I bit my lips and moved closer, closer, until my mouth was right over his ear.
“Are you awake?” I whispered slowly, feeling like a thief that was stealing him from his soldiers, and his generals, and the elders, and all the other people that depended on him.
Dawn was soon turning into early morning and I knew that his generals would come for him at any moment. They never stepped too close to the tent out of respect to the Wolf. It was pointless. Whenever other Alphas were close the Wolf grew irritated and started growling deep in his chest.
