Broken Soul

Her breathing is rough and uneven as I hold her in my arms. So tiny and frail I feel like if I hold her to hard I will break her. No one should have to see the horrors that have befallen this night, let alone one so young. I look down at her again, an image of her mother that has passed on from this world only hours before; black hair an odd contrast to her pale white skin, her eyes that are lightning green that lay closed now as she sleeps looking so frail in my arms. I wish I could keep her in my arms forever but it is only time before they find me and track me down too. I just hope that I have made the right choice in leaving her at this school. A school that was built to mock us, one in which her life should have avoided but know look where I stand. I can not do this alone, but this little one I can not involve any more in this silent war that has been raging on. They will look for you, but they will never find the true answers right underneath there door. I can only hope that her life will bring her back to us in due time and her mind will not be misguided by the lies that people will spout of this woeful night. Of the people that risked there life for her and pray for her return for the blood that was spilt in her name in love and protection. I can already feel the presence of her soul calling out searching for its other half, a rarity in her species though her life in still but a mystery to us she has been the only one of her kind to need a second half, I just hope her fate does not befall the ones that where before her, I hope her soul that is only half living inside her won't be broken by the time she finds it. I look up at the building that lay beyond the wall. A wall that stands as an insult to me. Is this the right choice? Leaving her here? I wrap the blanket around her tighter and lay her in front of the gate. If I don't leave now I will be putting her in more risk with my involvement. I place a soft kiss to her forehead, wiping away the last few hours she has had with me from her mind locking them away along with half of her soul so that they remain untouched and pure. As I walk away I will myself not to look back… As I look to the skies I send a silent prayer that I have done the right thing my old friend.
