Chapter 12

(Priyanka? You have to wake them now, we are home)

(One more minute, papa)

Anika opened her eyes awaken from her sleep , only to see that she fall asleep on Priyanka 's shoulders as same as Shivaay but somehow both managed to hold hands over Priyanka 's lap ,Anika raised her head from Priyanka's shoulder and Priyanka pouted .

Priyanka: why you raised your head? I was so happy

Anika smiled to her widely then looked at Shakti who was frowning to Priyanka and Anika said ..

Anika: I will wake him ,papa

Then she squeezed on Shivaay's hand and with her finger kept poking him kindly

Anika: Shivaay ? Shivaay?

Shivaay smiled hearing her voice during his sleep and whispered ..

Shivaay : I love you too

Priyanka chuckled shyly as Shakti got out of the car and Anika swallowed and her cheek blushed

Anika : Shivaay? Please wake up

Shivaay opened his eyes faintly and smiled but then he flinched seeing they are in the car and that shy smile on Priyanka’s lips that he was leaning on her shoulder .

Priyanka : and we all love you too bhai

Shivaay raised an eyebrow to her as she chuckled and he got out of the car then opened for Anika the door and she got out with Priyanka then pulled the suitcase from behind the back chair

Priyanka: you know , you don't need those cloth , your cloth still in the wardrobe , no one touch them and I think they still fit , except you look thinner , you had a bit of belly before. I miss it

Shivaay rolled his eyes and said : piku , take your breath you don't stop talking .

Priyanka jumped happily and said : you called me piku again (then she took a deep breath) see I took my breath , how good am I ?

Shivaay rolled his eyes and looked at Anika who smiled and said ..

Anika : the mansion is really beautiful , you know I was thinking it will be bigger than that but I think it’s good , that will fit us comfortably

Priyanka looked at Anika confused as Shivaay held her shoulder and said ..

Shivaay: Anika, what are you looking at is the maid's house , small house for the employee in the mansion (then he turned her left and said)THIS IS THE MANSION

Anika looked at it and her eyes widen and her mouth dropped and felt dizzy that she actually fall back and Shivaay supported her and Priyanka gasped

Shivaay : breathe ..Breath

Then he put his finger under her chin and pushed it up so her mouth close and he said ..

Anika: please tell me that this is a building and we will have an apartment in it

Shivaay shook his head and whispered : this is all Singh Oberoi mansion , for my father’s family

Anika looked at him with wide eyes and her mouth opened again and he pushed his finger under her chin to close her mouth , but she thought that it’s hard to just focus and keep her mouth shut , the mansion literally had no end , she don't know where it end and where it begins ..it was three floors high , in addition to a big glass penthouse ,and it was white like snow , windows were sparkling like diamonds and the stairs towards the golden gate seemed as if its pure white marble and the garden around it filled with red roses and sun flowers ...it was breath taking , most beautiful place she ever seen in her life , more like a fairy tale palace and her first thought when she was able to think , was that she will never be able to live here .

Shivaay : Anika ? Anika ? ..(Then he looked at Priyanka and said) she won’t move

And he carried her with one arm and walked towards the mansion, as Priyanka chuckled and Anika eyes widen and poked him in the shoulder .

Anika: put me down , I am fine ,don't embarrass me

Shivaay: you didn't even see the inside of it yet

Anika eyes widen and said: wait ? What is inside

Priyanka : bhai wait

Shivaay stopped as Priyanka opened her bag and got out a compact powder and a lip stick

Priyanka : there are bruises on your face Bhabhi, I will fix that

(Then she applied the powder on the bruises and looked at Shivaay with wide eyes as Shivaay wasn't seeing her because he was giving her his back as he carrying Anika but for her surprise he said annoyed)

Shivaay: NO , Priyanka I didn't hit my wife

Priyanka swallowed and looked at Anika who said ..

Anika : oh, sweetie ...it’s not your brother who did that , no ...it’s my brother who hit me

Priyanka eyes widen further and looked at Shivaay who bend his head back with wide smile and said ..

Shivaay: seriously , piku? You fall when I hand shake you ..Don’t worry when you annoy me again , which you are doing all day by the way, I will just hand shake you

Priyanka chuckled and applied the lipstick on Anika's lips , then she took off her earrings clips and put them on her ears ..

Anika : why is that ?

Priyanka: trust me , Bhabhi...you have to look your best because ..Ahem for no reason , bhai can you raise her more?

Shivaay raised her more as she put some of her gold bracelets and rings on Anika 's hand as Shivaay said

Shivaay: I hope you both comfortable, please don't mind me

Priyanka : okay , okay ..I am done

Anika looked at Shivaay and her face was just an inch or two away from him and said ..

Anika : I look good ?

Shivaay looked at her and swallowed then he said ,,

Shivaay: piku , why don't you cover your eyes .

Priyanka eyes widen then covered her face as Shivaay was about to kiss Anika but she smiled shyly and covered her face in his shoulder .

Anika: no Shivaay , I am nervous (then she chuckled and said)but good to know

Shivaay moaned in frustration then he said ..

Shivaay : let’s just go in

And he walked with Anika as Priyanka walked behind him and kept colliding with him in the back all the way upstairs

Shivaay without looking in frustration : you can open your eyes now piku

Anika chuckled as Priyanka uncovered her face and took a breath in relief then said ..

Priyanka : I will go check on the dinner , we are cooking my favorites

Shivaay eyes widen and said : shouldn't you tell them to cook my favorites ?!! As a welcome ?!!

Priyanka chuckled and said : and why would I do that ? I am the one who missed you , I need some relief

And she ran inside as Anika said ..

Anika : put me down please , don't embarrass me and I promise , I will move and won’t be so shocked

Shivaay nodded and put her down and she raised her head and held his hand and both entered the mansion and the minute they enter Anika gasped, seeing the walls that where painted with gold paint and the golden furniture and the marble floor and the ceilings with drawings and...

Anika: oh god , carry me ,rich boy

Shivaay carried her and said : I am not rich , my father is the one who is rich

Anika annoyed: ya that is what rich people say

Shivaay walked with her towards the living room where Shakti was standing on its beginning

Shakti: what is wrong with her ?

Shivaay: she is just dizzy

Shakti nodded and said : we will have the dinner soon

Anika in low tone : okay put me down , put me down

Shivaay put her down as Anika smiled to Shakti who hugged her and said ..

Shakti: welcome to the Singh Oberoi mansion , my daughter

Anika smiled and bend to touch his foot but he hugged her again instead and whispered to her .

Shakti: no matter what you hear about Shivaay , never leave his hand , okay?

Anika eyes widen in shock of what he said as he broke the hug and smiled to her as if he said nothing , then looked at Shivaay who was looking with angry eyes towards big family portrait and Shakti looked where he is looking as well as Anika , and the family portrait had veer , Tej , a young man she didn’t see before ,Priyanka , and Shakti sitting on the chair

And Anika noticed on the back of the chair , fingers that was holding , just fingers

" Oh no" she thought and looked at Shivaay who was so Angry that his body was shivering but he managed to say calmly

Shivaay: you cut me out , sir ?

Shakti looked at him then suddenly screamed and said ..

Shakti: TAKE THAT PICTURE DOWN

And Anika looked around and from nowhere came three butlers took the portrait down then took it away as Shivaay said to Shakti

Shivaay: I wasn't really annoyed , it’s your house ..I am just a guest here

Shakti looked at him then blows a breath out in frustration

Shakti : we prepared the third floor for you , but before you go to sleep , let’s have dinner , from here please

And he moved in front of them as Anika whispered to Shivaay..

Anika: you think they will have the cheese with tomatoes ? or should we go to our sandwich stall ?

Shivaay chuckled faintly as they went towards the dinner table and when they reached there ,Priyanka stood and beside her was an old woman with teary eyes who Shivaay smiled widely seeing her and ran and hugged her .

Shivaay : Nanny , oh god how I missed you

Nanny: oh Shivaay , my son ..I missed you so much , I was so scared that I will die before seeing you

Shivaay broke the hug then smiled and looked at Anika and said ..

Shivaay: this Maria my Nanny , she is for me like my mother mercy on her soul ..Nanny is the one who raised me and Priyanka , ..This is Anika my wife , nanny

Anika smiled widely and reached with her hand to the woman , who shook her hand and just smiled faintly to her and sat down with no further saying , but Anika felt that this woman hated her from the first sight , she can feel unwelcomed from her looks, but it was just a feeling so she ignored it

Shivaay sat down and pulled Anika down to sit and patted on her hand then whispered ..

Shivaay: I know everything is new for you , I feel that too ..But you will get used to it

Shakti : let begin to eat then

(Without me , papa?)

Shivaay eyes widen without looking on the owner of the voice and Anika looked behind her and saw a girl with short sleeveless leather dress , heavy Goth like makeup and oiled black hair .

Priyanka swallowed and looked at Shivaay with shivery smile ..

Priyanka : surprise !!!Look who came , Ragini

The girl came and looked at the table then gasped seeing Shivaay and looked at Shakti with disbelief as Shivaay wasn't less shocked ..

Shivaay in disbelief: what is she doing here ? And why she is calling you papa?

Priyanka: after the..ahem... incident , papa said she should live with us in the mansion and we should take care of her like a daughter , you know she has no one in Mumbai

Shivaay stood and held his head in disbelief feeling he is going to go mad as Anika actually felt her heart on fire seeing Shivaay ex fiancé, who seems different in everything than her , then how different was he before to be attracted to that girl .

Ragini suddenly spoke in perfect English saying angrily

Ragini : if he came to fix his mistake after all this years then I have my conditions for this marriage

Shivaay eyes widen and said..

Shivaay: what marriage ? Are you mad ? I can’t even stay with you in one place ..I till today don't understand how you got away with that , how my family believed you and took you in and throw me out

Ragini smiled and said in English : because I was the one who saying the truth , Shivaay ..I was the one who proved my words to everyone(then she smiled and said) does your mediocre wife know ? Or should I tell her?

And for Anika's surprise Shivaay suddenly moved angrily towards Ragini and everyone gasped and Anika held on his hand that he raised towards her and she pulled it before it reach Ragini ..

Ragini : what ? You want to attack me , Shivaay?

Shivaay greet on his teeth as Shakti said ..

Shakti : SHIVAAAY , STOOP THAT NOW

Anika: Shivaay ? Please

Shivaay roared in anger and his body relaxed and took a deep breath as Ragini put her hand over her chest, she actually feared he will.

Shivaay: fine , fine ...let her stay here , but we will go

Shakti : you are not going anywhere , again I will remind you , its Anika’s well being not only yours

Shivaay looked at Anika who was still holding on his arm and then looked at Shakti and said

Shivaay: then if she came near me or my wife , I will kill her

Shakti looked at Ragini who sat down as Nanny patted on her hand , then he suddenly said ..

Shakti : enough for tonight , you all can go to bed now , dinner is canceled

Shivaay pulled Anika’s hand and took her the second he heard the words and Anika went with him without asking , he opened a door of an elevator and Anika felt she don't have the time to comment on that and he pressed 3 and after a second the door opened to an incredibly large room , more like an apartment than a room with bed and bathroom and living room too , but she wasn't really interested in all that , she was so worried on Shivaay who leaned on the bed , sad and in pain ..

Shivaay: I can’t believe that , I feel like its nightmare , why I came back here ?

Anika smiled and said : we can just go , you know

Shivaay looked at her as she nodded and said ..

Anika : if you will be in pain , then we can go

Shivaay smiled and said: you can give up all this for me ?

Anika nodded yes and said: I can give up my life for you .

Shivaay smiled and said : why you think I will do less then (then he shook his head and said) what I was thinking when I thought to marry her?

Anika smile lessened and said ..

Anika: she is pretty and knows how to speak English and probably have very high education

Shivaay nodded and said : yes , but she is not a human , you know I respect my father for standing by her thinking his son is in fault , but I also wish if someone stood for me in this matter , family should stand for each other ,no matter what

Anika strictly : tell me what happened and see if I will stand for you or not

(Shivaay looked at her then smiled and patted on her cheek then turned and slept on his side and said)

Shivaay: good night , Anika

Anika: you will sleep like that ? With no dinner , you didn't eat but one sandwich

Shivaay : I don't feel like eating , in fact probably the servants ate our dinner after my father canceled it , so you won’t find anything to eat ,just go to sleep

Anika eyes widen feeling her stomach aching from hunger , then she leaned on the bed and heard Shivaay faint snoring after minutes , then after an hour , she couldn't take it and got off the bed and walked slow steps towards elevator then entered it and pressed G for ground floor and the minute she reached there, she said to herself ..

Anika: where this people put their kitchen , mercy on my soul I will get lost here

And she kept looking and looking ..Entering once a room and once a bathroom , till she finally found the kitchen , she smiled widely and looked around her then opened the refrigerator and for her surprise it was ..

Anika: EMPTY? SERIOUSLY ?

Then she put her hand inside and kept touching inside as if she expecting some invisible food.

Anika: papa is very strict in his punishments , he punished a whole family so harshly

(Then she closed the refrigerator and sat on the floor in front of it , then she shook her head and said)

Anika: there have to be something to eat

And she looked around opening every drawer till she found a bag of sugar , bag of flour and butter ..Nothing else

Anika smiled widely and said: okay , I can do something here

And she mixed the three of them and made balls then put them in baking pan and put them in the oven and smiled widely and sat on the floor waiting for the delicious treat to be baked

(Bhabhi?)

Anika gasped and stood as Priyanka came rubbing her eyes and said in sleepy tone ..

Priyanka : you are baking ? You can’t do that ,it’s against my father wishes , he is very strict about his orders

Anika bit her lower lip and looked down as Priyanka nodded and sat on the floor .

Priyanka : when it will be done ? I am hungry?

Anika smiled widely and said : in 10 minutes

Priyanka smiled widely as Anika sat beside her and leaned on her shoulder ..

Anika : piku ? What happened with Shivaay and Ragini?

Priyanka eyes widen as Anika nodded to her and said ..

Anika: okay , don't say its fine

Priyanka : in my brother 21 birthday , they had a fight and back then they were engaged ..my brother in his birthday announcement canceled the marriage , in front of everybody , my father was furious with bhai for that , everyone was ,but then it’s his life and my brother was someone very stubborn and proud ..He is Shivaay Singh Oberoi after all , so when I asked him why he canceled the marriage he said to me that he is punishing Ragini but he don't really mean it and when she feel sorry he will marry her

Anika frowned from the last words as Priyanka continued ..

Priyanka : after that with 2 days , exactly at night Ragini came to the mansion crying and shivering and covered in scratches and her cloth all cut ..And ...and she said that my brother punished her further by ...by...

Anika eyes widen in disbelief and shook her head

Anika: NO , NO ..Shivaay would never force himself on a girl or ..No , how could you believe Shivaay will do that ?

Priyanka: he came after her with an hour , and his body was filled with scratches and bite marks on his neck and her fingers had his skin under her nails , he kept denying this and swear that he don't know what happened , but he didn't even had a story , he said he wake up like that ..My father wanted to put him in prison , Ragini is the daughter of his late best friend , but nanny to save Shivaay said that the only solution is the marriage , so they can help Ragini and defend her honor and all agreed even Ragini. But Shivaay bhai refused , saying he rather die than see her face ,but my father said either that or he is not his son and that he should get out with the cloth on his back ..My father didn't really mean it but that what happened , my brother just ran away and vanished , he didn't take money or anything , he ran away with what he was wearing and we never saw him for five years

Anika nodded faintly and whispered : now I understand why he stood for me (then she looked at Priyanka and said) your brother is the best man I ever met and he is innocent , I swear on my life

Priyanka smiled faintly and nodded : I didn't believe him and called him names and told him he is no brother to me and he just forgave me , in half a day ..I wish I can make it up to him

(Anika?)

Anika looked behind her and saw Shivaay standing rubbing his eyes and she ran and hugged him tight ..

Anika: you are the best man I ever met , Shivaay

Shivaay yawned and said :I know, you met rubbish all your life (then he looked at her and said) are you baking ?

Anika smiled and nodded yes hard as he said ..

Shivaay : you know it’s against Mr. Singh Oberoi orders ? He probably cleaned the refrigerator too from the food.

Anika swallowed and nodded faintly as he nodded to her then went and sat beside Priyanka

Shivaay : when it will be baked ?

Anika chuckled and said : 5 minutes

Shivaay nodded then rubbed his eyes again and yawned then looked at Priyanka who was smiling widely to him

Shivaay : what ?

Priyanka kissed his cheek and hugged him tight and said ...

Priyanka : I just love you

Shivaay smiled and scratched her head as Anika came and sat beside him on the floor and hugged him .

Shivaay : what about you Mrs. Singh Oberoi ?

Anika smiled shyly as he nodded and said teasingly ..

Shivaay : and I love you too , but I will need to hear it one day you know

Anika looked down shyly as a sound came from behind her and said ..

(Anika?)

All eyes widen and stood and looked at Shakti who was looking at her with wide eyes ..

Shakti: you are baking ? Didn’t you hear me when I said dinner is canceled ?

Anika swallowed and nodded then said ..

Anika : but ...

Shakti : when this will be finished ? I am starving

Anika eyes widen and looked at Shivaay and Priyanka as Shakti pulled a chair and sat in front of the oven and said ..

Shakti smiled and said : who will make the tea ?

Next morning ...

Shivaay wake up from his sleep and took his shower , and thought that he didn't feel Anika beside him from all morning , where is she ? He doesn’t know .

so he just wear his cloth and rode the elevator to the ground Floor and got out and looked around only to notice Anika sitting outside on the stairs holding a rose in her hand , he smiled faintly seeing her wide smile as she smelling the flower , maybe his father is right , maybe coming here she finally will feel safety and happiness but as he watching her he saw Ragini coming towards Anika and then sit beside her and Shivaay felt to run and snatch Anika from beside her , she is a snake and for sure have bad intention and before he rush for Anika he heard Ragini saying .

Ragini in perfect English: I am sorry we didn't have the chance to meet , I am Shivaay's future wife , after he divorce you

Anika eyes widen as Ragini shook her hand and said ..

Ragini in perfect English: and you are ?

Anika looked at her then she swallowed and said ..

Anika: I ....I don’t speak English

Ragini chuckled and said in English : god , you can’t even say two words in English , I knew from your accent that you are a peasant or something...just a pretty face and no brain

Shivaay ran outside and was about to interfere but for his surprise Anika said in English

Anika : I …destroy ..You ..go(then she smiled and said) which mean in Hindi that I will destroy you for what you did to Shivaay and will make you pay for it and will cause you to go out from here , listen I don't know if you know that I am village girl , and I don't really know how to scold people in English or even Hindi and stand for myself is not a thing I usually do , but god I know how to defend my ...(then she said in English) love

Ragini eyes widen as Anika said ..

Anika : I do not know how you framed him , but I will know and I will prove it and then no one will show you mercy (then she smiled and said) I guess you do know Hindi

Shivaay eyes widen as Anika walked back inside with her face flaming red in shyness but for her surprise Shivaay pulled her and pinned her to the wall as she looked at him with wide eyes ..

Shivaay : do you know what the word you said means ? The word “ love”

Anika swallowed and said : I… Am ..Not ..Sure ..My English …is not good

Shivaay smiled and said : I feel you love me , but you are confused , and I just want to hear it , I want hope

Anika swallowed and took his hand and put it on her heart and said ..

Anika : what it is saying ?

Shivaay smiled and said: it says Shivaay , every beat says Shivaay ..I can hear it from here

Anika : when I can’t stop thinking about you , when I wish for you and not myself , when I can’t imagine one day without you , when I feel I want to be better person just to deserve you what is that mean ?

Shivaay smiled and said : you love me ,Anika and one day you will say it and it will be the happiest day in my life

Anika looked at him with wide eyes then for his surprise she kissed his lips quickly then looked at him with wide eyes as he looked at her breathless

Anika : and why I did that ?

Shivaay smiled and said : so I can do that

And he kissed her passionately and she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back
