Chapter 5
my eyes are heavy and I struggle to open them. I can hear voices outside the door and I am trying really hard to listen to what they say.
"of course I did but she is his daughter and was being beaten Jamie. I understand what this will mean. What would you have done to protect her?" I could hear the anger in Kelly's voice rising. then I heard another voice. a deeper voice, a mans voice.
"This could mean war Kel. over and Omega and the pack doctor? there has got to be more to this story you are not telling me." he sounded pissed. There was a pause, "Well.. what happened Kelly?"
"Fine, I have watched that poor girl be beaten and continuously put down, she has been miss treated and when you see her, you will see how skinny she is. She never got enough food for her to eat. She was in my practice every day, being treated for one beating or another... but, the day I called you Ashley came into my practice, barley wearing anything and what she had on was torn. She was beaten and her face was swollen and coated in blood.." I could hear Kelly starting to sob. she took a big breath and continued her story "The Alpha of our pack, he cornered her as she was cleaning and... well... he tried to r**e her. She got away because he was too cocky for his own good and when he chased her he fell knocking himself out. She came to me and was terrified Jamie. She said they were going to kill her so I got her out and to safety." I could hear the man start to talk but I drifted back into sleep before I made out what he was saying.

I am your wolf little pup. I have been dormant for far too long and should have been there for you. but you blocked me out the day your father died and have lived in your solace. but I have come through to you now.
why? why have you come to me now. I have gotten on just fine without you. managed to live with my pain without you.. why now?
Because little pup, I smell our mate...
with that my wolf left me. those words ringing in my ears as I started to wake from my sleep. Kelly is sitting in the chair in the corner of the room. I take stock of where I am. the room is quite big, there is a large TV and bed with what looks like an on suit too. the smell here is amazing. I can quite put my finger on what it reminds me of. just then I notice that Kelly is starting to wake as the sun starts to beam through the window.
"how long have I been out" I whisper to myself.
"almost two days now." Kelly replies. she stretches and makes her way over to me and sits on the edge of the bed.
"hi." i say smiling at her. she looks a little guilty.
"hey, so.. you remember getting into the truck right?" I nodded in my response
"well, you started to thrash about and you were screaming in your sleep. I was worried for you and that you would give us away so .. I gave you a sedative." she almost whispered the last words. she looked up at me sheepishly before I started to laugh.
"what is so funny Ashley? I thought you would have been mad at me?" she says to me with a tinge of annoyance in her voice.
"I ... am.... not..... mad..." I say between laughs. "I just realised that it worked. you did it, you beautiful crazy person. you got us out of there and we are alive" we don’t have to live in fear any more I told my wolf.

that’s funny, I could have sworn she told me she was there. was that a part of my dreams? since I have not been allowed to shift for so long she may come back to me after I go for a run?
"Kelly?" she looked up at me "where are we?" I asked looking out of the window watching the sun come up and some of these new pack members start their training.
"well, we are just outside of Melbourne. an hour or so drive away from the centre of Melbourne to be exact. why Ash?" she queried me with a funny gaze.
"oh, its nothing.. you just never told me where it was we were going when we left and I didn’t have the state of mind to ask at the time. that’s all" I smiled. I was ready to get up and have a shower. I sniffed my body and froze.. I could still smell that dirty bastard on me..
"Kelly, where can I go to wash? his smell.. his smell is still on me." I just about screamed the words at her when she showed me where the shower was. she told me where I could find some clothes and towels and told me she would be back in an hour to bring me to meet this packs Alpha.
I spent a lot of time in the shower ant really caring, I washed my body what felt like 100 times just to get the smell oh his off me. when I was finally ready I jumped out ad dried myself and my hair. I wrapped my body up in the towel and made my way to the bedroom.
MATE!!!
What?
Our mate is close little pup.
The voice of my wold started me. She caused me to bump into one of the side tables knocking over the lamp sending a loud crash trough the room.
