CHAPTER 10 When Wayde returned home to his apartment, he took a long, hot shower. The telephone rang as he was toweling off. He didn’t answer it thinking it might be Lieutenant Kelly. He went into his bedroom, put on a bathrobe, and unpacked his suitcase. He picked up the notebook he’d found in Jim Rodgers’ room, went into his office, and sat down at his desk. He began reading the written notes in the book. Most of it was about chemical ideas and things about DNA and genetics. It didn’t make much sense to Wayde; nothing piqued his interest or seemed related to Rodgers’ murder. He put the notebook into a drawer and returned to the bedroom.
