Chapter 24 – Inspection
The klaxon sounded again. The wind began to subside, and Dale's body slowed. A second later, he stopped completely. He blinked and looked around, trying to get his bearings. The howling noise steadily decreased, like a dying animal's last cry. A minute later, the wind stopped completely, and the pipe became silent.
Dale groaned. He checked himself for broken bones, but didn't find any. He slowly crawled back towards the hatch and the broken filter. The wind had blown him about twenty feet down the pipe. He had no idea why it had stopped, but he wasn't about to complain. All he needed now was a way out.
