"No rush," I cut her off. "Let them make the first move. I want to see how Vincent and Hailey keep up this lie now that they have lost the child they were counting on."
Celeste paused, catching on right away to what I had in mind. "You want to push them until they panic and mess up all on their own?"
"When a dog is cornered, it will try anything to escape," I said evenly. "Let them make noise. The bigger the scene they cause, the more mistakes they will show."
