Chapter 1: That Day!
I speeded up my run hoping to, arrive before the school gate closed. Today is the first day of school. But unlike any other student that is excited about going to school, this is nothing but an ordinary day for me. Well, what would be the importance of education to someone whose father owns a big company and a mother that is known by many for her remarkable talent at writing? Education is merely a responsibility.
7:59
One more minute left
8:00
Shoot!
8:01
Come on foot, cooperate!
Finally!
I stopped and gasped for air as soon as I set foot near the gate. Disappointment arose in me, upon seeing it was already closed. I shouldn't have run and just enjoyed the view on my way here. The class begins at 7:30 but the school allows 30 more minutes before they shut the gate closes. Our driver actually dropped me off early, but I missed cues that much that I lost track of the time. The guard standing there is new to me, which is freaking bad. They probably found out the bullshit of last year's guard extorting money from late students or those who had violated school laws, and replaced him. Judging by his arched brows and grimace, it seemed that my tactic would not work on him. Yeah, this school is so strict that you'd rather be absent than late. This is the reason why my parents picked it for me.
I leaned on the school fence as I thought of any possible solution. I can't go back to the house and if I don't ever go and take my class, Mom will receive a message from the faculty and I'll surely get good beatings this evening.
My mind is in the middle of thinking when my attention has been caught by another late student. But it's not her being late that made me notice her, it's her stunning beauty. How long have I been sleeping in school that I didn't notice her existence? Well, after all, it's a big school. She walked her way to the gate lazily, as if, like me, going to school was against her will. She stopped right in front of the guard. And I can't believe my eyes, the guard had smiled at her and now having a chat with her. Seriuosly? So they knew each other. I drew near them to eavesdrop on what they were talking about. The guard doesn't notice it because he's laughing at whatever the girl is saying. My eyes scanned the skinny and quite tall, beautiful girl. She was a totally pleasing sight early this morning. But there was something wrong with those smiles. No glints of joy would be seen in her eyes. If only I could snatch her away from the oldie guard, I would. She pointed her finger in my direction, making the guard look at me. What now?
The guard nodded and opened the gate, he then called me and was told to go inside. Puzzled, I complied. Did she just help me!!!Who in the world is she? And why would she help me when we don't even know each other? There are lots of questions in my mind, but there's one thing for sure, once the class has ended, I will find her.
