informed him about everything. He knew that I hated travelling, especially by flight. "Don't worry, Aliyah. You'll be fine after you rest, " He assured me. "Sleep now, tomorrow is going to be a long day," He revealed to me before leaving the room. I watched as his figure faded away and he closed the door. I wrapped myself in the blanket, filled with thoughts about his last words to me. Tomorrow is indeed going to be a very long day for me– because I had to find my mate. I could barely sleep that night, clouded with the thoughts of who my mate would be. Morning came quickly, and I was awakened by the first Ray of Sun that found its way inside my room. I stood up and walked barefooted to the window, gazing outside to see how the villa looked during the daytime. It's been eight years since I left, and a lot of things have changed during those eight years. I watched the servants carry out their duties as they decorated the garden. My brother was going to host my coming-of-age party in the garden, which was my most favourite place. I loved flowers, and I wanted them to be around me at all times. My brother was aware of that, so he chose the garden as my birthday location. A gentle knock sounded on the door, and I let whoever it was to come in. It was Anita, my brother's mate and the Luna of our pack. She came to me and gave me a brief hug after we exchanged greetings. She was a very kind and beautiful woman and we spoke to each other on the phone sometimes. I got to meet her in person last night after my brother introduced us. I apologized to her for not attending their wedding, and she told me not to worry that she understood. "You're nervous, right?" She asked me. I guess that it was obvious to her. The anxiety was written all over my face. I nodded in response, and she pulled me closer for a hug. "Don't be. I believe that you'll be fine." She reassured me. Luna Anita stayed in my room for an extra hour, helping me pick what I was going to wear. After so many choices, we finally came to a conclusion that we made together. Luna Nita lent me her red short satin dress, which she thought matched my skin. It was the same dress she wore on her first date with my brother. She thought that it had GoodLuck because her relationship with my brother has grown stronger ever since. In the meantime, I remained in my room, awaiting my fate on that evening when my birthday party commenced. My brother had been so busy with organizing the party that day— he didn't come to see me before the time arrived. He only contacted me through mind-link, telling me not to be nervous tonight that even if I don't find my mate, he would hook me up with someone. I smiled at his silly suggestions because I wasn't that desperate. It was just a normal feeling to get anxious at events like this. Soon, I put my makeup on and wore the red dress that fitted me perfectly. I know that Luna Nita and I had almost the same body type, but I was curvier than her. I stepped down to attend the party in the garden, and my entrance was acknowledged by my brother, and he introduced me to the guests at the party. Meanwhile, my eyes went around the place in search of my mate. My wolf was also eager to find her mate too. "Come Aliyah, you must meet someone." My brother beckoned to me, and I followed him quickly. "Meet Alpha Reynold of Blue Night pack." "Alpha Reynold, meet my sister, Aliyah." He introduced us briefly. Alpha Reynold took my hand and placed a soft kiss on it. I was delighted, and I greeted him back. I turned to realize that my brother had left us alone to talk. "Nice to meet you, Aliyah," he said, "The pleasure is mine, Alpha," I replied. He took my hand and we danced for a moment. I still surveyed around, searching for my mate, whom I was yet to find. This was devastating! We were still dancing when a sharp and delicious scent caught my nose, sending a thrilling feeling down my spine. I stopped dancing immediately. "Excuse me, please, I need to use the bathroom," I said to him, and he let me leave. I began to trail the scent, which obviously belonged to my mate. It led me to an enclosed direction which was far from the garden and soon, I saw him. A handsome, young werewolf, my mate!. He gazed at me, and I smiled at him. "Mate!" Our wolves growled in unison.
