Chapter 3

Sasha “Last night was short, get on the counter, baby” Damien commanded and Sabrina obeyed. My face was twisted in confusion as I watched both of them. This isn’t real, right? Last night. The sound of moans, the wet skins slamming against each other…. That was my sister, f*****g with my mate? My heart clenched and my hands trembled from shock. I stood frozen at a spot, eyes lingering on the people in front of me. I didn't mean to watch, but I watched as my mate f****d my sister with his fingers. He shifted her skirt, grinning loudly. “Just like always” he dragged in her scent. “No panties” “Because I'm always ready to have you take me anywhere” Sabrina's breath came in ragged gasps. I didn't know how long I stood there, watching a scene that made my heart break into pieces, listening to sounds that kept making tears roll down my eyes. For a moment, I wanted to believe this could be a prank, a cruel one but I would be stupid to continue thinking that. I stumbled backwards, the sound of my feet which dragged against the floor, making my presence known to the both of them. Their faces snapped, but there was no hint of remorse in those eyes. Nothing but eyes filled with disdain. Sabrina rolled her eyes and got off the counter, staring back at me fiercely. “Sabrina, tell me this is not true” My voice cracked, words breaking amidst sobs. Sabrina stormed to me, connecting her hand with my face the moment she arrived at my side. My hand flew to my face to hold my burning cheeks. My eyes widened in shock and my lips trembled. I turned my face back to her, my eyes filled with tears. “Sabrina?” “You've been watching us?” She scoffed. “Have some dignity and respect, Sasha!” It was hard to believe my ears. Did I just hear her say dignity? “You are not one to preach to me about dignity, Sabrina” Again, she slapped me hard across the face, forcing my face to snap to the side. “You don't talk back to your sister like that!” “And my sister don't betray me like this!” I tried to scream, but my voice only failed me, tears dropping in lines like raindrops. “My sister don't go behind my back to f**k my mate!” “You should have told me you want him, you shouldn't have given me hope that I can be with him” My lips trembled and my eyes roamed Sabrina's in search of answers. Why did she do it? Why did she encourage me when she wants Damien for herself? Why did she pretend to care about me?! “Oh, I'm sorry” Sabrina pouted, saying sarcastically. “I couldn't tell you. If I have to use you, I should use you well” I didn't understand her and wasn't even given time to process her words. Damien, who had been leaning against the counter with his hands in his pocket, walked to us. “You must be so dumb, Sasha.” His face twisted in disgust. “To think I will settle for someone like you!” “But I have the mark, Damien. The moon goddess had chosen me, for you” I tried to make him understand, or was I just being desperate? “I don't care about the mark.” His eyes darkened. “You were just a substitute used to bring me my queen” He wrapped his hands around Sabrina's waist, pulling her closer to himself. The both of them locked lips, sucking each other right in front of me. “I hate you both! f**k the both of you!” I cried in desperation. Damien released his hold on Sabrina and faced me. “Show up at the hall, Sasha. We need to end this” He walked away, smiling so tenderly at Sabrina. That soft look on his face was what I had desperately wished to be shown just once. But for six months, he never showed me, never made me feel loved. But with Sabrina, it's different. With Damien gone, I was left with my sister who watched my miserable state with a smirk on her face. “Did you really think you could get the alpha?” She laughed. “Stop dreaming so big, Sasha. You are just an Omega” Her words made anger rise in me and for a moment, I refused to believe she's the sister who had always taken my side and always encouraged me. She took my side instead of Damien's, created excuses for him just to make me feel better but what? She's together with him? “You are just the same, Sabrina!” I spat. “A lowly omega just like me, don't think you are any different” Her expression changed and she went silent, reeling in the pain my words caused her. She lifted her hand to slap me again, but I've had enough. I held her hand firmly, preventing her from crossing the line any further. “I've had enough, Sabrina” I released her hand with force, my sudden boldness shocking her to the core. “f**k the both of you, I hope you live long together in misery” Fuck him, f**k her, f**k the mate bond. I'll reject him right in front of everyone! I headed back to the hall, my insides burning with rage, eyes blurred with tears. I took a turn into the hallway leading to the hall, but suddenly bumped into someone. It was my fault, I knew, but I needed someone to unleash my rage on, for what Sabrina and Damien had done to me. “Will you f*****g look straight when you walk?” I snapped at the man beside me. He was dressed in a light blue tuxedo, his hair slicked to the back, and his frame broad. Enough of the stare. I turned and resumed walking, entering the hall and storming towards Damien. Before I could reach Damien, he turned to the elders. “Let the ceremony proceed” I blinked. What was he trying to do after what just happened? Shouldn't he be trying to reject me? Before I could make another step to reach out to Damien, one of the elders stepped forwards, reading vows from a book and chanting some unknown words. “Halt the celebration” Someone roared from the back. Amelia stormed in with a darkened gaze, followed by two of the pack guards. Her gold hair and tanned skin radiated under the golden chandeliers, giving glow to her elegance. “What is the issue?” Damien asked. “She can't be your Luna. She's a thief! You can't mate her!” She pointed a hand accusingly at me. Wait, what? I stepped forward, confused. “What do you mean?” Why was I being accused of theft in front of hundreds of people? “What is the matter?” One of the elders stepped in. I was forced into silence while Amelia was given the chance to make explanations. “She stole my diamond necklace!” Amelia spat. I was so confident because it wasn't true, but was shocked to the bone marrow when she provided evidence, including a witness. “I didn't do it” I turned to Damien quickly. “Trust me, I didn't do it” I attempted to grab Damien's hand, but he yanked his hand away, avoiding me like I'm some kind of filth. “You are a thief,” Damien spat. “I can't have someone like you rule the pack” “I, Damien Blake, reject you, Sasha Delano” His sister just framed me. He just rejected me. Across the hall, my gaze locked with Sabrina's and a smug smile was on her face. The realization hit me and threatened to knock me down. Amelia wasn't the only one who planned this, they all did it together. They are trying to get rid of me.
