Ravenna's POV
Something was different. I felt different—a new power surged inside me, one I had never had before.
'The moon goddess decided to give you a better life.'
My wolf, who had never spoken before, suddenly whispered to me. Her voice was sweet and soft, but I didn’t know what to think.
I remembered where it all began—just before the start of winter, before the mating ceremony. There was only one thing I needed to do.
I leaned forward, staring into the mirror. The dark circles under my eyes were gone, my lips no longer cut and bruised. My skin looked smooth, practically glowing as if I had never been beaten. In my past life, looking in the mirror used to terrify me; I would always wish for a mask to hide my ugly appearance.
'You’ve been given the rare chance to live as a normal werewolf, but stronger than your peers. What will you do with this power?'
Vienna’s voice echoed in my mind. I closed my eyes, taking a painful breath, memories of the past flashing through me—each one as vivid as the last. Catherine had always been the one holding the knife.
In this life, there was only one person I wanted to see suffer—Catherine.
"First, we’ll deal with Catherine," I breathed out in a dark, primal tone, hardening my expression as I stared at my reflection.
No more weak Rave. I’m going to do whatever the f**k I want in this life.
But the first thing I had to focus on was the return of my uncle. I needed to get the resources ready. 'Zeke... I wasn’t able to love you until death in my past life. This time, I’ll love you with everything—heart, body, and soul.'
A soft knock echoed in the room, one I had been expecting. I crossed my arms, waiting for the moment—
BANG!
The door fell off its hinges, and two women stormed in with Catherine trailing behind.
"Grab her!" Catherine ordered, and the two girls seized my arms, shoving me to the ground. Catherine strutted toward me, and one of the girls yanked my head up, forcing me to face Catherine’s disgusting smirk.
I gritted my teeth, holding back the burning hatred coursing through me. Her smile wavered, her eyes flickering with uncertainty as they lingered on my face.
I scoffed. "What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue, Cat?" I taunted, using the same words she’d thrown at me in the past, struggling to escape their hold.
I could’ve easily broken free, but I wanted her to believe I was still the weak Ravenna who couldn’t stand up for herself.
It wasn’t time for her to see the real me.
She slapped me across the face, and the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. I swallowed it down, counting in my head, 'One.' A crazed smile crept across my lips.
Catherine noticed the blood and, with renewed fury, grabbed my head, slapping me over and over. Each strike fueled the rage inside me, but I counted each slap, my excitement clouding the anger.
She kept roaring, and I wanted to ask, 'What have I done to make you so angry?' But Catherine was too far gone, too wicked for words. Death would be too easy for her.
When her hand grew sore, she finally stopped. The girls released me, and I dropped to the floor.
"Haa... that felt good," Catherine sighed, and I chuckled quietly.
"This is what you deserve, Ravenna. You’re nothing but my personal punching bag." She laughed with malice. She was never a sister to me—just a demon born into my family.
No. I wouldn’t raise my head to glare at her. I wanted her out of my room. Sensing my silence, she spat on the floor and left with her little spiders.
As soon as they were gone, I stood and faced the broken door. "Watch your back, Catherine," I growled, my fists clenched, fire burning in my eyes as if she were still standing before me.
'There’s no more time to waste.'

8:00 pm: Vonsyke Pack. The Alpha Return Party.
"You won’t tell me why you need these cameras, huh? And what’s with the mask? Girl, what are you playing at?" Saphie demanded, shaking my shoulders for answers.
I pulled her hands away, chuckling darkly. "There’s nothing for you to worry about, love. I just need to install a few cameras for... purposes. Nothing you need to concern yourself with," I reassured her, patting her shoulder.
Saphie, with her signature red hair, harrumphed, flipping her hair dramatically as she chose to ignore me.
Sometimes I wondered why I didn’t just buy the cameras from the black market. Yet, I’d come to her. Maybe because I trusted her to give me cameras no one would ever notice.
A camera even a naked eye couldn’t spot—because what I was going to do would require an invincible camera.
I had successfully installed the cameras. Now, I just had to wait for my uncle to arrive. My heart thudded wildly in my chest. I wished I could appear as calm as I looked, but internally, I was trembling.
Though it felt like yesterday, I feared things wouldn’t work out as I’d planned—that we were doomed to repeat our fate. I clenched my arms tightly as a shiver ran down my spine.
"Are you okay?" A man approached, his voice laced with concern. I rolled my eyes, side stepping him.
This was a party for my uncle, not a place for desperate men trying to score.
"Get a life," I taunted, quickly leaving the scene and heading for the balcony. I’d chosen a black dress to meet my uncle after so long. Little did I know it would attract unwanted attention and annoy Catherine, who had spent the whole evening watching me.
Jobless as always. She couldn’t even enjoy the party, too busy keeping an eye on me.
I raised my glass of cocktail to my lips, taking a light sip, and leaned against the railing, gazing at the moon high in the sky.
Hopefully, the days ahead would be just as beautiful. My wounds from earlier had healed completely in minutes—far faster than my recovery rate in my past life.
Just as I took another sip, I heard the crowd’s cheers. I turned sharply, my heart leaping in my chest. I took steady breaths, placing a hand over my racing heart.
He was here.
I pushed through the crowd, standing beside Saphie, who was glued to her phone while the other girls drooled over my uncle.
He looked just like I remembered—dark chocolate hair, foggy mint-blue eyes that seemed to consume everything with a single glance.
And then his eyes found me.
The world froze. We were both locked in a stare-down, everything else fading away.
I clenched my fists, fighting the urge to run into his arms. In my past life, he would’ve walked straight to me, lifting me up like any normal uncle would.
But... my eyes widened as he turned away, not sparing me another glance. My heart clenched painfully at the coldness in that single action.
What? Normally, he’d come to hold me in those strong, masculine hands. So why? Why now?
"It seems you’re not your uncle’s favorite anymore... Damn." Saphie leaned in, taunting me. I gritted my teeth, clenching my fists as I tore my gaze away from Zeke, who was now deep in conversation with Catherine.
"There’s definitely something wrong here," I whispered, trying to calm myself, my fists slowly relaxing as I realized I’d stopped breathing.
'Do you want to carry on with the plan?' Vienna asked.
'Definitely.' It was either this plan, or nothing at all. Whether he doesn't give me face or not, I will have him—and anyone in my way will be removed.
