8 “It’s not working!” Jayde cried out. She pulled up and down on the lever forcefully, her heart pounding loudly in her chest as she watched the sleepers get closer and closer. She kicked the base of the panel in frustration and choked back the tears. McCready came to stand beside her and fired his rifle into the coming madness.
