I woke suddenly hoping everything that happened yesterday was a bad dream. I still struggled to get my head around what I had learned and the fact an unknown wolf had entered my human family home. What does all of this mean? I keep asking myself if there was a way I could have known I was a Lycan. My parent’s never involved me in any pack business maybe it’s because I was so young or they were protecting me from the Yellowstone Alpha.
I stumble out of bed and go downstairs to make breakfast. Samantha and Rick leave quite early which puts my mind at ease after everything that happened yesterday. Thankfully Alissa texts me before she leaves to let me know she’s safe, despite being a typical teenager she loves me.
I tried to enjoy Bacon and eggs but I just don’t seem to have my appetite back yet after the stresses of last night. I looked at the clock and realized it’s almost 10! Marcus will be here any- *Doorbell rings* “Damn it” I mutter. I try to flatten my monstrosity of morning hair and open the front door. “You’re early” I exclaim. “And you’re running late as always” laughed Marcus. “Come in I’ll make us both a coffee whilst I get ready, Everyone’s out anyway”. Marcus walks in and takes a seat at the breakfast bar. I’m not allowed boys home alone but Marcus is a family friend of sorts so I’m sure Sam won’t mind.
“Let’s go upstairs you can start explaining yourself whilst I get ready”. Marcus sighs “I’m sorry I didn’t think anything would happen I just wasn’t sure”. “Less apologizing more talking Marc,” I say as I head into the bathroom. I turn the shower on and climb in so I can try and clear this mass of curly hair. “So do you invite all your guy friends up here or am I special?” Marcus jokes. “We both know you’re not special” I clap back. He’s so cheeky and I must admit there is something hot about him just being outside the door.

“I feel so stupid for keeping this from you I planned to tell you everything when you came of age”. A muffled voice comes to form the bathroom. “I can’t hear you Maia I’ll just wait until you’re out”. As I’m gazing around Maias' room I notice small items from Devon, a clear view of the sea from her window, and oh – Her bra.. *gulp*. I turn around and see Maia through a gap n the door, her hair wet but still so dark and luscious and her pale skin almost shimmers.
She’s so beautiful I-

“Sorry as I was saying I don’t care if you were going to wait I had a right to know” I huffed at him. After throwing on some jeans and a cropped jumper I come out to see Marcus nervous and flustered. My cheeks go red realizing I left the door ajar as if no one was home, could he have seen me? “Ahem uh we should get going Maia it’s no use talking about all this here” he chocked. “You’re right” I quickly left the room before my face got any brighter. I had to admit I enjoyed seeing him flustered he must have liked what he could have seen.
We drove for about an hour to get further away from Devon coast to a safe place only we knew. When we arrived we walked closely but again, in bitter silence. We sat at a bench we had made a few years ago so I had a ‘place’ to visit my parents. “Cut to the chase I want to know exactly what you know Marcus so I can understand and protect myself”.
Marcus went on to explain that on my mother's side all the women were Lycans. A now rare hybrid breed of werewolf. We are faster, stronger, and have more abilities than your average werewolf which makes me sought after by people like the Alpha. Marcus believes he wanted to ‘acquire’ me to be his mate when I am of age so I could produce him with strong heirs and because my father declined he obliterated the Crest-Moon pack.
“I am sorry love for not telling you sooner, are you ok?” Marcus looked deeply into my eyes. I didn’t know how to digest all of this but it makes things very clear for me. I never knew why my family was killed or why he would stay in my town and watch over me I always brushed over it because of my silly school-girl crush on him. “I forgive you, Marcus you always mean well, I just don’t know what to do now I don’t want to put Sam, Rick, and Alissa at risk” and that soon became my biggest fear.
