"Syd come on, pleeaassee!" She just shakes her head at me, steps out of line, and starts walking in the opposite direction. I am trying to convince her to get on this one ride that is set up like a haunted house that you just ride through instead of walk. "Why not?"
"I will ride on anything but this one because I hate scary things. I don't even watch scary movies." I grab her hand and pull her back into my arms and make her stay in line with me. I lean down closer to her ear.
"Nothing is going to happen to you." My breath tickles her ear and she gives off a small laugh as she tries to pull away, but I hold her tighter.
