Chapter 9

She had the words on the tip of her tongue to explain everything to her mother, but she was unable to do it. It seemed unattainable to her. It's meaningless, Leah didn't seem to be persuaded. I had best go provide a hand at his apartment. I can kind of understand why John and some of the group had to tear out the most of the upstairs. Leah laughed. "Make a mess of it before you clean it up. I enjoy it. The setting is chaotic. "I can envision that. It's still standing, which surprises me. A handful of the pack went to damage the location after he let us down. They probably only began on the inside. They removed all of his stuff and set a massive fire to the center of the town. "I didn't know," You were present. You probably believed it to be a celebration or something. She rushed to her mother and gave her a cheek kiss after grabbing the two lunch boxes she had made. I love you, bye, and I'll see you soon. Leah called out to Rebecca as she emerged from the kitchen, "Rebecca." "Yes, Mother?" There are many things a friend can do that can be overlooked. Here, in your heart, you'll sense it. Living apart from one another is the ultimate nightmare. You'll get used to adapting, just like when you initially start living together. I had to learn, and so did your father. I saw Rebecca nod. Therefore, it is not a fantastical story. "Believe me, you don't want it to be. Being with your partner can be extremely thrilling and enjoyable. Leah escorted her away. "Go, have a great day at work." Rebecca left her house and moved toward the alpha's residence. She was unable to recall the specific fire her mother had mentioned. Over the years, there had been a great deal. She hadn't really paid attention when she was younger. On her way to the location, she passed a number of the workers. She arrived at the house after they had greeted her. She learned something new about her mother's rage as a result. She must have found the day difficult. She grabbed the back of her neck and turned to face the house. She had only ever heard of her parents coming to an agreement. Their existence was ideal. Even so, despite a few exceptions, they nevertheless led a great life. Phoenix announced, "You've arrived. She exhaled and put her palm over her heart. "Yes, I've made it. You frightened me. “Sorry. I wasn't intending to. She inquired, "Have you cleaned the outside?" It appears to be a little different. While I awaited the electrical judgment, I cleaned the windows with a brush and some water. Is a thorough rewiring necessary? Rebecca enquired. “Yes. The entire house is damaged in addition to being out of date. She groaned. "My mum told me this morning that the pack came here to burn the house after, you know," Ah, yes, I do recall the burning of the alpha. “What?” Rebecca enquired. The alpha was burned, right? Alive?” Phoenix grinned. "Of course not, not at all. Alpha has already passed away. He had sacrificed the pack to save his own life. The final phrase was snarled. The women were... you know, and some of the males were dead because of that. Rebecca encircled herself in her arms. What became of the alpha, then? Phoenix returned her gaze as she glanced at him. Are you actually interested in learning the answer to that query? "Of course I do," you say. I would not have questioned. When I arrived in the town, he was still alive. He was merely targeting men and women to protect his own neck. So what took place? Rebecca was unaware of this passage. He groaned. "The elderly man stood up, looked me in the eyes, and tried to thank me for saving them all after I killed the men who were harming the pack. No pack should ever be at the alpha's mercy in such a way, the pack told me what happened. She fixed her gaze on him. "You murdered him," "I murdered him," Which is why the pack saw you as the alpha, which made perfect sense. In accordance with our laws, you replaced the other person who you killed. "Men perished, women suffered harm. I don't feel bad about it since that piece of trash didn't deserve to live. He moved in her direction. Which is yet another reason why I was attempting to safeguard you. I kill people, Rebecca. Anyone who even tries to harm you will be killed by me. Although she knew he was telling the truth, and even though it shouldn't have excited her, she did. **** Phoenix had not recently considered killing the alpha. He had conceded that it was a necessary step. For his own safety, the bastard had injured both men and women. The scumbag had extended his hand as though appreciative of the assistance. Up until the point where the pack was forced to turn against their alpha. They had yelled out to him what the alpha had done and what he had rejected. Phoenix had known long before that the alpha hadn't deserved this pack after the violence he had witnessed. Slaying him had been simple. It seemed fair to him, and now that he knew his partner had been a member of that pack, he recognized he had also helped save her. He kept an eye on her and watched for her to flee in fear. She raised two sacks. "I prepared our later lunch. Do you wish to demonstrate your previous work to me? You won't yell at me, are you? Accuse me of murder? Rebecca gave a headshake. "I don't recall exactly what happened, but I am aware that many people were injured as a result. Long subsequently, the pack underwent transformation. The curfew was imposed. Many adjustments were made, and I know that many of them were disliked since they had been unable to defend their own. You saved us. Why am I mad at you for that? "Many people would," Rebecca said, "I don't dislike you. At least not as a result of that. She gave him a smile. He fixed her with his gaze. "So, do you despise me?" She raised one hand with two fingers together. Just a little. Well, I wouldn't want my partner to dislike me too much. He stretched out his fingers and held them aloft. So I'd best show you my dreadful home to divert your attention. She began to laugh. The sound thrilled him. They began to enter after he took hold of her hand and passed it through his arm. "My lovely, as you can see, the smell of death is almost entirely gone." One more chuckle. "Never work as a realtor." He laughed. "I never wanted to do that," the person said. He wasn't repelled by her. "I believe it is only fair that I take you upstairs, or wherever the building is left to be." It can't be that horrible, I'm sure. They ascended the steps. Since they were in fact absent, they had to skip a few steps. He was forced to let her go once he got upstairs, although he did move her in front of him. His hands were on her hips. Not a floor. "Just enough to move folks around, nothing more. The electrician has already accomplished a lot. They headed for the master bedroom, where work on installing new flooring had already begun in one area. Most of them were completed by him this morning. He had agreed to return by the end of the day to complete the job after speaking to the electrician, who had to leave immediately due to an emergency. Wow," exclaimed Rebecca. "It looks... awful." "Explain it to me. It's a complete disaster. He groaned. "However, nothing irreparable. The goal is to complete the flooring before beginning work on the walls. Each room separately. Rebecca slowly twisted, which resulted in her facing him while still in his arms. "Are you feeling like leaving?" Not at all, he replied. "There's no quick fix for this," Baby, have you yet realized that I'm not the type of person who enjoys simple fixes? Some of her dark hair was tucked behind her ear by him. She c****d her head in that direction. You don't miss the freedom of the wide road, having no obligations, or your crazy, unlivable house, right? He approached closely. "Unless you're willing to come with me, I'm staying," the traveler said. "The open road doesn't have you." His lips caught Rebecca's attention, and he could tell that she secretly desired to kiss him. His desire was to kiss her. Those lips were an absolute nightmare. He was conscious of her finally being so close to him last night while he was dozing off in the guest bedroom. I'm going to kiss you, Rebecca. “Okay.” She spoke with a hint of hesitation, as if she wasn't sure whether she wanted him to kiss her or not. He said, "Tell me if you don't want this." I'm not sure what I want. He dug his fingers deep into her silky-soft hair. He drew her in by cupping the back of her head before slamming his lips into hers. Rebecca gave into him and melted. He wanted to touch her even more when the hand that wasn't carrying the meals spread out across his chest. He moved his other hand in a curving motion down her back and toward her a*s. He continued to kiss her gorgeous lips even as she let out a groan. He had been daydreaming about kissing her and probing her sexy-as-f**k mouth all night, and he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. When he heard noises below, Rebecca drew away, ending the kiss. He desired to confront those who were interfering with them. Her lips were licked. I should, you know, go make myself helpful, I guess. He remarked, "Staying at my side is helpful. Rebecca grinned and walked right by him without saying anything. He said, "Tell me what I need to do." She came to a halt and looked at him. What are you saying? What must I do to make amends to you? For you to understand that even though I was attempting to protect you, I really wanted you, God." She bit her lower lip. "I don't know," She looked away from him before turning and leaving. He experienced frustration and helplessness as he ran his fingers through his hair. He had made a serious mistake and hadn't even been aware of it back then. He despised being ignored and left out in the cold for so many years because of this. He had never been a pack member before. With Rebecca being so little, he didn't want to be apart from her. His wolf even desired to remain. The need to travel had swiftly subsided. In front of this house this morning, he had taken a look at his bike. He and Rebecca had walked the entire distance home last night, and this morning he went around the town, saying hello to everyone and interacting with them to feel a part of the entire community. His bike served as his lifeline at one point. His means of escape was to balance on the machine. to continue. not to experience the encroaching loneliness that had already begun to appear. Wolves were herd animals. They prospered together, but because he was alone, he had tried to persuade himself that he didn't require anyone. He got the opportunity to live his life without anything or anyone thanks to abandonment. Although that was a lie. A huge, enormous, effing lie. He wished not to be left alone. He felt a serenity he had never felt before each time he saw Rebecca and approached her. The need to flee had vanished completely. He had no justification for leaving. Here, in a brown-haired, brown-eyed, gorgeous, curvaceous package, was his home—his rescue. Phoenix wasn't quite sure what he needed to do to win her over or secure her pardon, but he wasn't going to give up. not at all. He followed her downstairs and observed her behind. He had spent a lot of time attempting to observe her. He despised how long she had managed to escape him. He was furious when he learned she worked at the DIY store since he was unable to think of a sensible strategy to run into her. He had been such a loser, damn it. His partner was her. It had been a mixture of pleasure and regret to see her that evening. Nothing would have satisfied him more than tossing her over his shoulder, locating the closest bed, and f*****g her until only his name was coming out of those lovely lips. For her own good, he turned her down instead.
