Chapter 1 She Slept With the CEO
"You're finally back. I missed you so much..."
A man's scorching kiss landed on Sophia Williams' lips, carrying with it a heavy scent of alcohol.
Sophia's eyes widened, her mind going blank.
Standing before her was a man about 6.3 feet, with golden hair and piercing blue eyes. His muscular chest pressed tightly against hers, emitting an intoxicating aroma of tequila that nearly overwhelmed her senses.
He was Ethan Whitman, the CEO of Quasar Group, the wealthiest tycoon in Texas!
After the company's annual meeting ended, Sophia had only intended to help the inebriated Ethan back to his hotel room. But to her surprise, he had pulled her inside without hesitation!
"Mr. Whitman, you've got the wrong person!"
She tried to push Ethan away, but his powerful arms wrapped around her waist, rendering her unable to move.
What should she do?
Sophia panicked, but soon, her heart raced with excitement as his aggressive kisses reached their peak.
By the time she came to her senses, they were already entangled on the plush bed in the hotel room.
Their clothes lay strewn across the floor, and the weight of his muscular body atop hers, though heavy, ignited a fiery sensation throughout her entire being.
"Don't leave me again..."
Ethan's devastatingly handsome face loomed before Sophia, his piercing blue eyes reminding her of someone buried deep in her memories.
She couldn't resist!
Sophia voluntarily wrapped her arms around his lean waist, unable to suppress the surge of desire within her.
A moment of searing pain followed, and she closed her eyes, succumbing to his powerful advances.
In the dead of night, Sophia awoke to find Ethan sound asleep beside her.
The soreness throughout her body served as a stark reminder that she had slept with the company's CEO!!!
Sophia widened her eyes in disbelief, desperately trying to suppress the scream building within her.
This was her first time!
Sophia felt tears welling up in her eyes. If anyone found out that she, a mere intern, had ended up in the CEO's bed, she'd surely be fired on the spot!
If word got out, she'd never find another job in Dallas!
Suddenly, Ethan beside her stirred, wrapping his arm around her waist and murmuring a name in his sleep.
She couldn't make out the words clearly.
Who did he mistake her for?
Sophia gingerly moved his arm away, hastily dressed herself, and decided to make a swift exit before Ethan woke up!
But in her nervous haste, she failed to notice that she had dropped her phone amidst her scattered clothes.
The next morning, as everyone from Quasar Group gathered downstairs at the hotel to board the bus back to the company, Sophia arrived late, rushing to catch up.
"Why are you so late? The bus is about to leave," another intern, Leah Bell, asked as she waited for Sophia.
"I can't find my phone!"
Sophia was frantic, breaking out in a cold sweat. She had searched her room from top to bottom this morning, but her phone was nowhere to be found.
"You're so scatterbrained. Just get on the bus," Leah scolded, pushing Sophia onto the bus.
As Sophia boarded, she was met with a pair of cold, indifferent eyes.
Her heart skipped a beat.
In the next moment, those eyes shifted away nonchalantly.
Wasn't that Ethan?
He was sitting in the front row of the bus with his secretary. The bus was packed with people, except for the empty seat behind him.
Sophia blushed, hiding her face behind her bag as she took a seat behind Ethan with Leah.
"Didn't Mr. Whitman drive himself here? Why is he taking the bus back with us?" a colleague behind them whispered.
"Who knows? But Mr. Whitman is so handsome..." another woman echoed.
Sophia bit her lip nervously, nudging Leah. "Quick. Help me find my phone."
"I know. I know. You're so forgetful," Leah grumbled as she dialed Sophia's number.
The familiar ringtone echoed through the bus.
But it wasn't coming from Sophia's bag or suitcase. It was coming from the front row, more precisely, from Ethan's hand.
Sophia's heart raced with panic.
How did her phone end up in Ethan's hand?!
Where could she escape now?
"Hang it up!" Sophia threw herself onto Leah, desperately tapping her phone screen to end the call.
But it was too late.
She turned around to see Ethan holding her phone, standing next to their seats. His tall figure seemed to loom over her in the confined space, his gaze fixed upon her.
Sophia's golden-brown hair framed her face, her doe eyes wide with surprise as they met his. Her lips were still slightly swollen... Ethan immediately realized the woman last night was her!
"This is your phone?" He raised an eyebrow.
Sophia's face turned pale.
"Why is your phone in Mr. Whitman's hands?" Leah asked, puzzled.
Sophia opened her mouth to respond, but her nerves got the better of her.
"You left it at the front desk last night," Ethan said casually, handing the phone back to Sophia.
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief as she took the phone, but in her haste, she accidentally grabbed Ethan's wrist.
She quickly released her grip, finally reclaiming her phone.
"Thank you, Mr. Whitman."
"Be more careful next time."
A playful smile tugged at Ethan's lips as he returned to his seat.
Sophia sank back into her seat, relieved.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a new message: After returning to the company, come to my office. Ethan.
Sophia's heart leaped into her throat again.
