CHAPTER 1

Surrounded by lush vegetation that stretches as far as the eye can see, a huge tower with a gigantic structure that has a menacing presence stood majestically. Behind the tower, a flowerbed of different colors spread within a cropped up radius.

The sound of watering and a sweet melodious voice could be heard faintly. The voice was more like a whisper in a silent classroom. The voice was just so alluring that even the birds stopped their chirping. The wind blew gently as a girl dressed as a maid kept watering the flower bed as her tears fell down like pearls on a pond.

The wind flaps her long and thick dark hair. She used her left hand to flip the hair backwards as the full view of her face was shown.

Those luscious red lips with a well proportioned nose and thick brows outlined perfectly. Her face was shaped like an egg. Her skin though exposed to the sun glistens as droplets of water touch it from the sprinkling of the water can. A little black mole can be seen just below her nostrils. It added more to her beauty. She had a stubborn disposition.

Her eyes were focused on something or rather her mind was wandering as she stared into space with her chest heaving. It's like she was struggling with something.

There was no smile on that beautiful face of hers.

This wasn't the life she used to remember, Elise thought sadly. She used to be a Princess loved by her father. She was treated like the Princess she was though much different from her siblings but better than most elite ladies in the pack.

It was known that she would be betrothed to the Alpha's best friend's son when she finally shifts on the night of her eighteenth birthday when the moon is in full view.

Her older brother,Mark had shifted on his eighteenth birthday and gotten his mate five years later. They had been lovey dovey since then. Her other sibling, Jared, was yet to shift.

The Luna, who happens to be her stepmother, hated her with passion without masking it. She transferred all her hatred towards her mother to her. Elise wonders why Luna had to be so cruel to her. It wasn't her fault, right? Then the maltreatment started all round the pack.

It all started when Elise couldn't shift on her eighteenth birthday. That was the turning point of all werewolves in the Black Moon Pack. She was supposed to turn into a full fledged wolf on the night of her birthday.

Disappointedly or rather sadly, Elise waited till dusk but there was no sign. Maybe it was a little late, she tried to console herself and…her father. Slowly, it turned into days and days turned into months. Now, it's been two years of torture from her family, pack members and…father, sadly.

Her father Alpha Davidson Parker is the brutal and fearsome leader of the Black Moon Pack and he is Elise's father. He was a very handsome man that even age couldn't conceal his attraction. Alpha Davidson had charms, charisma and status as an Alpha. Maybe, that's why her mother fell for his charms even when she knew he already had a Luna.

The Luna was having difficulties getting pregnant ten years after their first child was born, a son. But because of greed of power, Alpha Davidson wanted another child preferably a girl child.

According to rumors, her father wanted a female child because he wanted the child to be betrothed to the son of his powerful friend, Alpha Gibson of the Silver Pack. It will make him more formidable.

Alpha Gibson has promised to join forces with him if he can betrothe his daughter to his son….if he could have a daughter.

Fortunately for the power hungry Alpha, his mistress got pregnant. So that was how Elise came into the world.

Elise's mother died immediately after childbirth due to excessive blood loss.

She wished she had died alongside her mother but since she didn't, Elise wasn't ready to die yet. She had been subjected to all manners of maltreatment and…torture. She had to wake up early to make breakfast for the Royal family including the families of the Beta as they reside in the Grand Tower too.

After breakfast, Elise would rush to clear the dishes before taking her bath so as to get to class before the first lesson. Most times,she misses the first lesson. Once she's back from school, she will prepare dinner. But luckily for her she just finished her high school.

Elise scrubs the floors when Luna or her siblings deem it fit. It hurts when she sees her father throwing a blind eye to her sufferings. How she wished things were different.

Elise always asks herself if things would be different if she was born in a regular home. Would her parents still treat her right even when she can't shift? Would they still love her?

She sighed because she can never know those answers. She wasn't born in a regular home but in the house of one of the most powerful and gruesome Alpha who happens to need a useful daughter.

A loud angry growl sounded behind her bringing Elise out of her reverie.

"What do you think you are doing? Wasting water like you own it? Does your wretched pathetic w***e of a mother own a water well? How dare you!"

Elise immediately dropped the can as she held her head in pains…unbearable pain.

"Sor..ry.. ple..ase…stop…am..so..r…ahhh! It hurts…", she wailed as she dropped to her knees.

"You should have thought of that before daydreaming and wasting water. Remember, you are just a loser…and a very useless loser. You are of no use to the park. Even father would be happy to get rid of you. You can't even compare to humans"

"Mark…please stop! Arrrghhh!!! It hurts!!", Elise was writhing in pain.

"You imbecile, that's Alpha Mark not Mark!", He bellowed again in anger.

"You… are… not… yet… the Alpha… . Am of royalty too!", Elise managed to say amidst the pain.

No,she can't continue to be humiliated by Mark or Pamela. She's also a Princess just like them. Why do they treat her like this? Isn't being wolfless enough punishment, Elise cried within. What gives them the right to humiliate her? But sadly she cannot fight for her right. Elise tried to break free from the pains inflicted by her brother, Mark.

"Leave her alone,Mark", a voice thundered behind them.

They all turned to see their father Alpha Davidson walking towards them in majestic steps. He stopped two steps away from Mark.

"Get back to the training grounds now", he ordered as Mark suddenly recoiled. He threw a disgusted look at Elise before leaving.

"Father…"

"Are you going to remain useless? Make yourself useful before claiming to be a Princess. Princesses are born to strengthen the powers of a territory but obviously you are just useless", Alpha Davidson pointed out in contempt.

"Father…I have tried…", Elise tried to defend but her father cut her off.

"No one would want a wolfless princess. Even your mate would reject you. The lowest of our kind won't hesitate to reject you. Do you know why? Because you are worthless", her father continued mercilessly.

"Father,I promise you. I will prove to you that I am not worthless", Elise said in a determined tone.

"You can start by shifting. Be a real wolf Princess not a human Princess", he told her as he walked past her.

"It's not my fault the moon goddess decided not to give me my wolf! Without my wolf,I can still be useful too", She sobbed quietly.

"Prove to me you are worthy or keep yourself out of my sight. Stop your tears. It changes nothing. And don't you dare complain of how you are being treated. You should be grateful to be accepted and…being alive", he whispered to her.

Elise looked down at her feet as drops of tears fell from her eyes. She doesn't deserve to be treated like this. It wasn't her fault.

The moon goddess must be partial. She gave her all the negativity of life. Born by a mistress, motherless from birth and when Elise thought she could enjoy her life fully, the moon goddess refused to give her the one thing she had been looking forward to.

Her mate.

"I will definitely prove you and others wrong…then I will melt out every humiliation I have received from all of you", Elise thought as she picked up the water can.

She had to leave the Black Moon Pack. Dead or alive.

But where to? Elise pondered.
