Jayds POV

We walk outside and I’m very hesitant to be alone with her. I had so much anger built up I didn’t know if I wanted to choke this lady or just cuss her out.

“Look you don’t have to do this. We’re at my baby shower for Christ sakes.” I start she puts her hand up

“He’s right.” My eyebrows shot up.

“I know I know. I should apologized long before your due date.” I sighed

“I mean thank you I guess.”

“Jayd we were on such good terms I don’t know what happened.”

“You started talking about me to Tammy.” I said with a bit of an attitude “you ran my name threw the mud.” I continued

A silence passed between us

“Jayd I’m so sorry.” She says hugging me I didn’t realize I was crying until she wiped my tears away “I didn’t know we meant so much to you. I wish I could take it all back.” She was sincere I could hear it in her voice.

“You will always be apart of this family.”

“Thank you.” I reply gathering myself

We go back to baby shower and for once everything seemed ok...

Sean’s POV

Once the baby shower was over we headed home.

Lots of gifts had been received.

I was unloading the car when Chris and Tammy pulled up.

I got pissed instantly

“Yo! “ I call out to Chris waving him over.

“What’s up?”

“What was that at the baby shower?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Nigga it’s like you knew she was gonna say no.”

“Bro everyone knew she was gonna say no. I would have said no to.”

“Don’t be a dick.” I sighed

“Says the d**k!” He slaps me upside the head

“I thought she would have said yes.” I sighed

“What the hell made you think that?” He asked helping me bring gifts to the house

“We’ve been really good I figured this was my chance.”

“Dude she’s pregnant not stupid. You gotta come harder than that. You know Jayd by now.”

“Yeah I know, but still.” I sighed

“Get your s**t together bro. She’s a decent girl. And I’m not just saying that cause im your brother. I’m rooting for y’all but she has a big heart don’t force her away.” He says I just nodded and we kept unloading gifts.

“Have you thought about moving out?”

“Actually I already have a place.” Chris stumbles a bit

“Get out.”

“I get keys on the 15th. Hopefully he’s born before then.”

“I think he’ll be here by than.” Chris agreed

Jayds POV

4weeks later

Today was finally the day!

I was 4 days over due but my water had finally broke and I was on my way to the hospital from school . Sean and I were in a really good spot even tho I reject his proposal

I should have know the baby would come when I least expected and I didnt know the signs of labor until my mom hounded me with questions about my last few days being pregnant

I was in the back of an ambulance with some classmates following behind in my car and theirs since my hospital bag and car seat was in My camery.

I thought labor would be more intense but I was literally chilling right now.

“You doing alright?” The medic asked a little concern showing on his face

“Surprisingly I’m very calm.” I smile he laughed

“You are the happiest and calmest person I have ever seen in labor.” I laughed

“Well I’m 4 days over due. He was supposed to be here on the 6th.” (It’s March right now)

“Awww the lil guy just needed some time.”

“He had 9 whole months.” I say glaring at my stomach.

He was so stubborn just like his daddy. He would kick during ultrasounds and move around a lot. We still hadn’t agreed on a name

I pull my phone out and search for ‘douchebag’ at the same time he calls.

I answer

‘Hello?’

‘Why didn’t you call me!? What hospital are they taking you to?’

‘Actually I was jut about to call you. Southern regional. It’s the closest to my school.’ Ok now contractions were starting to hurt

‘Jayd!’

‘Boy if you don’t stop yelling at me. I just had a contraction.’

‘How long have you had them?’ Sean asked I hear him get in the car

‘The last few days but they weren’t close together. This morning tho everything hurt like hell’ I admit

‘I’m on the way!’ I hang up. We arrive to the hospital and nurses and doctors are on me in seconds. The medic gives the run down and they immediately take me up to a room

“Do you have family we should call?” The nurse asked as they helped me into the bed

“The father knows and he’s calling everyone for me.”

“Ok hun. We gonna get you in a gown now is that ok?”

Before I could answer another contraction came and I could only nodded...

4 hours in

Everyone was here by now and I was annoyed because we still had no baby

Sean was by my side holding my hand allowing me to squeeze as needed and I was only 8cm dilated

“Can we please walk around or something I can’t lay here in pain.” I asked he nodds and helps me get up...

“f**k come on lil boy.” I mutter rocking side to side as Sean holds my arm and we being to pace the room

“You doing alright?” Sean asked nervously

“ better I just couldn’t lay there” He nodds and we walk

The next contraction hit me like a ton of bricks and I could only cry as I hunch over my swollen belly.

“That’s enough walking.” My mom says coming to my other side

“No.” I moaned in pain

“Jayd get your ass in the bed.” My mom fusses I sighed and nodded my consent

She presses the nurse call button

“What’s going on?”

“Please tell me it’s time to push.” She grabs some jelly and inserts her hand

“Not yet only at 9.” I sighed and threw my head back against the bed

“To late for an epidural.” My mom says

“I know ma.” I hissed in pain as another contraction came

7hours in

It’s been 7 hours and still not time to push I been 9 cm for the longest

“Alright Ms Kelly. It should be time.” The doctor says as he and a team of nurses come in

“About time!” I moaned, Sean dabbed the sweat from around my face I was kinda glad he was here even tho I wanted to kill him.

“Who stays ?”

“Me and her mom.” Sean answers everything was happening so fast

Sean’s POV

7 hours in and it was time for her to push. We kicked everyone but her mom out.

“Alright on the next contraction a big push. Scream yell cuss if you have to!” The doctor says.

The next contraction came and Jayd pushed

“Alright good breathe.”

“I can’t do this!” Jayd moans

“Baby He here now.” Her mom says soothing her hair

“f**k !”

“Alright push again on the next contraction and we’re gonna count to 5”

“1...2...3...4...5. Good breath.”

“You’re doing amazing !” She smiles weakly at me holding my hand

“He’s crowning. Good... next contraction big push.”

“He’s almost here don’t give up.” I whisper sweetly soothing her hair

She pushed one last time and he was here.

“That’s it!”

“You did it baby!” Her Mom cheers. I kiss her hand and they place him on her chest and Jayd becomes the biggest cry baby.

“He’s beautiful.” I smile with pride

“Dad you want to cut the cord?” I nodded they hand me some scissors and show me where to cut... after a few mins that take him to weigh him and get him cleaned up...

2 hours later...

“Awww Jayd He’s gorgeous.” Tammy says rocking him. I was sitting in the bed with Jayd

she was tired.

“Thank you Tammy.” I smiled with pride.

“I can’t believe we made him.” I kiss Jayds hand

“I know right.” She smiles at me

“Names yet?”

“Actually yeah.” I say shocking everyone

“Remember That one name?” I asked Jayd

“Carter Blake?” She asked shocked I nodded and she smiled

“I love it!” My mom says as it was her turn to hold him.

The nurse knocks

“Come in.” Jayd says

“Just checking in.”

“When can I shower?”

“You ready to get up?” Jayd nodds

“It just feels so ehhh down there I need to clean up.” The nurse laughs

“Definitely understandable I’ve had 4 myself.” She says her and Jayd carry on into the bathroom.

“Can I hold my son now?”I asked my mom

“Here. He so chunky” I smile picking him up.

He was such a beautiful baby.

My heart swelled

“I can’t believe your here.” I whisper to him “I promise I’ll protect you and your mom” I kiss his little cheek

“Awww, Sean!” I can hear them snapping pictures.

“I’m proud of you son.” Dad says putting a hand on my shoulder and I swear I could see tears in his eyes feeling my own eyes water.

“It’s ok to cry son.” He says and the tears flowed freely.

“Dad, I can’t believe I’m a dad now.” He smiles

“Son it’s gonna be ok.”

“I hope so dad...”

I smiled down at my son wiping my tears.
