Days passsed after Kael’s supposed death. The search team has not reported any positive news. The whole pack was quiet and mourning. And a dark gloom was always hanging above the air. Gideon has not spoken more than a few words since. I slept with him everyday, and apart from holding me close and pretending to sleep, he’s done nothing else. Three days. And I could tell he’s not slept a wink, but because he didn’t want me to worry, he would always pretend he’d fallen asleep, then I’d fake sleep hours later only to catch him sneaking out of bed.
