The moment Gideon fell asleep I realized why he hadn’t dared slept in days. Nightmares plagued him.
His brows were knitted tightly and sweat broke out on his forehead as he kept mumbling words I could not understand. My heart broke into a thousand pieces seeing him like that.

Tears sprang to my eyes but I forced them back and just hugged Gideon. I began softly running my hands through his hair then pulling them lightly and the action seemed to calm him down a little.
He soon began sleeping peacefully. As I laid there with him, I didn’t realize when I fell asleep too.
