CHAPTER SIX: CONTINUED

CHAPTER SIX CONTINUED:

Aria said "okay." Then Toby kissed her on her cheek. And she drove off. They got to Nashville, Tennessee. They stopped at a motel. They got inside and Aria called Toby to tell him where they were, and she was coming back to fill out applications. So he told her that coming up to see her and her sister to make sure they were okay. They got off the phone. Aria took Tonya out to a restaurant called Sonic. They ate their food and went back to the motel. Aria said "Tonya go and get into the shower." So Tonya did. Tonya got out and asked Aria to brush her hair, so she did. Aria said "hey tomorrow, I'm going back into town to fill out applications so I can get a job, so I can provide for you and me. So stay here, don't answer the door for anyone. I have a key and you will have a key. Okay."

Tonya said "okay." They fell asleep. Then there was a knock at the door in the middle of the night. Aria woke up to see who it was. It was Toby. Aria opened the door and Toby came in. Toby was freaking out because he was worried about her because she was all alone with her little sister without any protection. So his dad allowed him to go with them to help Aria. Aria put him in the bed she was sleeping in. Toby said "Aria, you stay in the same bed, you don't have to move."

Aria said "okay, but I'm sleeping on top of the blankets." Toby nodded his head yes and Aria laid down next to Toby. Toby put his arm around her. They held hands and they fell asleep. The next morning, Aria woke up and Tonya was staring at them. Aria saw they were still there the way they fell asleep. Tonya asked "is he going to be my new brother in law?"

Aria said "I don't know. Maybe if he asks me to marry him, then he will be." Toby woke up and saw that they were still holding hands and he smiled. Then he got up on one arm and said "good morning Tonya and Aria."

Tonya said "good morning Toby."

Aria said "good morning. I have to get into the shower."

Toby said "okay." Then she got up and went into the bathroom and hopped right into the shower. Tonya was looking at Toby. Toby said "Tonya, why are you looking at me?"

Tonya said "this is going to be a little weird and I have a mind filled with questions. But are you going to ask Aria to marry you? Because I want you as a brother to me."

Toby replied "I was thinking about it. But it is a little bit early. It has only been a few weeks since we got to know each other. But please don't tell her that I am thinking about it please." Aria came out in a towel to get her clothes.

Aria asked "tell me what?"

Tonya said "um, what he watches on the tv."

Aria said "okay." Then went back into the bathroom and Toby's mouth was still open.

Tonya said "Toby, Toby." Then he looked at Tonya and said "Thank you Tonya." Tonya and Toby were talking for five minutes. Aria came out of the bathroom again and she was already.

Aria said "I saw your mouth drop when I came out of the bathroom in a towel and Tonya, do you know what I was going to do today?"

Tonya said "you were going to fill out applications, so you can take care of me, Toby and yourself."

Aria said " good and what are the rules until I get back?"

Tonya said "don't unlock the door, don't answer the door, don't go out of the room."

Aria said "good Tonya. Well I have to go now. Toby please stay here with her and protect her please.?"

Toby said "I will. I promise." Aria gave him a kiss on his lips and a hug to Tonya and then she left. So Tonya was asking a lot of questions to Toby, and Toby kept answering them, when Aria left.

A few hours went by….. Aria got to town and she started to fill out applications. The last stop, she saw Jack and her mother coming from the store that she was about to go into. Jack saw her and started running towards the car and Aria put the car into drive and drove away. Jack ran back to the car and told Aria's mother to drive, so she did. They were following Aria, but Aria drove them in the wrong direction. She was in the woods and she pulled over to a log cabin, and got out of her car. She went into the log cabin and went out the back way. She waited until they went into the cabin to come get her. She ran to the cars and slit their tires and got into the car and honked and drove away. Jack and her mother ran and got in the car but they couldn't move and Jack got out and saw the tires were slit. She went back to the motel and ran to the room and got. Toby and Tonya got scared because they didn't know who was coming in the room. Then they saw Aria coming in scared to death. She turned around and locked it and looked into the peephole.

Toby asked "Honey, are you okay?"

Aria said "yeah, but Jack saw me in town and he followed me but I led him in the wrong way and I pulled over to this log cabin and went out a different way. And I ran and slit their tires and drove away. And I'm fine."

Tonya said "I'm sorry sissy."

Aria said "it is okay Tonya. Let's get ready to go to dinner okay.Tonya got ready to go and then they left. They went to Burger King. They ate and they had fun talking and they were spending a lot of time together. They got back to the motel, and they all got ready for bed. Aria tucked Tonya and said "sweet dreams my little Tonya." Then she turned off the lights and went into bed with Toby. This time she was under the blankets with him. Toby smiled and Aria turned and faced him. He was happy and she kissed him on his lips. He also kissed her back. They hugged each other. Then they fell asleep holding each other. The next day, Aria woke up and Tonya was in the middle of them. She was happy. There was a knock on the door. Aria got up and peeked out and it was Toby's dad. She opened the door and he came in and said "Aria, where is my son?"

Aria replied "in there, why?" Toby's dad ran to him and woke him up. Toby got up and Toby's dad started talking to him about his mom. His mom was in the hospital because she got hurt really badly. So Toby got up and got dressed really fast. He kissed Aria and said "I will be back I promise." So he left. When he left, she got really sad. Two hours went by and they were all alone. There was a knock on the door, it was Jack.He had found them by following Toby's dad.

Aria said "Tonya got under the bed now!" So Tonya did. Jack broke down the door. Jack said "you hid long enough. Where is your sister?"

Aria said "not with me. She is with our Aunt Claire. And she is safe. And you can't get to her Jack because I asked Claire to keep her from you and my mother. Until I get back. That is when I will put you in prison to rot." Jack got really mad and started beating the crap out of Aria. Aria couldn’t defend herself. Jack threw her on the floor and Aria looked at Tonya and then Jack was on top of her beating her. Tonya saw it all and saw the blood coming from Aria. Then Jack left. Tonya came out from under the bed. And she saw Aria passed out on the floor. She called 911 and then she called Toby screaming.

Toby said " Tonya, what's wrong? Where is Aria?"

Tonya yelled "he found us and Aria is really hurt. Come help please?"

Toby said "I'm on my way."

Mr. Dodger asked "what's wrong Toby?

Toby replied "It's Aria. She was protecting Tonya from Jack and she is hurt really badly. I have to go dad. I'm sorry." So he ran out of the hospital. He was speeding through the highway. He was crying. When he got there he parked the car and shut it off and ran into the room. Toby saw Aria on the floor bleeding. The paramedics came into the room and Toby was watching them put Aria on a stretcher. Toby said "we will follow you in my car okay." The paramedics nodded their heads yes. They got into the car and they were right behind the ambulance. They took her to the hospital where his mom was. They put her in the same room. Toby's mother was awake. Toby's mother saw Aria and she was knocked out. The doctors put her there and said she is stable and I will tell you if anything has changed. The doctor left. Toby said "Mom! You are awake. I'm so glad. I was here but as you can see I had to help Tonya. She was freaking out because Tonya saw Aria getting beaten by Jack and he didn't stop till Aria was knocked out."

Toby's mother answered "It is okay, you were helping her. She was in need of your help then I was. I'm not mad. You are a great son." Toby went over to his mother and gave her a hug. Toby said "Tonya, let's get you something to eat right now, okay." Toby touched her shoulder and Tonya started to freak out. Tonya looked behind her and saw Toby and ran to the other side of Aria.

Toby said, "What is wrong? What did I do, Tonya?" Tonya didn't speak because she was scared. Toby said "okay I have to get someone to check Tonya out right now." So Toby left and got the doctor. The doctor came in and said "Tonya?”

Tonya said "yes?"

The doctor said "I'm doctor Sims. I was wondering if I could check you out, to see if you are alright. If you will allow me."

Tonya asked "do I have to leave Aria?"

Dr. Sims said "no, but I will have to ask you some questions okay." Tonya nodded her head yes. Dr. Sims said "okay, Are you okay? Does anything hurt? Were you scared seeing your older sister getting hurt like that? Did you think you would lose your big sister? Who was all there and where were you?"

Tonya said "yes I am okay. Nothing hurts, Aria made sure that I didn't get hurt. Yes I was scared that Aria was getting hurt because she was protecting me. Yes I think I'm going to lose the one person who has always been there and protected me since I was younger. I don't want to lose my big sister. And just me and Aria, then Jack came in. Aria told me to get under the bed before Jack smashed in the door. Jack asked her a question, she answered it and Jack got really mad and started beating Aria. And he did touch me at all. Aria wouldn't allow that. Is my sister going to die?"

Dr. Sims said "okay, and I'm not sure. She is really knocked out where I can't talk to her to know what hurts and stuff like that. But I will do everything I can to keep her with us. Okay. I promise Tonya." Tonya went back to Aria and sat next to her. The doctor said "Toby, can I talk to you.?" Toby nodded his head yes. Dr. Sims said "okay, um Aria is in a minor coma but she can come back in a few hours or a few days, weeks, or even months. I'm sorry." Aria's monitor was going off. Dr. Sims ran in and said "oh shit." Then he spoke into a speaker and called for a code red in room 258. Doctors came in and told Tonya and Toby to wait in the hall. Toby's dad was there with his mother. The doctor used an electric shock machine. And got Aria's heart restarted itself. Tonya ran back in to see Aria and the doctor went out but Dr. Sims. Toby was near his dad and asked "what happened?"

Toby's dad replied "her heart had stopped for a second." Toby walked over to her and hugged her and then sat next to her. A few minutes later, Aria woke up and said "I'm going to get him back. Don't worry Tonya, I promise. Where am I? Toby, how is your mom?" Toby and Tonya hugged her and didn't want to let go. Aria said "okay, I have to breathe, sometimes right." So they let go.

Tonya said "Aria, I am so sorry you really got hurt. I know you were protecting me. Thank you. You're the best sissy in the whole world." Aria was trying to sit up and then she saw his mom and his dad.

Aria said "Hi, Mr and Mrs. Dodger. Mrs. Dodger, how are you doing?"

Mrs. Dodger said, "Honey, I'm fine. How are you? You look horrible. Why were you thinking of me?"

Aria said "I'm glad you are fine. I hurt but I will be fine because the four things I was thinking about are my little sister, Toby, you and Mr. Dodger. I was wondering how you were doing when I went down."

Mrs. Dodger smiled and said "Aria, you get some sleep. I will see you in the morning okay." But first Tonya go get. The doctor came in, and saw Aria was awake and talking.

Dr. Sims said "Hi Aria, how are you feeling?"

Aria answered "hurting but I'm fine. I really don't need to be here." Everybody looked at her weird and said "what?"

Dr. Sims said "okay well I have to check you out to make sure you are okay to leave. You do realize that." Aria nodded her head. Aria followed the light. She stood up, everything looked fine, Aria was allowed to check out. Aria got the papers and said "thanks" and she signed them. The doctor left the room. Toby said "Aria, what are you doing?"

Aria said "Toby can I talk to you outside please?" Toby nodded his head. So they went out of the room. They shut the door. Aria said "okay, I know you think I am stupid but I want Tonya and you to stay here with your family. I want to go to the hotel and stay there so I don't put you and your family in danger. Okay."

Toby said "Aria, please. Stay here with me and my family. I don't want to lose you. Please Aria."

Aria answered "I can't. If anything happens to you or your family or my little sister, I could never ever forgive myself at all."

Toby said "okay, fine if you really want to go back to the hotel. Then I'm coming with you and your little sister will be with my parents, okay."

Aria asked "what day is it?

Toby said "The seventh of January."

Aria said "we only have three more days left until the court date."

Toby said "I'm sorry this has happened to you, Aria."

Aria said "It is fine. Okay, Tonya is staying with your parents, right?"

Toby said "yes, but I am coming with you. Okay." Aria nodded her head yes. Toby and Aria went back into the room and Toby said "dad, mom can you please keep Tonya with you. So she will be safe. Aria believes since the court date is coming, it is in three days. Jack is going to come back after her or her little sister. So can you please watch Tonya. I'm going with Aria until this court date is over with okay. Please?"

Mrs Dodger said "of course Toby, Aria. We will keep her safe. But

I don't want you two to be out there either."

Aria said, "I am grateful for you and your family. So I asked Toby to stay with Tonya and with his family to be safe. But he was fighting with me to let me go on my own. So he thought about asking you to keep Tonya with you because we know she will be safe with you guys. And he would not let me go without him so he thought he would come with me to protect me."

Mrs. Dodger said "okay, Toby you can go with her and help her but separate beds. And call and let us know how everything is going."

Toby said "thank you mom."

Tonya said, "but I want to be with you Aria."

Aria said "I know but for right now you have to stay with Toby's family so you can stay safe. So please stay here. I will get you in four days. I promise."

Tonya said "okay I will stay here." Aria hugged her and said, "I will see you soon." So then Toby hugged his parents and then they left. They drove back to the hotel and they got a new room. Aria said "can I get a hug please?" Toby went over to her and just hugged her and then there was a knock and Aria squeezed him and Toby said "It is okay.” It was the maid but Toby said, "Can you come back later please and thank you." So the maid left. Aria smiled and said "let's go to bed." So they got into their separate beds. Toby fell asleep and Aria was having trouble because she was scared. So she went to Toby's bed and Toby woke up and saw her sitting next to him while watching the door. Toby said "hey, what is wrong?"

Aria said "I'm sorry. I can't sleep. I'm scared, okay. I'm scared that Jack will break down that door and beat the crap out of me again."

Toby said "It is okay. Come here, sleeping in my bed." So she layed down and got covered up and Toby said "you're cold. And he will not hurt you when I am here. I promise you Aria. I wont allow him to hurt you." Toby wrapped his arms around her. She turned on her side facing Toby. Toby smiled at her and she kissed him and said "you're my safe place. I love being in your arms."

Toby replied "I love you in my arms." Then Toby kissed her. Then they started kissing each other. Aria had to stop because her face was hurting. Toby looked at her and asked, "Are you okay?"

Aria answered "yes, but my face is hurting."

Toby asked "may I kiss it to make it feel better." Aria nodded her head yes. So he kissed her cheeks, her chin and her forehead. Then she put her face near his chest. Aria fell asleep and Toby looked at her and put his head on her head,then fell asleep. The next morning, Toby woke up first, and he saw how bad Aria's face looked. Aria was about to wake up. Toby was looking and Aria woke up and saw him staring at her. Toby said "good morning."

Aria replied "good morning Toby. What are you looking at?"

Toby said "you. How bad he beat you. But in my eyes, you're still beautiful to me."

Aria said "how bad does it look? And thank you."

Toby answered "pretty bad, and you're welcome." Aria sat up and said "I have to get cover up for this so no one will have to look at this. Hey is that job still open at your dad's work?"

Toby said "yes and don't get covered up. You look beautiful. Aria smiled and looked at him and then she kissed him and said "thank you." Toby sat up and said, "You are the most beautiful thing in this whole world." Then Toby kissed her on her forehead. Then he got up and went into the bathroom. He got into the shower. There was a knock at the door. Aria saw who it was. It was her mother. Aria ran into the bathroom. Toby shut off the shower and he got out and saw her in the bathroom with him. He quickly grabbed the towel before she turned around. She turned around and Aria was crying. Toby asked "Aria, what is wrong?"

Aria answered, "my mom is here, now."Toby said "stay here. I will deal with this." Toby went to the door and answered it.

Aria's mother said "Toby, where is my daughter?

Toby answered "Aria isn't here."

Aria's mother asked "why is her car here?"

Toby said "I have her car and she has mine. After Jack found her and beat the crap out of her. She couldn't stay in Tennessee anymore. Oh but she did want me to tell you something.

Aria's mother asked "what is that?"

Toby replied "she said she is putting Jack in prison and you might be going there as well. And she will see you in court." Then he shut the door and locked it. Aria came out of the bathroom and looked at him. Toby looked back at her. Aria ran to him and said "thank you Toby. Thank you."

Toby said "your welcome." Toby smiled at her. Aria smiled and she kissed him on his cheeks over and over again. Toby started kissing her on her lips. Toby stopped and said "umm, we should get ready." Aria nodded her head yes and went into the bathroom. Toby was trying not to go far with her because she might not be ready like he is since he met her. But it is really hard for him. Toby got dressed and she came out in a towel to grab clothes and the brush. Toby couldn't shut his mouth. Aria came over to him and said "you might want to shut your mouth before flies are going to get stuck in there." She laughed and went back into the bathroom and Toby shut his mouth. In two minutes, she came out and Toby said "wow, you dress fast." Aria smiled and layed on the bed next to him. Toby layed down. Aria was talking and Toby was answering her. They were having fun. Toby turned on his side and Aria turned on her side and they were facing each other. Toby was looking at her and he kept thinking man she is so beautiful. Aria gave him a hug.They spent the last two days getting really know each other.

TIME JUMP ONE DAY BEFORE COURT…..They woke up, and got ready for the day. Toby said "hey, can we go to the mall. So we can look at stuff and have somewhere to go instead of staying in this little tiny room."

Aria said "oh course." Then they got their shoes on. Aria said "you and Tonya have school in three weeks. So we have to get you guys stuff for school."

Toby said "and you. Your mom has already signed you up already. Do you know that we have to wake up at three in the morning to get ready and that way we can get to school early.

Aria said "okay. That would be fine because I get to see you in the morning." Toby smiled at her and she smiled back at him. They went to her car. They got in and they went to the mall. Toby grabbed her hand and held on to it. Then she turned into the mall's parking lot. They got notebooks, pencils, pens, index cards, loose paper, binders, and bookbags, and brand new sneakers. Then Toby went to KAY jewelers to look at engagement rings while Aria went to the subway to get lunch for the two of them. Aria got done and saw Toby at the jewelry store. She came over to him to see what he was doing. She tapped him on his shoulder, and asked "Toby, what are you doing?"

Toby replied "Well, it is my parents' anniversary in two weeks. So my dad asked me to pick out another engagement ring, so they can renew their vows. So I was wondering which one would you pick as an engagement ring?"

Aria said "oh, you're so sweet to do that for your dad." Aria looked to see which one she would like. She saw one that she liked. Toby said "would you like to try it on because you and mom have the same size finger." Aria's answer was sure why not. So she did and it fit perfectly and Toby smiled and said, "That is cool, that is the one my dad is going to get her. Thank you, you are a big help."

Aria said "You're welcome." Then she saw a baby and she got distracted and Toby said to the guy, "can you please keep this ring on hold, so I pay it off for her please? And how much is it?"

The guy said "It is $250.50. And if you want it on layaway you have to put $20.00 on it." Toby gave the jewler the $20.00. Then they left. They sat down and ate their lunch. Toby was watching her and Aria looked and asked " why are you watching me eat?"

Toby answered "oh, I am just watching your beauty. Hey, we should go give your sister her school stuff." Aria nodded her head yes. So they left the mall and went to Toby's parent's house. They saw Tonya playing outside with a dog. They drove up. Toby got out and then Aria got out of the car. Toby's dad saw Aria's face. It had bruises, and cuts all over it. Tonya ran up to her and hugged her. Aria hugged her back. Aria smiled and she looked at Toby and said "Tonya, you have school in three weeks, so Toby and I got you some things for school." Toby's parents gave her a hug. Aria said, "thank you for letting Toby protect me. Thank you."

Toby's dad said "your welcome. If you need to be protected or even someone to talk to my family is here for you and your sister any time.

Aria said "thank you Mr. Dodger."

Toby's mom said "Aria, would you like to come in for a glass of water or tea?"

Aria responded "that sounds lovely, Mrs. Dodger." So Aria and Mrs. Dodger went inside while Toby and his dad were talking. He was talking to his dad about the ring. Tonya was playing with the dog and listening to Toby and his father's conversation.

Toby said "I found the one that she really likes but it cost $250.50 and I had to put $20.00 on it so they will keep it in their layaway. So when I am done paying for the ring. I can ask her in a few days. What do you think, dad?"

Mr. Dodger replied "I think you two are going to be very happy together. Just make sure you ask the question in a romantic spot. Like in the middle of a restaurant but don't do it in a few days because the court is the day after tomorrow."

Toby answered "true. I should wait."

Tonya asked "are you going to ask Aria to marry you?"

Toby answered "yes, but you can't tell Aria. Please Tonya, I want it to be a surprise okay. Please promise me you won't say or hint anything to her please."

Tonya replied "I promise and I'm glad you are going to be my new brother in law. Hey, you should ask her to marry you on the spot where you two met."

Toby said "that sounds amazing. Thank you Tonya." They all went inside. Toby was looking at Aria and she was having fun hanging out with her little sister. Mr. Dodger said "oh by the way, Aria you got the job, meet me tomorrow in the morning at the police station. Okay, we have a lot of things for you to do so you can get started tomorrow."

Aria said "Thank you. Mr. Dodger. I won't let you down."

Tonya said "Aria, please don't go back to that motel. Stay here with me."

Aria said "Tonya, come with me please. We need to talk." So Tonya grabbed Aria's and they went into the living room, they didn't know that Toby was listening to the talk. Aria said "sit Tonya." So Tonya sat. Aria said "Tonya, it is a little bit weird for a girlfriend and boyfriend to live under the same roof with the boyfriend's parents. So Tonya, I promise you. I'm going to get a house for me, you and maybe Toby. Okay. But for right now you have to stay here until after the court day, okay. I know it is scary but you have to be strong okay. In a few days, we will really live together as a family."

Tonya said "why can't I just come with you. Please."
