Chapeter 2 : Hung-over

"Bonjour" my mother the Luna, jean calls out as she is pulling back my room curtains.

i groan feel's like i haven't had a decent sleep

"good morning" i managed to grumble out. 

"get washed, and wear something decent and come down stairs for breakfast" my mother instructed

 she walks out of the room, i can tell she's a little annoyed after all i don't remember how i got in my bed or even how i got back to the house must mean i did something.

"today's not my day" 

i said out loud. before getting the energy to drag myself out my bed. . 

the shower was the best part to my morning, the heat hitting off me from the water making me feel more awake. i got out sorted my self, now i know my mother said decent but i was still feeling pretty shitty so i decided to wear my leopard print lounge pants and black ribbed long sleeve crop top, 

"it's not like I'm going to get to leave the house after last nights stunt" i said whilst looking in the mirror. 

Opaline looked back at me i could feel her happy about it.

i brushed my hair after blow drying it.

i could hear my stomach growl.. "Breakfast time" i thought, and quickly left my room

I noticed Benny one of my big brother friend's he's extremely charming and usually always makes me laugh he's the next in line for beta position he was sitting on the staircase i think he was waiting for me. 

"morning benny" 

"bonjour Natasha , someone's been a naughty girl" he said whilst giving me wink

"oh bite me!" i replied back laughing.

i was walking by him when all of a sudden he get up and say's

"Wait your not going down their dressed like that?" his eye's gawping at me. 

"it's lounge pant's and a crop top, I'm not naked" i huffed continuing to walk down the steps. 

"didn't the Luna say to wear something a bit more elegant?" he called out

i stuck my middle finger up at him and continued down the stairs, i could hear him laughing. 

i got to the kitchen door and to my surprise a strange man was sitting at the kitchen counter, i looked at him and remembered a couple of things from last night... 

"Ian right?" i said glaring at him. 

""yes princess" he replied smiling at me and bowing his head"

"how did you know my name?" he looked at me... 

"lucky guess" i said. 

i sat on the stool at the kitchen counter. next to Ian. i decided to have a roll on square sausage and fried egg, and a glass of orange juice. everything was laid out waiting like a buffet

i could hear shouting and bit of growling coming from the above floor My father's office. 

"don't worry, it's just your father and my alpha having a chat" 

i rolled my eye's and looked at him then looked to the celling 

"pretty loud for a chat" 

i kept my eyes on the celling i was thinking about what they where arguing about when Ian interrupted my train of thought and said. 

"it's about you princess" 

i stared at him unsure if i maybe had asked that out loud or if he could even read my mind. but i felt guilty maybe i really had done something embarrassing or offending to The Alpha when i got home, problem is i can't remember. 

i got up off my stool and decided that i needed to get closer to hear the conversation and if need be apologise for my actions last night. so i headed towards the stair case up to the second floor i realised that Ian was following me, i held my breath and stayed quiet whilst walking over to my father's office ready to listen to their conversation... but i think Ian must of ratted me out through his mind link because i could hear Alpha Caine saying 

"we've got company"

i walked into the room my father sat behind his desk smiling at me, 

"bonjour papa" 

"how are you feeling Natasha did you sleep okay?" my father asked 

"yes sore headache but otherwise I'm good" 

i could feel Alpha Caine staring at me, i don't understand but his stares are like magnetic i can't help but stare back i can feel opaline more than happy to be in this room he's truly a sight.  

"Natasha, what are your plans for today?" my father interrupted

i broke out of my trance and looked back at my father before i was about to answer i suddenly remembered of how he sent Sam away last night in a harsh tone

"I'm going to be calling Samuel and apologising for how he was treated by you and invite him and April over for a sleepover" 

. i was angry all these years and my father hasn't ever spoke to pack members in that matter

but i could feel alpha Caine staring at me from the side somehow i could sense what i said had made him annoyed as i could hear his teeth grind and his jaw tightly shut. 

"no Natasha, for last night's stunt your grounded" My father stated trying to snap the attention away from Alpha Caine. 

"FINE!" I growled and with that i tuned my back and stormed out his office slamming the door behind me

in the hall Ian the beta was staring i could slightly see he was trying to hold in his laughter. that soon stopped once he realised i was in deep thought and he seen the smile on my face. 

"whatever your thinking of doing ..i suggest you don't princess" he said. 

i didn't answer instead i gave him a wink and skipped past him going up the stairs was about to go to my room when suddenly im being dragged through the door of my parent's bedroom, my mother quickly shut the door and locked it. 

mother what's going on?" 

"you need to be careful sweetheart, we've got guests" the way she said the word guests sounded as if if she was disgusted with herself

"oh i know I've met them" 

my mother was biting her lip clearly having a discussion with her wolf she was deep in thought she looked very panicky and i could tell her hand's were shaking. she looked at me, slightly aware that i was clearly startled by her actions and mumbling. 

"you need to have a nap mother, it's okay" i said trying to get her to the bed to have a sleep. 

"it's not okay, you need to be safe" she kept repeating herself and clinging to me whilst i was trying to get her to lay down on her bed

"shhh shhh shhh" i kept repeating trying to calm her 

"don't tell your secret" my mother mumbled before drifting off to sleep

whatever she saw and whatever her and her wolf were speaking about seemed to drain her cause a good 15miuntes later she was sleeping hugging into me. i kept staring at my mother, the only secret i could think of was the bloodline, which is the possible reason me and my brother could shift and connect with our wolves by the age of 7. my grandmother my mother's mother was a witch not a wolf. she wasn't just any witch like my mother she was a seer, and belonged to one of the most powerful covens until it was destroyed by then it clicked.. 

"Blackcrown Pride.." i whispered. 

i looked at my mother, she was sound asleep so i slipped my hand from underneath her slowley got off her bed grabbed the blanket from the bottem of the bed and slipped it over her and crept towards the door, i remeberd she locked it i looked at the door and concentrated it suddenly clicked open. i made my way out the room closing the door behind me. 

i decided to barge my way into my brother's room to find lucas, benny and paul another future beta playing video games. they looked at me

"ever heard of knocking?" lucas said in a bored tone.

i gave him a look and shut the door and jumped on his bed making my self comfy.

"what the hell is blackcrown pride's Alpha and beta doing here?" 

lucas looked up he took a breath and said

"look, i found my mate"

"omg? lucas why didn't you tell me, what she like? what pack does she come from?"

in the back ground i could see paul and benny shaking their heads at me trying to stop me from talking.

lucas just sighed he looked really sad.

"great", paul said sarcastically

"it's took us all morning trying to cheer him up and you had to open your mouth!" he continued.

i stared at paul my blood boiling and low growling escaping my mouth

"that's enough" Lucas said looking at Paul

Paul put his head down, i can tell he's annoyed Lucas always sides with me

"what does it have to do with blackcrown pride?"

i asked eagerly wanting to know. 

lucas started to explain.

he had met his mate Ruby Jackson, she was a exchange student from Canada. the same age as lucas. she has fair light skin bright ,blue eye's and Bright red hair, she's also got a great sense of humour

"she's got a beautiful smile" lucas said 

"she sounds great, what's the problem?" i said 

lucas looks at paul and then to benny before giving me eye contact 

"she's from bloodrose pride" lucas said whispering 

i sat their unsure what to say, "tell me your joking?" 

i looked at benny "tell me he's joking?" i started to feel angry but when i looked at my brothers face. i took a deep breath and slightly calmed down, i hate seeing my brother upset , i can't blame him though the whole mate thing doesn't exactly give you any options of who your mate is even if they come from enemy packs. his wolf must be restless 

"what's father going to do about it?" i asked 

"it's not like him and Alpha Zane woods get on, don't you remember the last time they nearly ripped each other's throat out if it wasn't for our mother and Zane's luna?"

i said trying hard not to picture the memories of that night in my head.

"what's the name of his luna again?" benny asked quickly trying to change the subject

"Sarah i think" said lucas.

"that's why Alpha Caine Fitzpatrick is here, he's Zane's cousin" 

i looked not quite understanding it as were not exactly best's mates with blackcrown pride either Alpha Caine is a ruthless murderer who's killed his last two luna's and even his own father and not to mention he ruthlessly has murdered a few other alpha's and took over their packs and killed of innocent pack members that don't submit and accept.

"dad's been letting some of their young pack members come over as exchange students to our packs private school and in exchange peace" lucas said

"oh..that makes much more sense" i said.

"should be s straight forward deal then" i said smiling

the boys looked at each other paul shook his head

"it was a straight forward deal, increase the exchange student list and have ruby move over here   but not permanently..BUT after your actions last night" he scoffed.

he looked round at benny and lucas expecting them to back him up but they both stayed silent looking at the ground.

"okay spill it" i said jumping off the bed 

"it's nothing.. pauls just being an i***t" benny said 

i looked at lucas who's eye's remained glued to the floor

i could see i wasn't going to get answers from them not straight answer's anyways.

"fine don't tell me i'l go ask dad" i said firmly and proceeded to head out of lucas's room.

"your his mate" lucas shouted

i stopped and looked at lucas i instantly remembered last night being on the stair case before i passed out Alpha caine looking at me saying mate. i started to nod my head from side to side, "No!" i angrily declared and stomped out my brother's room.

i could see Alpha caines beta Ian standing by the landing staring at me he slightly bowed i showed my teeth growled at him and walked in my room slamming my door. 

suddenly a mind link come's through it's from one of my father's beta's Nathan "are you okay, i heard door's slamming"

"im fine Nathan i just got a bit of bad news is all" i said.

Nathan is benny's father. he roughly the same age as my dad both in their 50tys

before he had chance to reply i blocked the mind link. i needed time to adjust and absorb what lucas had screamed at me. and what better way was to break a few rules. 

It was only 1:23pm so i knew i would have to wait until at least 8pm to sneak out. in the mean time i need to let off some steam so i made my way to the 8th floor, making sure i wasn't noticed ian had gone by the time i went out my room, the 8th floor held the art's and music room along with the library. i can play piano usually me and lucas have jam sessions because he's like a Rockstar playing guitar i prefer the piano and vocals. my mother always encourages the classics such as Beethoven and clair de lune and Tchaikovsky so on, when it's me and my brother jamming we love pop songs such as Pink and Avril Lavigne we even love Pulp.

i started playing "Für Elise on the piano it has away of calming me making me only focus on the piano keys. Not even half way through i slam the keys down i just can't concentrate... "why me? why?" 

"clearly this is punishment" i said to opaline.

"it's not your overthinking it" she said i could almost hear her laughing. 

"this isn't fair opaline, he's killed his last two lunas and if i remember right im pretty sure he's engaged to a new luna" 

opaline wasn't happy i could feel she wasn't i could feel myself growling. 

"their Not his real mates opaline growled" 

i rolled my eyes, " he's not going to love us opaline" opaline stayed silent

" it's clear he cant" i said. 

"it will work out" opaline snapped

i looked down and whispered "i hope your right"

after the she-wolf crashed out her father quickly caught her before she hit her head. i couldn't believe it this young pretty girl is my mate. Alpha jack picks this young girl up and starts climbing the stairs. im still having thoughts about ripping that boy ..Samuel i think his name is , his face part and cutting his hands off if he ever touches my mate again. 

Natasha , alpha jack called out during her fall. 

"Natasha.. how old is she?" i asked whilst keeping my eyes on her as her father carried her up the stairs. 

"she's 15, my baby sister" Lucas replied. i was taken back although i knew she was young i didn't expect that young, she looked like she was developing well i thought at least 17, 

"she has her wolf" declared Ian alpha jack's Beta and best friend.

stared at him for a moment, then turned my attention to lucas 

 "how is that possible boy?" i questioned, i could see him hesitating to answer so i decided to stare at him trying hard not to shift, even my wolf was wanting answers 

"for generations our family have only breed with our true mates, every 100 years or so a generation will be granted our wolfs from the age of 7" Lucas said. 

i looked at him, what he's saying does make sense but i can't help think he's not explaining the full reasons

i glance at ian who also doesn't fully seem convinced i look at lucas

"interesting" i said and smiled.

Luna jean comes out the dinning room, 

"gentlemen why dont we wait for my husband in the dinning room" she says smiling. 

i nod and smile at her and head back towards the dinning room, followed by Ian 

Alpha jack come's back

"sorry about that" he says sitting back beside his luna.

"How is she?" jean asks.

"out like a light, the maid is sorting her, and nathan is outside her door" he said.

i looked at him, "who's nathan?" i didn't feel comfortable with the idea of a man even near her bedroom. 

"My beta, she's safe" jack said whilst staring at me. 

i gave him a nod and took a drink of my whiskey. Luna jean continued to speak 

"well young ruby will be very well looked after here, i can't wait to meet my new daughter in law" Lucas gave a smile to his mother. 

"plus more of our young pack member's will have a better education" ian said 

it's no secret that the Full Moon Guardians pack were one of the highly the richest like myself.. but the private residential school they have is one of the top 3 in the world. no humans but doesn't stop them applying. they also have 2 classes per day of learning to fight and self defence. every alpha always pays big money to send their young pack members at times even their own kids to the residential school usually it's limited to at least 5 members per pack. the deal tonight was to increase our packs limit instead of 5 at least 12. for the price of 8, in exchange they can have ruby Jackson from my cousins pack. but now 

"I want your daughter" i said whilst looking at Jack. 

he didn't say anything, his luna on the other hand excused herself from the table shaking her head whilst walking out the room she was followed by her son lucas 

"it's late, we can discuss things in the morning" jack replied.

i got up from the table jack extended his hand, i shook his hand and walked out the dinning room ian closely following, there was a old woman waiting by stairs she was the maid

"this way gentlemen i shall show you to your rooms" she said. 

the thought of even staying here knowing my mates somewhere here was  pleasing

Back in my room, i skipped dinner it was 7:15pm i decided i needed fresh air. now i know im not going to just be let out especially with a p*****t like Caine hanging about, my dad isnt going to take his eye's off me. so it's time to break a few rules. i quickly get changed into black biker shorts and a black tank top and my leather jacket, i put on my lace boots. and put my phone into my the pocket of the leather jacket. i turn off my room light and put pillows under my covers. i quickly grabbed my hat and opened my room window to the fire escape.

i carefully closed the window and started to walk down the fire escape being careful not to get seen through the other windows. on the 3rd floor my father and Alpha caine looking like they have came to some sort of agreement sitting having a whisky caine looks good he got suit on and a few buttons undone he looks a little tired probably because they both have been arguing all day.. about me apparently. i managed to slip by the window with being seen and continued down, until i got to the bottom and then took a run towards the high wall and jumped over it. 

"Freedom" i said to myself and was walking away towards the high street. not to far from my home stood a big block of flats. the elevator is always out of order, i made my way up the stairs and got to the red door i knocked a few times and sam answered 

"natasha.." he said sounding surprised..

i smilled then the smell of c******s hit.

now sam is apart of our pack, his mother was a wolf and father a human who's kind of dead beat grows large amounts of c******s, his father is unaware about our biology.

i walk in "i'l get the joints made"" he said smiling

we sat watching netflix and after 6 joints later i checked my phone it was 12pm. 

"s**t i need to go sam" i turned round and sam was sound asleep on the floor in front of the couch were i had been laying on

i got up turned the tv off and walked out i was pretty stoned, the outside lights seemed brighter, the streets were quiet.

i managed to jump the wall in the garden after 2 try's. getting stoned wasn't the best idea i thought as i went up to the fire escape

"s**t!" i whispered the wind must of shut over my window completely  

i tried focusing to unlock it with my magic, nothing apart from a small flicker of electricity from hands

"this is what you get natasha for having one to many" i said to my self

i looked up i could see the window open above on the 10th floor, i began climbing up the stairs until i reached the window and without even checking i climbed in, i was smiling now next step getting out this room and heading down stairs to my bed, 

"what are you doing here princess" A voice said in the dark and the lamp next to bed switched on it was Ian, alpha Caine's beta 

he was sitting up shirtless i felt a little hotter looking at him, then i realised I've been standing silent for a few minutes i smiled "i got locked out my room" i said hoping he wouldn't smell the c******s. 

"i didn't realise the guest rooms where still being used" i said to try and distract him

he kept staring at me like he was deep in thought possibly mind linking his Alpha ..

"so I'm going to go goodnight" i said whilst heading for the door 

i opened it and quickly stepped out i closed the door behind me looking up noticing Ian still hadn't moved. i made my way down the corridor relieved to see the landing to the stairs i don't know if it was maybe me being paranoid because of being stoned but i swore i heard a growl, even trying to use my senses doesn't help i can hear and feel everything especially the loudness of my own heart beating. i could feel it getting hot maybe because of the air conditioning is due to be fixed for the 10th floor next week, then i seen a shadow figure by the last door next to the staircase 

"why were you in Ian's room" a cold voice speaks out

i instantly recognise the voice, Alpha Caine

i stopped and starred at him "wrong room!" i said. trying to walk past hoping that was the end of this akward encounter. obviously not as he stepped in front of me blocking my path. i was having mixed feelings scared yet somewhat secure feeling, i tried avoiding his gaze because i knew if looked into his eye's i wouldnt be able to move,

he smiled and grabbed at my jacket pocket i tried hitting his hand away, he just shock his head and smirked, he was a lot stronger and he kept a firm grip on the my jacket pocket using his other hand to pull out my lighter and the joint i was saving for later, "naughty girl" he said smiling like he was teasing he then moved towards one of the room doors opening it making his way to the balcony doors.

"hey look that's not mine" i said following him into the room towards the balcony. i was worried he was going to toss them. but to my surprise he lit the joint and took a drag whilst standing next to the railing.

"don't worry princess i wont tell" he said smirking he then held out my lighter i took it from him and steped a bit closer he handed me the joint i took a few puffs, leaning on the railing.

"you and my dad sorted your deal out then?" i asked passing him the joint, 

"let's just say we've came to a compromise" he said,

i felt a bit awkward but this was my last joint, no way in hell was i leaving until i had decent amount of puffs to help me sleep, sam packed this joint with weed before he fell asleep so i knew the effects were going to hit me harder.

we shared the joint back and forth, making small talk in between such as the weather, and some jokes. i could listen to his Irish accent all day,

"do you smoke this often?" he said,

"only when im grounded or stressed" i said. he smiled

"pretty dangerous for a young lady to be walking by herself at night" he said. 

"i can handle myself" i said staring at him.

the joint was done i took the last puff and put it out on the railing. 

"well thanks for that, im going to bed" 

i went to turn back around, Caine grabbed my arm his eye's weren't his but his wolfs they changed from his cooling grey colour to red i stood for a moment frozen my heart was racing  i suddenly could sense his wolf he wasn't happy even a little sadness about me leaving.

i put my hand on caines hand that was grabbing onto my arm, not breaking our stare, "It's okay balthazar" i said calmly rubbing caines hand it was enough to snap the Alpha out of it and his normal eye colour returned, "you know my wolfs name?" he said

"opaline my wolf she told me it's the name of her mate" i said, i then quickly let go of his hand and he let go of my arm, i headed towards the door 

"goodnight" i said whilst walking away.
