I cracked my already injured ankle.
"Ouch."
"How was last night?" James giggled.
"Well, you left me alone with a psycho, you pervert." I angrily replied.
"You made it worse, didn't you?"
"She made it worse. Well, I managed to apologize. So... um... you win now.
"Hello! Good morning you two. " Angela startled James and I.
"Do you have any manners at all, Angela?" I grinned.
"Yes! Oh... yes I do. And to show I do, how about I make up for how I treated you last night? "Coffee?"
Her eyes were all crowned in pride.
"Yes... oh yes." James answered on my behalf.
"What the hell is wrong with you, James?" I scoffed. "You can't live with me with this Luna.." seriously.
"That makes the two of us. It's a date. I will pick you up. Bye. " She bounced away.
I couldn't believe her. I'm not saying I was so scared by the word date, but I was enraged. James tried to grab my hand, but I refused.
"It's a date..." ha." James ran in class fast, causing me to pick up my anger tolerance mode.
I went in and picked up my seat way far away from Angela and James. It was Abigail's seat. She wouldn't confront me to return it, so she went and sat with James. stayed silent all lesson long. When lunch approached, my anger was gone and I wanted my bestie back, but he was busy chatting with Abigail.
I tightened my fingers on my lunch tray and headed off to see Angela.
"May I?" I asked for the seat.
"Well, if you feel like it, feel at home." She replied.
With all my guts with me, I tried another conversation with her. I placed my tray at the table, pulled my chair over and sat. It took quite a while for me to start talking to her, about five minutes. Then I went.
"Why are you such a loner?" I stated
"And you? Why are you such a loner? " She threw the question back to me.
"Well... I am not a loner. I've got James... how about you?Who do you have? "
"Well.. um... I've got my books and my drawings. They are lovely friends if you give them a chance. " She smiled.
For once, I saw her smile and that was right there. She had a gorgeous smile indeed, but she really did keep it well hidden.
"So how about we cancel the coffee date and you just go show me your work?" I proposed.
"Well.. that's better, I think... deal."
Lunch was done and we all headed to our next class. ballet. James loved ballet. We almost shared every class apart from basketball. Well, I played basketball and he played football. Today, he was an annoying flirt.
In particular, Abigail in particular, I had never seen in a ballet lesson till today. She stands all untrimmed and annoying next to James, trying to impress him.
She has been called a bot all around the school for her unceasing character. unrealistic behavior and a thick mustache. Apparently, the p*****t is flirting with her.
"Miss. Daniels?" Ms. Roberts startled me.
"You're doing all the moves wrong." She insinuated
I wasn't doing any moves at all. I was just there standing thinking of my dearest puppet and my new friend.
"You're good, aren't you?" Angela grimed at me from the back Whispering."
"Are you stalking me now, woman?" I argued with Angela.
I've always been around. You never noticed. " She coughed. "Let's go."
"I have to finish this lesson." said i.
"It doesn't look like you love it anyway."
She pulled my hand. I watched James gazing at us, pretending not to care at all.
She headed into the locks and changed as she waited at the door. We headed out to the parking yard.
Angela started the car, I tightened my seat belt for assurance, and she headed off laughing.
"So you think I am a reckless driver? She scorched.
"Well... yeah... even the way you speak." I referred to
"What about the way I speak, Kathryn?"
"It's fast... you speak fast." She smiled.
To my surprise, she took reckless drives. so take care not to fall into a pit
She parked at a very quiet place. I had never seen it before.
"Here we are." Angela opened the car door for me.
"What's this place?" I asked.
"My peaceful dungeon." She opened the door of the warehouse. "This was my grandfather's. He left it for me before he died. "
"It's beautiful." I complimented
"You haven't seen the best part." She scoffed.
Looking back at how the place was built perfectly painted in rainbow colors. All the walls were filled with her comics. She noticed one part of the wall covered with a cloth.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Behind the curtain?" She sniffed. "That's private. One of my precious art pieces. "
"Do you mind if I take a look at it?" I inquired.
"No!" She firmly answered.
"Alright! Alright!"
"Do you want a tour around?" She turned on the other lights.
On one of the walls was a beautiful picture of an old lady with two kids at the beach, around the age of seven, and likely twins . perfectly drawn and colored.
"Who are those?" I pointed at the picture.
"Oh.. that's a lady I met in Hawaii.. with her grand-kids. They really helped me a lot, so I asked if I could take a picture of them. I took a copy of them too. With my camera, of course. Then I decided to draw it on that part of the wall. "
You're a great artist, you know that. You clearly love art. "
I told you, dummy, I love what I draw, not the art."
"Okay!" I took a seat at one of the tables that was there.
The place is full of paint cans but still neat and beautiful. She showed me a lot as time went by, then had to return home. We really had a good time and I realized I have an eye for beautiful art.
"Thanks for the company." She looked me in the eyes. "Come back anytime, please."
"I surely would love to too." I replied.
We shot the door closed. I headed to the car and she drove me home.
"My mom wants to say hello if you don't mind." I said.
"Oh, sure." She opened the car door. followed me into the house.
Mom was in the kitchen making dinner.
"James told me you went out with a friend." My mom gazed at Angela. "Oh hello. "You must be Angela ,right?"
"Yes," Angela replied. "Hello, Ms. Daniels."
