“Red Sky is now in range, Mr. Leland,” announced Fotis.
“Good,” Nat said. “Lock on and fire.”
“We'll need authorization from the Secretary of Defense, sir,” Susila said. She twisted around in her chair to look at him. “We're not at war with any other Martian government, nor have those governments attacked us, so authorization is required before the platform can be activated. Would you like me to send a request to Earth?”
Nat threw up his hands. “You're just now telling me this? Yes! Yes, send a request to Earth.”
“Sending.”
