The large bed was unmade, pajamas and a maternity pillow piled carelessly across it. On the nightstand sat Vincent's e-reader, next to a bottle of prenatal vitamins. Beside those rested another photo frame. In this one, Vincent had his head tilted down, pressing his ear to Hailey's bare belly. He was grinning so wide his eyes were almost shut. Hailey, in turn, ran her fingers softly through his hair, her face glowing with pure happiness. It was exactly the same shot someone had sent anonymously to my phone.
