Ravenna's POV "You asked for me, Uncle?" I had only just come in, and Zeke had his back turned to me. The tension in his muscles the moment he heard my voice was proof that he hated the idea of me. My eyes narrowed into slits when I realized this. Was there something I was missing? I tried to tone down my racing heart as I gulped. He called me to his office, and I thought to myself, maybe the events from earlier were just my imagination. My uncle had always treated me very nicely. Never had he once been cold to me, so I had no choice but to test him. If my memory doesn't fail me, it was a slight mistake that led to a kiss, which brewed the lust in our hearts. If I were to avoid and prevent that moment from happening, then my plan could easily work. Right now, all I have to focus on is Catherine. She’s going to suffer bit by bit until all she wants is to die. But I won't give her that easily. The corner of my lips tugged upward as I watched Zeke slowly turn, giving me a breathtaking look at his front view that knocked the air out of my lungs. His hair was sleek and wet, with water dripping down his skin. He stared at me with such deep intensity that I shuddered. "I apologize for the way I treated you earlier, Rave. Hope you can forgive your sweet uncle?" he asked, tilting his head, a playful smile hanging at the corner of his lips. His hands opened, urging me to run to him. I pressed my lips into a thin line as I looked at his extended hands. I gulped. If my memory fails me and I run into his arms, we might end up doing something that would push us back to the cycle I was trying so hard to prevent. So, I had no choice. "You don't have to apologize, okay? You may have been stressed, so I understand. If that's okay with you, I’ll return to my room." He raised an eyebrow at my behavior, and I blinked innocently at him. He dropped his hands, and I felt the weight on my back slide down, earning a silent sigh of relief from my lips. "How about dinner at 8?" he asked, and I chuckled, shaking my head. A cold glint flashed in my eyes as I narrowed them at him. "I have juicy plans for that hour, Uncle. Something that would bore you, so maybe another day?" I hinted, and he nodded, releasing a deep sigh. Not wanting to linger any longer, I did a slight bow of my head and then turned to leave. I could feel the weight of his stare on my back, but I didn’t flinch. I rushed out of his office. ‘And if all this f***s up?’ my wolf suddenly spoke up, and I sighed heavily again. ‘Then only I would pay for it.’ That’s what I said, but I had no plans of failing, especially since Catherine would fall into my trap right about... now. True to my expectations, I bumped into Catherine just as I turned the corner. She mumbled curses as she massaged the ache on her forehead. "It's you!" she snapped as her eyes finally found mine. I remained calm, keeping my back ramrod straight as she looked down at me, venom spitting from her eyes. "Yes, it’s me. Sis..." I rolled my eyes as I gazed at her finger pointed at me. It would be great if that finger could just be gone right now. But I had to remain calm. "What were you doing in Uncle's office?" she asked. I tilted my head to the side, giving her a narrowed look. "Since when do you care about what I do, Sis?" I made sure to draw out my words while looking at her with a blank expression. She gritted her teeth as she glared at me, but I couldn’t help noticing the way she clenched her jaw. My eyes glanced at someone in particular who stood behind her, and a cold smile graced my lips. "Why the hell are you smiling?" she snarled. I chuckled. She was so innocent, and I wondered to myself why I feared this person so much in my past life. I was weak, but she was weaker without her minions, and we were in the hallway—there was no way she would raise her hand against me, especially now that Uncle had returned. "See you later, sweet Sis." My eyes crinkled as I grinned at her, excitement bubbling in my heart as the person behind her suddenly raised his hand and shoved a black bag over Catherine's body. No matter how much she struggled and clawed at the bag, it just wouldn't budge. "Now run along. I’ll meet you at the warehouse," I instructed the man in the black mask, who grunted before disappearing into thin air. I glanced over my shoulder, making sure that no one was watching. Even if they were, I would know from the onset. Taking a deep breath, I sighed. The excitement in my blood was exhilarating, but I had to calm down. There was going to be a long night ahead of us. The software had been installed on my phone, so I think it would be just like killing two birds with one stone. With that in mind, I rushed towards my room to get dressed. After a few minutes, I was dressed in black leather pants and a black shirt with my signature butterfly mask covering half of my face. I made sure not to leave out my signature red lipstick as a cold smile graced my lips. Just wait and see, Catherine. I would be sure to give you a show you would never forget. ******* "Who is there?! Where is this?! I promise you, once I get my hands on you—" "What are you going to do, Miss Catherine?" I settled into the seat positioned before her. One of my men stood behind her, removing the sack that covered her head. It wasn't hard to get this small basement on the outskirts of the city; at least there was only one bulb illuminating the place, which hung above Catherine, making me feel stronger—which I probably am. She must have cried because her makeup was smudged, and she stared at me in confusion and anger. At first, my heart thumped in fear once her eyes met mine. But the usual Catherine would rain curses on me the moment she knew it was me. Yet, she was quietly observing me, taking steady puffs of air from her lips. She was fuming mad, and I enjoyed her this way. The redness in her eyes and the little flare of her nose—she was like an angry bird about to burst. This little action of hers made a smirk tug at the corner of my lips. Grabbing her chin and pulling her face closer to mine, I glared into her trembling eyes. I could hear her heartbeat from here. "What do you want?" she stammered. "You seem to have crossed paths with the wrong person, missy. And I’m sure this person wants to get rid of you." She glanced to the side and then back at my eyes before furrowing her brows. She must be confused because, in her little mind, she was loved by all. Bummer—I was going to dash those delusions piece by piece. "That's—that's impossible! Everyone loves me!" "Ah, maybe they do... But think hard. Who do you think would do this to you?" I waited for her to at least have an inkling. There was a flash of surprise in her eyes before they crisscrossed with doubt. ‘She is belittling you,’ Vienna scoffed internally, and I smiled. I didn’t know why, but the thought of her doubting that I could be responsible brought a thrum of happiness drumming through my veins. "Let's skip the small talk and get down to business." I yawned lazily as I pushed off the seat and approached the table where my men had placed a variety of meat and noodles. She squinted her eyes through the darkness as she stared at me, and I chuckled at her little attempts. Even if she were to scream, no one would hear her. "You're going to leave me here and eat?!" She gnashed her teeth and glowered at me. I could feel the intensity of her gaze on my cheek. Scary, much. "Oh no, you're also going to have your fill, so don't worry. You're in the best hands." I leaned in and rested my head against my propped-up hand. She gave me this skeptical look that made me chuckle. She had quite the wild expression right now with all that smudged makeup. She was right where I needed her. "Come in, boys." My voice thundered through the empty space, and man after man poured in. Even I was shocked at the numbers. Were there, like, 10? Nah, that had to be like 20. My blood pumped with excitement. "Wait. Who are these men?!" Horror had finally flashed in her eyes, and I crossed my arms, giving her a taunting smile. "Have your fill, Miss Catherine."
