Chapter 16

Craig POV

Today is the day. Do I make a choice to let them leave or keep them here with me and hope she and I are mates?

‘Alpha, I will be late to the signing. Ashley is unwell. I think it’s the beginning of her shift but I cant be sure’

‘right, take your time. Make sure she is well before you leave her. We will be waiting.’ Great, of all the days that child gets sick it had to be today. Another Alpha is coming to sign a peace treaty and possibly take my mate away. I couldn’t have her mother, but maybe I could have her.

The day proceeded as normal, we greeted the other pack, Alpha and the Alphas child.. who brings their daughter to a meeting? She was tiny, she couldn’t be older than 14. I explained the absence of my missing Beta and informed him that he would not be far away.

“daddy, will the new girl be my best friend?” asked the child to her father

“I think you two will become fast friends pet. Go into the other room and wait for us there. We wont be much longer.” He cooed to her.

What? He cant take her. The transfer was only for him… he.. i… NO!

I lost control of my emotions. He couldn’t take her from me. She could be my second chance at a happy life. I saw red, the other Alpha tensed and growled at me, causing his guards to shift and stand between us in a defensive stance. That was enough to tip me over, feeling like I am being threatened by lesser wolves. Everything happened in a blur. I remember taking down his guards, him shifting, we fought, I won… what came next surprised me. James came barrelling through the door taking in the sight. Me covered in so much blood and the Alpha dead on the ground along with his guards.

“WHERE IS THE CHILD?” he growled at me. All I could do was stare at him… “WHERE?” he yelled again.

“in another room, she was told to wait there.” I told him, regaining myself.

“you killed another Alpha, for no reason. Craig this is not good.” James told me.

“ I killed him because he threatened me.. YOU!” I pointed my finger at him. “THIS IS YOUR FAULT!!! YOUR TAKING HER FROM ME AGAIN!” I roared. Realisation crossed James face. He knew who I meant. I started to shake in my anger and without realising, I began to shift. James growled back at me and shifted into his own wolf. We fought, but I was stronger than he was. It didn’t take me long, I ended his life. I took back my human form and dropped my body into my chair when the doors burst open, revealing a very fatigued Ashley.

She looked at me before looking around, finding her father lifeless body. I went to go to her and hold her, but I couldn’t. it wasn’t my fault, this was hers! If it wasn’t for her and their attempts to leave me I wouldn’t have acted this way.

“THIS IS YOUR FAULT!” I yelled at her. She looked at me nodded and left.

~ skip forward two years ~

As it turned out, Ashley wasn’t my mate. But that didn’t mean I didn’t want her. She was always teasing me, shifting her body to tease my senses. She was so innocent. She also took a lot of s**t from the pack because of me and the way I treated her, but I vowed to make her my Luna and have the pack bow down to her.

Ashley wandered into the kitchen wearing some very short shorts and a white almost see through shirt. “what the f**k are you wearing?” I hissed at her. She stopped dead, spun around and looked straight at me. My Beta and third took this as a sign to join in. “she looks like a w***e” said one. “she can spend the night in my bed tonight” said the other. I ignored them, knowing I would punish them for their comments later. I walked over to her, grabbed her by the shoulders and slammed her against the wall. “you will not wear those clothes in this pack house again! Do you understand me?” I asked her. She nodded and I released her. I left the pack house, behind me I could hear a whimper and some scuffling. I knew what was happening but she needed to learn that she couldn’t dress that way. I hate the way she makes me feel. I went into my office and found my whiskey bottle. I finished the bottle, unsure of the time, I decided to take a cold shower and try and sober up.

When I got to my room I found Ashley on her hands and knees, her shorts exposing her backside to me. I told her not to wear those clothes again I hissed. I decided to have some fun with her and get her to fall for me.

"Why are you in my room little flower?” I asked her. She looked at me like I was stupid.

I want her back now!” her scent led us to the clinic.. of course she would go to her. I slammed open the door but there was no one here. I followed their scent to the back room where it disappeared. There was a small hatch on the floor, when I opened it I could smell them both, but there was no way I could fit down there. “find me someone that can fit down here and find them” I growled. I knew where they would be heading. I would get her back.
