Chapter 36 – Wreckage Dale opened his eyes. His vision swam for a moment, and he couldn't tell up from down. After a few seconds, he realized the truck was lying on its right side. He took a deep breath and immediately regretted it—the air was full of smoke. He coughed, pulled his shirt up over his nose, and climbed towards the driver's side window. He cautiously stuck his head out. The rear of the trailer had been shredded, and most of it was on fire. A thick plume of black smoke billowed off from the rear tires. That black smoke mixed with the white from the soldiers' smokescreen rounds, forming a swirling gray cloud.
