Royal Bournemouth General Hospital, December 2011 Dear Ava Still asleep I see. I didn’t intend to come back again, but I had to try to see you one more time in the hope that this time you would be conscious. I had been walking on the beach; looking south in search of the sun, but I’ve yet to see it here in England. The weather today is cloudy and a little hazy out to sea, but you know I’m sure I could just make out a cluster of white rocks and I’m pretty sure that they must have been your ‘Old Harry’ and his wife. I missed them while I was in Swanage, I had more pressing things on my mind, like meeting you I guess, anyway I was really pleased to have seen them, yet I felt so forlorn and empty, it was such a poignant moment.
