Chapter 14 YOU'RE A WHAT????

As they got off of the plane, Laura's eyes widened when she saw the fancy car that was waiting for them. "Welcome home Sir", said a butler as he bowed to Angel. Angel looked a little annoyed and said, " Stand up! I told you not to bow. We are both human and not GOD. You bow to GOD, not a measly human". " Yes Sir. My sincerest apologies". He opened the door for angel and Laura and got in the driver's seat. Laura decided she had built up the courage to finally ask the lingering question in her mind. "Do you come from a wealthy family? I thought you were just a doctor that grew up in Oklahoma? Why have you never told me about this part of your life? why were you more comfortable telling me about being a vampire"? "There was a reason for the discretion, Laura. I am just a doctor and I couldn't tell you before, but our situation changes things now. I must keep you three safe". Laura smiled at Angel's words. "He wants to keep ALL of us safe?", Laura thought. "Sir, we've arrived.", said the butler. Laura came back to reality and her jaw dropped as if it had been dislocated. " This is where you grew up"?! Laura was in shock, but angel was used to it. As they approached the massive estate, a shrill voice was heard shouting. "MICHAEL LOS ANGELES PERTFORD"! Laura couldn't contain her laughter. "Michael Los Angeles PERTFORD"???? Angel was stiff with embarrassment. "That was indeed the name I was born to. I changed it as soon as I became an adult. Soon after, my family and I were all attacked and turned into vampires. The estate and money grew over time". Laura felt like a complete jerk and apologized. Angel made sure that she knew, that she need not apologize. Meredith, Angel's mother, walked in and hugged him tight saying it had been ages since he had come home. Soon, her eyes caught sight of Laura and she asked, "Is this a new servant of yours, Michael"? "Mother, it's angel now. And no. This is the woman I love and we are pregnant". Meredith's face turned beet red as she struggled to say, " p..pp....p....PREGNANT"?!?!?! She collapsed to the floor.
