Noah’s POV My heart squeezes painfully in my chest as Daisy stares at me, her pain radiating from her gaze. It kills me that she could even possibly begin to think that her dad was angry with her or blamed her somehow for not being there at the end. ‘I just feel so guilty’ she murmurs sadly, her gaze falling to her lap as she plays with the covers. ‘He died here all alone, no one was with him, he was just in this house, in his room, with nobody holding his hand as he took his last breaths.’ I nod silently, because I don’t know what to say, how can I make this better for her?
