The Billionaire's Dilemma Alex, you should have gotten married by now with John and Lizzie, right? said his mother, Elizabeth but he had plans of his own. Alex, who was only 32 years old, was a real business star, and everyone knew that he was growing his business by cunning means. He had no time for romantic affairs or entanglements. His mission was to make the company the next Google. His parents did not care about their son's feelings, their only concern was to have a house full of grandchildren that's why James, Alex's father went as far as threatening to hand over the family business to his younger brother, Ryan if Alex doesn't get engaged. He could remember his fathers words ringing like a song in his head constantly, Alex, if you are not going to marry by the time of the annual gala, then I will hand over the company to Ryan and you will be left out in the cold and kicked out of the family. Alex nodded and scanned the list. That's when he saw her - Sophia Patel, a stunning woman from a humble background. Alex had seen her at a charity event a few weeks ago. As Rachel left the office, Alex cold demeanor returned and he focused on his screen like nothing happened though he had a feeling that Sophia Patel is the perfect candidate for the job. The meeting/contract Over the next few days, Alex couldn't concentrate on work. He kept thinking about the contract girlfriend and if the idea was actually lame and he prayed his Dad doesn't see through it. Finally, the very much anticipated day arrived. Sophia walked into the office, looking astonishing in a simple yet elegant dress. Alex was taken aback by her beauty and poise but he didn't show it he just gave her a simple glance and his eyes returned to his screen with his fingers dancing meticulously on his keyboard. Sit he muttered.... Sophia smiled, her eyes sparkling. Thank you for having me, Mr. Petrov. As Sophia sat down, Alex couldn't help but notice the way she moved elegantly and confident. He was impressed. So, Sophia, I'm sure Rachel has told you why I wanted to meet with you,Alex said, without beating around the bush. Sophia nodded, her eyes locked on his. Yes, she has. You want me to pretend to be your girlfriend for a few weeks. It's not pretence young lady it's a contract meaning you'll live with me until the contract is over And in return, I'll pay you a huge sum of money." Sophia raised an eyebrow. "How huge?" Alex smiled. "Let's just say it's enough to change your life." Sophia's jaws droppex and Alex knew he had gotten her .. "I'm listening," Sophia said, her voice barely above a whisper. Alex leaned back in his chair, clutching his fingers together. "I hired you to be my girlfriend for the next few weeks. I have a few events to attend, and I need someone by my side." Sophia nodded, her eyes never leaving his. "And what makes you think I'm the right person for the job?" Sophia asked courteously Alex smiled. "I've seen the way you carry yourself, Sophia. You're confident, intelligent, and beautiful. You're the perfect candidate I hope I'm right Sophia blushed, looking away for a moment before turning back to him. "I see. And what's in it for me?" Alex leaned forward, his eyes locked on hers. "Like I said, a substantial sum of money. Enough to pay off your debts and start fresh." Sophia's eyes widened, and Alex felt victorious. "Okay, deal," Sophia said finally, extending her hand. Alex smiled, shaking her hand. "Excellent choice, Sophia. I bet you won't regret this. This is the contract, go through it and sign once you're done I'll keep a copy and you'll keep one. Sophia glanced through it then signed on it happily and gave Alex who in turn gave his secretary to duplicate it. As Sophia left the office, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had a feeling that his arrangement was going to be a success. Over the next few days, Alex and Sophia met several times to discuss the details of their arrangement. They went over the events they would attend, the things they would say, and the way they would act. Sophia was a quick learner, and Alex was impressed and she moved in with him.
