Their First Meeting

Amber I was finishing with the last task on my preflight checklist when I heard someone approaching. I turned to see someone who was the spitting image of the previous Alpha Alan, only he had his mother's eyes. He looks to be maybe 6'4 or maybe 6'5. He has thick dark hair with pieces lightened by the sun and is tan to the point that it makes me realize how pale I am. He is the dictionary definition of tall, dark and handsome. I realized then that I was checking him out, and he was doing the same to me. This makes me blush...It takes a moment, but then I recover. "Good morning, you must be Mr. Redwood! I don't think that we have met yet. My name is Amber, Amber Mountwood, and I will be the first officer for this flight.". Why am I suddenly nervous? He isn't the first attractive guy that I've met. Moon Goddess, I need to go on more dates. I'm losing my stuff over the first gorgeous guy that I see. "Please call me Eric; I might have taken over as Alpha, but I'm not old enough to be a 'Mr. Redwood' yet", replied Eric, laughing. His eyes were dancing with happiness. Is he always this happy? Most Alpha's I've met are friendly but pretty serious. Almost moody sometimes. Maybe it is all the sun he gets here, but there is something about his temperament. It's calming and happy. I reached out to shake Eric's hand. "Okay, Eric, well, it's great to meet you. Our flight is set to take off in thirty minutes.". I returned to my previous task. I can feel him observing for a while longer before turning and entering the jet. "Why is he flying out to New York to meet a mate," I think, "With a face like that, he would have no problem choosing a mate here in California." "Also, why does he smell so good?". I shook my head and returned to my job. "Maybe I need to work less and get out more; I'm losing my stuff over the first attractive guy I see." Eric "She really must not feel the mate bond at all. But, on the other hand, feel the entirety of it. Her look, her smell, everything. Goddess... her voice sounds great too. I've just met her, and I'm already in deep. I run my hands through my hair and I'm filled with happy energy coming from my wolf. This doesn't seem like a great combination for a longer flight. "Can you talk to her wolf at all?" I asked my wolf, Josh. "No, I can't reach her, but I can sense that she's there," replied Josh. I reluctantly headed inside the jet. "Ah, Captain Smith, great to see you!" I said as I headed inside. I saw the Captain coming in after me. "Young Alpha, it is a pleasure as always," replied the Captain. "I have a few questions to ask you about your first officer," I asked. "No need to worry; she was top of her class in her training. She will be getting a captain's seat early, most likely as well. She is a very bright and capable pilot," replied Captain Smith. "Oh, it's not her flying that I'm wondering about. Is she a familiar or a werewolf? I can't tell." "Ahh, She is a werewolf, but she hasn't shifted. Her family went through years of testing. No one can figure out why. She is from two alpha bloodlines and was in line to become the Alpha of her family's pack, the Mount Wood Pack.". replied the Captain. "She's from two Alpha bloodlines and never shifted? That.. that doesn't happen," I replied back. "She is not the norm, but if you excuse me, Alpha, I have a few things to check, and I want to keep you on time for your many dates ahead," teased the Captain. "Ugh, don't remind me." I returned to my seat to phone my Beta Drew, "Hey dude, excited about your dates?" says Drew as soon as he answers. "That is what I'm calling about; I need you to cancel them," says Eric. "Cancel them? All of them? Wait...did you find your fated Mate?" asks Drew. "Yes, the only problem is she is a werewolf that hasn't shifted. I spoke with her and shook her hand, but she didn't seem affected. She is from two Alpha bloodlines. I don't understand how that's even possible," I explained over the phone. "That doesn't seem like it should be possible; since you will be in New York, do you want me to book an appointment with Dr. Moore? If anyone can figure out why she isn't shifting, Dr. Moore would be able to". Replied Drew. "This is why I chose you as my Beta Drew, you're always one step ahead of me, but that means that I need to tell her that we're mates and hope that she trusts me, "I replied... "Make the appointment. I'll figure it out".
