CHAPTER 11
On Sunday morning Matey woke up with a scotch-and-soda headache. Lying in bed naked, she rubbed her temples. Matey got up, went into the bathroom, took an aspirin bottle out of the medicine cabinet, and poured four tablets into her hand. Matey chewed them as she sat on the toilet, peeing. After flushing the toilet, she took a drink of water and got into her large pink marble-tiled shower.
Thirty minutes later, dressed in white shorts and a yellow halter-top, Matey descended the stairs and went out to the pool area where the maids were serving a late breakfast. She was not the only one with a hangover. Matey sat down at a table with Senator Knowles and Ambassador Bradley.
