CHAPTER ONE "THE REUNION" Life is chaos. unescapable reality, a Godsent gift, And a rueful blessing. I am now waiting for a taxi here at Ayala. All kinds of sounds can be heard all around the city. The lights seem to be a firefly flipping their wings and making an incredible light with their buts. Sigh. It's pretty. You can't see anyone here walking slowly, they're all seems busy. Ignoring how late the night was as if they don't mind the difference between morning and night. I was here alone, feeling the presence of the night and trying to forget all that happens last week. 7 years have passed and we met again yet I create a big fuss! Arrrggg! A few days earlier: Today was our first reunion with my elementary batchmates. It's been ages since we last saw each other as we take our path differently after graduation. We go to different schools and universities. I am quite excited about today's event. I've been missing them so much. I am wearing now my skin tone dress matching my close black sandal with 1.5 inches heel together with my small sling bag. I happen to walk a mirror on my way to the venue as I passed on a mall. I saw my reflection and I can really see the big changes in myself. I used to be a boyish type. I like to wear huge T-shirts, with maong pants, and high cut shoes. Of course, I can't live a single minute without having my backpack. HAHA. Ewww, what a badoy attire! "Hi, Cy..." Someone was waving at me in front of the door entrance. I got here earlier than the said schedule. It was maria, one of my best childhood buddies. "I know you would come Cykyla. I miss you giiiiirl!" Patili-tili niyang sabi as she hugs me. I hug her back cause I badly miss this girl. "I missed you too maria. How are you? My god, dami nating pag-uusapan ngayon." I excitedly said. "Yeah, Pero I already leave the script and the flow of the event on the stage. See you in the evening." "What? A-" "Ikaw na muna bahala sa event ha, papunta narin sila kim at Sam. A-assist ka nila mamaya. Sinabihan kuna sila." Pagputol niya sa akin. "Wait... di ako prepared! Para tong tanga!" Kinakabahan kong sabi. I wasn't really prepared. Mga tipaklong Help me!!! "I know kaya mo yan. Hahahaha enjoy!" Sabay tapik sa braso ko at kumaripas na ng takbo. Maria was an Outstanding student from then until now. I organized the program, she was tasked to be the emcee and will be assisted by Kim and Sam. Pero wala sa plano na ako ang magiging emceeeee!!!! Bruha talaga tong si maria! Since we only planned it online, I don't know if it will go well as planned. Ahhh! Bahala na si batman! I walk to the stage to get the script to familiarize it. Some of our friends and batchmates are already here. I only got a little time to prepare. I gave smiles to everyone that enters the door. Yeah, not to mention I'm a good team player, I am an expert in entertaining people since then. Pero iba ito, mga kakilala ko sila and I don't want to fail in front of them. I felt happy seeing them grow so big. Some of them bring their kids, some show off their luxuries. "Mic test. Mic Test." As I started my speech. "Holaaa. Holaaa... Good morning amegas, amegos." As I started to speak, I didn't fail to catch their attention. The surroundings became dark and the light focused on me. Hoooo! Kalma. Asan na kaya ang mga bruhaaaaa!!!! "It's been a wonderful day for us to gathered here. I am beyond thankful for everyone who came today as we celebrated our very first elementary batch 2011-2012 reunion. Kanina pagkagising ko unang unang sumagip sa isip ko yung mga mukha natin na may mga sipon pa sa pisngi, na umiiyak pa kapag di pinapasali sa laro. HAHA" People laughed as they remember those things. They teased people beside them. "I got so much excited that I got here early na labis kong pinag sisihan because Maria Cheated me! (I put my fist on my chest as a sign of hurt and they laugh again.) She was supposed to be our emcee tonight but ayun lumipad ang gaga at di ko na alam kung anong oras yun babalik. "HAHA" *people* "So anyway, let me call the attention of our beloved teachers who are still pretty as ever. Char, pinging pera ma'am. *giggle*.Everyone, Mrs. Belthony Casas and Mrs. Nenetha Rampa. Around of applause please." Mrs. Casas and Mrs. Rampa wave their hands shyly. "Sina sir, as usual coming pa daw. Wala nang pinagbago, haha mula sa klase noon until now. Anyway, without further words of ka Oa-han, I welcome you a-" I was stunned when he enters the hall. Wait... did our eyes just meet? Did he look at me just now? WaaaahhhhH! My gooooodnessss! My heart is bouncing so fast- a..and... oh, She was with a very hot chick. People turn their heads and look at them. "Wetwew! Wala ka talagang kakupas kupas David (da-ved)"-Anton. His best friend. "So again, I welcome you all! Enjoy the night everyone and for the assistance do not hesitate to approach me or us here." Pointing others behind the stage. Everyone applauses and go to different tables with their close friends to catch up, and some go to the swimming pool area to embrace the view. I can still feel my heart racing down my nerves. I searched for Maria everywhere still she was nowhere to be found. I will just wait for her in the staff room. Kasi wala narin akong ganang maki Jam baka makita ko nalang ulit siya. The staff room was on the right side of the Bathroom. Everyone was busy and my mood was already ruined when I saw him. I don't hate him, I just don't have any confidence to face him. I don't like him anymore either. Or am I? Do I still-?? Wait... no! Never again. Duuh! He has already a girlfriend now, or wife? Yeah maybe wife niya yun. Bagay sila. Napakaganda ng babae at may hitsura talaga si David. They are a perfect match. When I got into the staff room, I saw a CD with a note "Play this, elementary memories" I played it and it was our random pictures. HAHA, puberty days. So I decided to bring it to the stage and play it. When I was on the stage, isa sa mga hotel crew ay may inabut sa aking limang sulat. Ipapabasa daw. I open it and read it with mic. "Mic test. Can I have your little attention for a while ladies and gentlemen? Okay, I received 5 letters here and I will be going to read it loudly." Their faces became serious and ready to listen. "First, Sino yung nakakita ng palaka kong pitaka. Pakibalik po sa akin, nagmamahal Marjun." "AHAHA gago! Di ako yan!" Nagtanawanan nalang lahat kasi pinagkaisahan si Marjun sa mga kaibigan niya. HAHA "Second. Rose, wag kang uminon ng Marami. Nakakafall ka lalo kapag namumula ang mukha mo. Unknown sender." Ayiiieeee... pakilala na yan! Pakilala nayan! Sigaw ng karamihan. Nahiya tuloy si rose at tinakpan niya ang kanyang mukha sa bag niyang dala. HAHA napakaganda kasi ni Rose. Mula pagkabata hanggang ngayon. Bat ang unfair ng mundo? Habang ako pinamukha talaga sa akin ang puberty stage! Hahay buti nalang sabi ni mama maganda ako. HAHA "Third, paki request po ng song "True Friend by Miley". Unknown sender."- "okay, I pi-play natin yan mamaya. Ano to? Sign na kaya to sa pagiging DJ ko?" HAHAHA "Fourth one, kyla nahanap mo na ba si maria?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH *people* "Kung sino ka man, HAHA nag text na ang gaga papunta na raw siya. Finally, ariel happen to me, just only 7.50. haha" pabiro kung sagot. "HAHA di ka parin nag bago kyla. Palabiro ka parin." HAHAHA "Fifth one, oh sa may mga letters diyan. Wag mahihiyang magtanong, ay este mag abot. Ahaha. Okay fifth letter. "ky (sound as kay) ..." para sa akin na naman. Sumikat na ata ako. Haha "cykyla pedrijo... Mas lalo ka atang gumanda. Bagay sayo yung suot mo ngayon." Biglang namula ang pisngi ko sa hiya. I don't really like to be praised in public. Awwwweeeeee.. sinooooo yaaan? "HAHAHA tanga talaga tong si anthon! Asan ka?" I searched the whole place as if hindi ako nahiya and I saw Anthon in the corner laughing so hard and... David... I catch him looking at this area kanina. "gagoo.." I said it jokingly and leave the stage. I leave them playing that video. I was about to return to the staff room I grab a drink para matanggal yung hiya ko ng makita ko si anthon sa may pintoan ng Cr. Kaagad akong bumalik sa dinaanan ko kasi totoksohin lang ako ng gagong yun at wala pa si Maria para ipagtanggol ako. "Ouch! Sor-" I was stunned realizing who I bump with. "da...vid? Hi?" He just looks at me. Well, what do I expect? Since Grade 1 he ignores me, at nabibilang palang sa kamay ang pag uusap naming dalawa and tungkol lang ito sa assigning of task before tapos wala na. When I was around, he would stop talking, or leave. When I was coming, he will also walk away leaving those words saying "annoying". All those years I had this huge question mark inside of my head, "What is your problem with me? What did I've done to you for you to treat me like my existence and meeting our ways is a big NO-NO?" "*smirked* you're still the same. Ikakasakit parin ng sikmura mo ang pakikipag-usap sa akin." Halatang nahihiya ang boses ko habang naramdaman ang pag-init ng mga tainga at mata ko. He just staring at me again. This familiar pain somewhere in my heart suddenly appears again after a long time. So, I better gotta go. "Excuse me then. Enjoy your night David" Professional kung sabi at pilit tinatago ang panginginig ko. I was about to leave when he holds my wrist. Things were slow mode and sounds are disappearing slowly that I can only hear my heart beating so loud enforcing the Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock of the clock. I couldn't move, nor can face him. Even blinking my eyes seems to be prohibited. What was happening? First, our eyes were dragged into one direction many times tonight and now our skin was actually touching, as in for real? "David?" A sweet woman's voice coming in the corner not far from here. There I got the courage to grab my hand and I walk as fast as I could without looking back. Nakasalubong ko ang babae, she looks from left to right wishing to find David. "Excuse me, do you happen to know where David is?" she has a soft and angelic voice. Just as David's type. She's tall, skinny, having glass skin, long and shiny hair that makes her a perfect figure. Is she a celebrity or what? I am 100 times far from her in any way. "Yeah, he's right there (pointing on my back) in the CR with Anthon." I gave my sweetest smile. Acting as nothing happen. "Thank you." As she smiles, my heart was covered by insecurities. She's almost perfect. While me? I'm far even from her foot. Five hours have passed that I do nothing but avoid meeting our way. I don't want to get involved with him again. Not again. Yet, life is merciless. Things happen when you don't want it, And things disappear when you wish them. A strange and chaotic life, A regretful blessing and a rueful one. The program went well, it was already 11:57 Pm. By 12, it became an open program. People can do what they want. Enjoy the party. I was already a bit drunk. I need to freshen up. Our hotel was near the beach. I choose this venue because of personal reasons. I really love viewing the sea at night. I love the peacefulness of the ocean in the evening. I was walking at the beach right now. I can hear people cheering inside the hotel. Maybe it was already 12 MD and it was already an open program. Haysss, Buti pa sila. They already had a stable job, and a family while me? Ito wala paring tuno ang mundo ko. Habang papalit ako sa dagat, I saw shadows and someone was behind the coconut trees. Out of curiosity, I walk closer and it only shocked me when I saw David and that girl kissing hardly. I couldn't move again. Ba't ang sakit? My heart seems like protesting to beat, it wanted to stop in a bit. I take a gulp and walk away as far as I could. I sat down on the sand when I realized I am far enough to see them again. I looked up and saw how the stars twinkled at me. "*sigh*" *Text message* -opening...- - "Hey Chloe, cancel all the schedule tomorrow because Sir Aquilles will finally show up." Miss Cathey texted me. - "Really? Our great CEO will finally show up for 5 years?" - "sinabi mo pa, kundi lang talaga competitive tong si sir Aquilles at kung di lang Malaki ang sahod dito matagal na akong lumayas dito." - "HAHA yeah right. For 5 years mula ng matayo ang electronics company niya he did not fail to make his name all around the world in a short period of time. Naging haligi na rin tayo sa company niya miss cath. HAHA" - "Exactly! O sige chloe ha. See you tomorrow. Agahan mo nalang." I close my phone after reading the last text from miss Cathy. I need to stick in DC Electronic Co.. Because of my job here I happen to finish my studies, that's why napakalaki ng utang na loob ko sa company na ito. Humiga ako sa buhangin. It was so relaxing. This kind of place was really my stress reliever. Being here in a beach like this can help me to--- nang biglang may umupo sa tabi ko. I slowly look at my side kasi familiar yung amoy niya. "Don't mind me." Hearing his calm voice makes my heart ache even more. Akma na akong tatayo nang pigilan niya ako. "Please stay for a while." He said it without looking at me. I can't explain why I followed what he say or is this what I want? I sat down again. Bakit ganito? Kahit puno ng sakit nararamdaman ko parin ang peace iside of me. *sigh* di ko mapigilang kundi mapabuntong hininga nalang. Wala akong masabi and even him is not planning to talk. I just let the moment pass. Smelling his scent as the winds swayed around that I was longing for a long time and I can't stop my tears to show in my eyes. I pick a stick and draw randoms on the sand? "Do you still like to draw?" He asked. Nakakapanibago na nakikipag usap siya, parang kanina lang na hindi na naman siya nagsasalita sa akin and now what is this? Anong kalukuhan na naman ito Dave? "Why?" Cold kung tanong. I can feel that he was shocked hearing my question instead of giving an answer to him. "What's why?" he finally looks at me but I regret to look at him because his eyes are a galaxy, you can't read them because of the billions of thoughts hidden yet still can feel that something is wrong. "Wala... There's just a lot of why's in my head." I pat my legs, para matanggal yung mga buhangin na nasa kamay ko. "Hmm." And the silence eats us again. The waves are calm today, and the skies too. I look up and find my peace again facing the sky. This is so strange. Why would he stay with me tonight? Where is the girl he was with earlier? I took the beer that I bring from the hotel. He grabs it and opens it up. Without a word binigay niya ito ulit sa akin. May saltik ba 'to? He picks up the other one and opens it for himself. I watch him drink it. Even the way he drinks is so damn attractive. (wossshhooo! stop it!) "It was already 3, mag-uumaga na David. Una na ako sayu ha." I was about to stand nang mahilo ako at pinikit ko nalang ang mata ko ng maramdaman ko na papatumba na ako. "Hey, you okay?" Mas lalo atang nawala ang mga lakas ko when I open my eyes I found myself on top of him. His hands still wrapping me. I can't help but stare at his face...napakabango ng hininga niya... I can feel the tension and heat between the two of us... we are too close right now, I want to resist but my body's wanting more... His manly nick, his galxy look like eyes and his lip... hiss... and... I should stop... I should.. I need to.. but... "Matagal ko na tong gustong gawin ky." The last word I hear bago ko maramdaman ang malambot niyang labi and now I know to my self I gave in again.
