Chapter 1 Meet the boys.
Evening. Jonahs house "Oh please! I'd pick life in a mexican prison over ten minutes of s*x with you, period." Rex said to keffy and had the room containing the five most silly people ever go quiet. "Ughm." Everyone seemed to gulp in unison. "Whoa that was harsh." Keffy; a pretty girl with dark brown eyes and a pointed nose said to Rex who had directly addressed her. "Sorry, Keffy I didn't actually mean it." Rex apologized and smiled showing off his perfectly arranged set of glassy white teeth; He kept his hair shaved at the edges and neatly carved despite being constantly moisturized and curly. Rex had blue eyes that everyone said were contact lenses but were proved wrong. "Being a Nigeria or black doesn't rule out having beautiful eyes." He would always say whenever Bliss; the stunning pixie-haired calabar girl from benue state brought up the issue. Morse on the other hand stared In disbelief at the statement originally made; his full pink lips lying in a comfy bed of dark mustache right under his slightly out-of-place nose. Morse' eyes were pitch black which gave him a shady look when he stared through his large eyeballs, but still his smile always caught people off guard by the sheer beauty of it. Jonah; a tall dark guy with large eyes and long lashes relaxed in his sofa with his head set on, it was his favorite sofa as it was his house. As usual he wasn't paying any attention to anything they were saying. Jonah simply always said keffy and Rex should get married and stop having their continuous lovers quarrel. The house on the other hand was beautiful, marble floors, furry sofas, large glass windows with colourful blinds, air conditioning and lastly three vast bedrooms with differing decorations. "Ofcourse, you didnt." Keffy agreed " Keffy I'm serious." "Nevermind I started it anyways." She replied deciding to be mature. But as always that never worked, no, not with Rex. "Yes, you did." He continued. "I'm sorry is that an apology?" "Guys we came here to read." Bliss cut in. "Oh yeah." Morse and Jonah agreed,Rex and keffy reluctantly accepted. For about four hours or so, no one spoke in the room as they finished assignments and read up their materials. "Jonah I'm hungry." Keffy finally spoke up. "There's food in the kitchen."Jonah replied absentmindedly while he stared at his phone. "Really, which food?" No reply. "Jonah?" No reply. "Jonah! who are you chatting with?" Keffy demanded "Hmm?" He mummured, lifting his gaze from his phone to her face. "Uhmm, no one." "Great, which food?" "Beans and plantain." "Heaven." Keffy replied in a singsong whisper and proceeded to the kitchen. By the sink the tiles were done in mixed colours and the drapes were blue. The kitchen was large enough to eat in so Keffy served some in a plate before taking it over to a chair at the kitchen table. She allowed herself a few seconds to pray and inhale the aroma of the food. Jonah loved well garnished food so he put shrimps, fish, fresh pepper in the beans and eggs to eat with it. He was such a cook. "How are you done with eating so fast?" Rex asked; startling keffy as he stepped into the kitchen. "Asshole, why the heck are you here?" "Same reason you are." Rex declared. "You don't know why I'm here." Keffy replied, looked down at her food and realized what she said was dumb. "Hmm." Rex smiled and spoke again. "Do you mind serving me?" "Yes I do. Do you mind not talking to me?" "Yes very much. Since you're not willing to serve me I'll serve myself." Rex said and walked over to the cooker, served himself before taking a seat opposite from Keffy; so that she stared right into his eyes. His very blue eyes. "Are you a half-caste Rex?" For a moment he said nothing, then he spoke; "Mmm, something like that. You see... Uhm, my mum kind of cheated on my her husband with my father. My father's white but her husband loved me all the same. I think it's because of the blue eyes." He said pointing towards his eyes. "They are pretty." "What?" "Nothing." Keffy said quickly, blushing. Rex smiled before returning to his meal. "What about you are you sure Nigerian?" "Yeah." "Where are you from?" "Delta but I live in Lagos." "What made you come all the way from Lagos to school here?" "I wanted to see more of the world." Keffy said dreamily. "Tsk. Nice." Rex added blandly. "Hmm?" "Nothing." They finished their meals in silence. "Rex come wash off your plate." "Oh no, you're the lady." "Meaning?" "You do the dishes." Rex said matter-of-factly. "Ok. Rex don't start this you barbaric, sexist talk now. I'm simply not in the mood, just come wash off your plate." Keffy said rubbing her forehead. "Help me. Please." "Why can't you do it?" "I...uhm...well,I don't know how to." Keffy wasn't surprised. "How do you eat at home?" She demanded, staring him in the eye. "Take out." Rex mummured. "Well good, today you learn." Taking on the voice of a disciplinarian. "Do I have to?" " Yes, or you'll eventually die if you don't. Now here's the wash cloth." Keffy said handing him a sponge. "I think I can do it now, thank you." " I don't even know why I bother with you, sometimes." "Because I'm dope." "Dimwitted dumbass. You're literally so dumb it's a surprise you can talk." "Do you really want to start Keffy?" "s**t face." "Ass-wipe." "Pig dung." " Eww." "Asshole." "Okay I surrender." "Go to hell." " Whoa! I didn't actually mean to annoy you." "Well you did." Keffy said, wiped her hand on the towel, walked into the sitting room then changed her mind and went to the bathroom. "Narrow minded, dim witted, barbaric, asshole. God why couldn't I crush on someone else? Someone who doesn't make a career out of frustrating my life?" Keffy demanded of the mirror above the sink as she stared into it. "And yes, to make it even more pathetic he happens to fancy my best friend. Ughhh! My life." It was eleven fifty-four by now and Keffy realized she really needed to catch some sleep. Strolling back to the parlor she sat on Jonahs favorite chair and stared at Rex. Rex sat opposite from jonahs favorite sofa which made him a direct view for Keffy. He seemed deeply concentrated because he didn't notice Keffy staring. His deep blue eyes rolled over the letters with rapt attention until he felt something tug at his focus. He tried to shrug it off but it lingered. Frowning;he raised his head and found himself staring into keffys dark brown eyes, Rex smiled and winked, which made her blush and look down almost immediately, then reaching into her back pocket Keffy pulled out her phone and began fiddling with it. "Keffy." Morse called. "Yeah?" "Do you have movies on your phone?" "Yes." "Which ones?" "You're done reading, right? Come check them out yourself." "Okay." Morse sat next to Keffy and they began exchanging movies. "Don't worry, just take the phone I need sleep."Keffy said handing the phone over to Morse. He got off the sofa, she curled up and fell asleep. "Gosh! She's like angel pretty." "Who?" Bliss asked as she rounded of her reading session. "What?" "Who's angel pretty?" "Oh no... Uhm, no just forget about it." Rex stuttered. "Are you into Keffy?" "Why?" Rex scowled. "Ehn... No reason, just wondering."Bliss said suspiciously.
