"Give me a hint, at-least." I insisted. I always do it and it always works. "A hint, huh?" he joked."Okay, you won't love it that much." "What?" I cracked. My eyes were all worried about it, but I had no choice of turning back because he was driving. His smile was endlessly irritating. I knew exactly what was happening. He packed the car, and across stood Angela. "Angela? "Really, James?" I sniffed, very pissed and all. "I couldn't wait any longer. So get the hell out of the car and go apologize. " James chuckled. I took my hand slowly to unlock the door. I got out of the car and as soon as I did, James raced off and left me behind. "Shit." I injured my ankle trying to get angry. Angela came to help me up to my feet, but I refused. She insisted and lifted me up, taking me to the stairs of her home. Went in to get some meds and bandages. "Why are you so helpful? like? Why are you helping me? " I asked her eagerly. "Well, because you're silly, delicate, and I like you." She replied. My ears had heard her right. "You like me? "Why?" I asked again. "I told you, dummy. Do I need to explain why I like people? That's silly. She sarcastically replied. I couldn't believe Angela liked anybody more than me. "Sorry about earlier today." I apologized. "Oh, no offense intended."You're just this silly know-it-all girl who doesn't bother me at all. " She chuckled insultingly. "I could take back the apology, you know that right?" "I never asked you to apologize in the first place, dummy." But seriously, Thank you for helping me out there. It was a lot to take in. I breathed. "It's a lot to take in, Kathryn. And you can't lie to me. I know it still hurts. "The humiliation, the voices of those idiots laughing," she growled. "You want to come in?" "Sure. Thank you. " Trying to get me up on my feet We went in. Her parents were having dinner, so I said a little hello to them and she took me up to her room. He kicked the door open and led the way. Her room was wild and full of comics. She hurriedly covered a book that was open on her working table. I took out a seat for myself and headed down the stairs to grab us coffee. I stayed staring at her work. She was great at art. Every picture looked so passionate, even to my eyes who couldn't doodle right on the paper. "So you love art.. huh?" I chuckled when she headed in with two cups of coffee. "No. I love what I draw. Not art. " "You're not that good at being in a conversation, are you?" I insinuated "Yeah," she snapped. "Why are you not with your parents downstairs?" They don't think I am their daughter. But you can't send me out of the house. " "What? Why? Aren't they? " Putting my coffee down. "Because I am a lesbian. They are my parents. Does it bother you?" She looked me in the eyes. I was clearly bothered but couldn't show it to her face. "No No! Not at all. I always thought you people were dope. " I insincerely answered. "I know. You can't even say it right? Let's get you home already. It's late. " She tuned in to her worst mood. How did I hope that it would last? Keeping a conversation with her for about thirty minutes could earn you a golden medal. "Sure." I replied, annoyingly. She picked up her car keys and we headed down the stairs. took her jacket off the hook and pulled the door open. "Get in the car." She ordered "You don't have to take me home, Angela." I proposed. Well, that's very silly of you if you think I won't take you home. Your puppet made me promise I would. So get in the damn car, dummy. " She insisted. "Dummy. Puppet. " I silently snapped. She drove hurriedly as if we were being chased, and in no time, we were at my house. I saw my mother picking out the window, surely questioning what kind of car it was. I picked up my jacket, opened the car up and headed out. I wasn't going to say goodnight, but I had no choice. Did I? "Goodnight." I silently snapped. "Goodnight to you too, DUMMY." she replied. I couldn't get any more pissed off. She raced off her car and left. I opened the door and there my mum stood waiting for some gossip. "Who was that?" she asked. "Um... someone." "Somebody." "Um... someone mom." I drilled. "Have I seen her before?" She is familiar. " She thought. "Well. I think from the video of me naked. She is the one who came to my rescue. " I niddled my fingers. "Oh. Why didn't you let her in? I would have loved to say hi. " She sizzled. She isn't the type of mom. Can I just go to bed? " "How about your dinner, honey?" "I am not hungry. Goodnight, mom. " "Goodnight. Tomorrow I am coming to your school, remember?" "Oh no." I crunched. "You did mean that." The morning wasn't that exciting. Mom still insisted on meeting with the principal. She made breakfast earlier than ever before, making me realize she was on point. Got the car ready to race off. "Mom, can't you just let it go?" I tightened my seat belt. "Hopefully not." She replied. The school was just fifteen minutes away from home, and in no time, we arrived. She took her seat belt off, junked the car keys in her purse, and headed out of the car. "Really, mom?" She grabbed me by the hand. "It's embarrassing, don't you think?" She then let me go. A few walks and we were in the principal's office. He was seated looking at the back, but I could spot his cute little smile at us. "Hello, principal." My mom spoke "Hello, Ms. Daniels." He turned. His dark blue eyes had me shivering. His lips when he finished saying "Daniels" were fascinating. "Please have a seat." "Thank you, sir." She replied "I know what brings you here, Ms. Daniels." He settled. "I am really sorry for what happened to your darling daughter. I promise every single one of those kids will be punished. He was so flirtatious with me when speaking of what a darling I was. "Thank you, Mr. Principal. I hope they do. I'd better get going. My mom cleared her throat. "Thank you, Ms. Daniel's." I headed out, not taking my eyes off him, and almost knocked James off. "See you at home, Kathryn." Well, I thought you were going to go crazy in there. What happened? I just um... didn't want to embarrass you in front of your... um... principal. " "Let's not talk about it. Have a great day, mom. " I smiled uncontrollably.
