When Rhea opened her eyes, she knew that she wasn’t awake. The main reason for that being, she was back at Camp Half-blood and she could see extra cabins had been added from the last time she had stayed.
It meant she could remember the good times, more than the days where a small taunting voice would keep her from sleeping, she would never forget that bastard’s voice for as long as she lived.
Rhea would never forget what he showed her either.
She had to remind herself; that her horrid grandfather couldn’t contact her through her dreams anymore, he was too weak for that.
He was also not the only person who had connected her through her dreams; Bianca had used her dreams to bring her baby brother’s plight ot her attention, more so when the spirit of King Minos was around Nico, trying to use himf or his centuries old revenge.
Grover had used her dreams to get her attention when he was stuck and about to be killed by one of Rhea’s many monsterous half-brothers.
Nico was the one who used her dreams to get her attention.
“You don’t know what’s happening, do you?” Nico asked.
Rhea turned around, spotting her cousin in front of the Hades’ cabin.
“Nico, I’m in Forks, Washington and before that I was in Pheonix, Arizona,” Rhea said sitting down at one of the many tables, “I haven’t tried using Iris Messages for ages, I’m usually around Bella who has no idea what I am.”
“Apollo’s been sent to the mortal world as a teenager, Artemis was able to get Zeus to send him as a demi-god teenager,” Nico said, “Jason used his favour from the War to make sure Apollo could defend himself.”
“That sounds like Jason,” Rhea said.
“It gets worse.”
“How?”
“Apollo’s tied up to Nero’s charge... one of Demeter’s daughters.”
“Name?”
“Meg.”
“I hate Zeus and Hera.”
“How?”
“Zeus is infamous for shifting the blame to anyone else, even if it was Hera who caused ninety per cent of the problems during the Giant War.”
“You didn’t ask.”
“Is that something that has to be asked? Only they would think it’s a good idea to make one god a mortal after a missive war, where everything has to be repaired. Again. To think we were nearly done from the Titan War.”
“Only you, Rhea,” Nico said sitting across from her.
“Thank you, but while we’re discussing repairs, if Camp Half-blood safe anymore?” Rhea asked.
“Almost.”
“Where did they take everyone?”
“Reyna and Jason have taken them to Camp Jupiter, to keep them safe. I don’t think the older Roman demigods are going to allow us to come back to Camp Half-blood.”
“It was never safe.”
“Some of the older Roman demigods have adopted younger Greek demigods.”
“Please thank Reyna and Jason for me, along with Frank while we’re at it,” Rhea said, “he’s most likely looking after a bunch of hyperactive children.”
“How’s the medical condition?” Nico asked.
“Don’t tell Will.”
“I’ve told Will.”
“Hades blast it.”
“I have the same condition.”
“You also have to eat as much as a bear before going into hibernation?”
“Yup, pomegranates help.”
“Persephone?”
“That’s Will’s theory.”
“Annabeth as well.”
“Yup.”
“Bringing the topic to a much brigher note, how are Will and Jake?” Rhea asked, grinning.
She had already warned them on what would happen if they harmed her baby cousin. Rhea would make them choke on their own saliva and she would make sure any body of water would be dangerous.
Being seen as a Sea Princess was useful.
“Will and Jake are fine,” Nico said.
“Your relationship? You three are horribly cute together. Fire, shadow and the rainbow.”
“How?”
“Nico, I’m not blind... I’ve already threatened them you know. Anyway, you think Apollo might be coming towards Forks?”
“We have a theory that Nero’s tomb is located around the forest around Forks,” Nico said, “he’s trying to replace the Gods or destory the world.”
“So a normal year then,” Rhea said, “last time it was Loki, this time it’s a Roman Emperor with a large ego.”
“Lestor, Apollo’s using the name Lester,” Nico said nodding, “Meg will most likely be with him.”
“Thank you for the warning, may wouldn’t think of giving me one,” Rhea said standing up, to walking around the table to give him a hug, “we’ll keep the next generation safe, so that they don’t have to become child soldiers. But promise me something, Nico.”
“What?”
“Stay safe.”
--
Rhea huffed braiding her into a loose plate.
She was already on edge from what Nico had told her, but now she had to add her sister’s moronic fanboys to s**t she had to deal with.
Mike, Eric and now Taylor, all three were getting on her last nerve. Which was the reasons Rhea stopped eating with Bella’s friend group.
Bella sat with her instead of with them.
At least one of them would come to their table and talk to Bella. Rhea could see that Mike and Erick liked Taylor less than they liked each other.
“Bells, are you sure I can’t kill them? No one would even find their bodies,” Rhea said.
She was sure some of the nature nymphs wouldn’t mind helping her hide the bodies when she explained her reasons for killing them.
“Promise, it’ll be like they were never here,” she continued, “and we can stop having so many migraines.”
The last person who had tested her patience like this had been a new Ares Camper after the Titan War. The poor girl had been trying to prove that she was stronger than Rhea was.
Poor little Susan Wilkins didn’t expect to end up at the bottom of the camp’s llake for an hour, which was how long it took for Clarisse to stop laughing and to talk her down from her anger.
Well, Chris did most of the talking while Clasrisse was busy laughing.
In the end, Susan Wilkins could still breath underwater, but she couldn’t move.
“No, Rhea, you can’t kill them,” Bella said.
“Who are we killing?” a loud voice asked.
Rhea flinched, and she was out of her chair before she could think twice about it, grabbing someone’s arm and using her strength to flip them onto the table.
She and Bella had finished eating a few minutes before she started to think of ways she could kill her sister’s admirers.
Coming back to herself, she stared at the large bear of a man she flipped onto the table. Then rememebred that most people her size wouldn’t have been able to do that.
Golden eye blinked before he grined, he looked like someone who wouldn’t be happy about being attacked by someone half their weight and height.
He looked oddly pleased with himself.
“Bella?” Rhea asked taking a step back, “how many people are looking?”
He was part of the Cullen family, but she didn’t remember his name. It felt like her heart was going to stop in a few minutes.
“Everyone,” Bella said, “none of them were until you flipped... who are you?”
“Emmett,” he replied getting off the table, holding out his hand for Rhea to take, “Alice, Jasper and Edward told me about you two, neither mentioned about going for a trip onto the table.”
Rhea took his hand, shacking it.
“That’s because we didn’t appear beind her as she was planning someone’s murder, which includes the person who almost flattened her and her sister into pancakes,” Alice said standing next to Rhea.
“Okay, no one was looking until you flipped Emmett onto the table,” Bella said, “it was loud.”
“It would have been,” Rhea agreed.
“Doesn’t help that Emmett doesn’t look light either, almost like you flipped a weight lifter without break a sweat, how’s the shoulder?” Bella asked.
“My shoulder is fine,” Rhea said.
She had fought heavier, including her first day at Camp Half-blood. She might not have thrown the Minotaur, but he tried to crush her with his weight.
Which Bella knew, but no one else around them did.
“You must do some serious weights at the gym,” Mike said walking up the table.
Rhea groaned.
Jasper walked up to Alice, taking her hand into his own.
“You two want to come with us to La Push this weekend, it’s going to be sunny,” Mike finished.
“We’ll go,” Bella said.
“I go under protest,” Rhea said the minute Mike was back at his table, clapping his hand on Eric’s shoulder.
“And for the sea,” Bella said.
“And becaise I don’t trust me not to try anything while I’m not glaring at him,” Rhea said.
“Bella,” Mike said coming back, “are you going to the Spring Dance?”
“No,” Bella said without a second thought.
Rhea put her hand on her mouth, she didn’t need him seeing that she could barely control her laughter.
“Rhea? Are you going?” Eric asked waking to stand next to Mike.
“Nope,” Rhea said.
“Rhea and I are going to Seattle that, we’re running low on reading material,” Bella said.
“Plus, it’s girl’s choice.” Rhea didn’t want to go, Aphrodite would want to get her something to wear and she didn’t think she would live it down if someone from camp caughter her.
“Jessica asked me to go with her,” Mike said.
“Then go with her,” Bella and Rhea said.
Emmett laughing him them.
Mike and Eric looked behind them, both paling when they spotted the Cullen’s.
They left without another word.
“You two are great,” Emmett said.
“You weigh more than a bear,” Rhea said.
“Have fun with lover boy,” Emmett said walking back towards their table, where Jaspier’s twin waited for him.
“Hey, Rhea, Bella. Are either of you going to the Spring Dance?” Taylor asked.
Rhea now knew what Emmett meant when he said ‘lover boy’. She could feel her temper raising, before she felt herself calm down.
“No, we’re going to be in Seattle,” Bella said.
“Seattle? Why that day?” Taylor asked.
“We’ve been planning this trip for a while now,” Rhea said sitting down, “a cousin of mine and his partners might come down that day. I haven’t seen him in years, my father’s side of the family.”
“Sorry about that,” Taylor said, leaving.
Rhea had to remind herself that she couldn’t fight with mortals.
“You never answered Emmett’s question,” Alice said sitting down, pulling Jasper to sit down next to her.
Rhea’s temper was like the sea, she could feel herself calming down.
“Taylor, Mike and Eric,” she said, “sometimes Jessica and Lauren make their way onto that list, depending on how bitchy they’re being.”
“You’re not going to meet up with a cousin, or planned to go Seattle that day?” Jasper asked.
“Made it up on the spot,” Rhea said, “I don’t do dances.”
“Rhea and I wouldn’t mind going to a few bookstores, we weren’t allowed to bring much with us on the plane, we might need some more clothes though,” Bella said.
“Clothes?” Alice asked.
“Can’t really buy Washington climate clothing down south,” Rhea admitted.
“Then we need to go shopping,” Alice said.
Rhea felt her stomach drop as she did that, “I’m fine with what I own.”
“It doesn’t fit.”
“I’m not going to win this fight, am I?”
“No one wins fights with Alice, not even Edward and she used to be the only person he’s lose to,” Jasper said grinning.
Rhea blinked.
“But I think you two could win again him,” he finished.
“Never,” Alice said.
“I think Rhea looks fine,” Bella said.
Alice stared.
Bella put her hands up.
“Bells, you’re as a bad as Rhea,” Alice said.
“Not as bad as the government,” Rhea said.
Alice took her hand into her own.
“That’s Alice for you,” Emmett said, “Eddy boy didn’t believe me when I said you threw me onto the table.”
“I saw it happen the first time,” Edward said.
“Bell’s going to ring soon,” Roselie said.
“Of course love,” Emmett said, leaving with Roselie.
“We should organise a weekend to go shopping,” Alice said.
“We should,” Bella said.
“It’ll save gas,” Edward said.
“There goes my plan of using my motorcycle, out the nearest window and to a watery death,” Rhea said.
“You ride?” Jasper asked.
“Not in this weather, Charlie might put into a jail cell to get the message through my thick skull,” Rhea said.
“Class is starting,” Bella said.
“I’m ditching,” Edward said.
“Why?” Bella and Rhea asked.
“Ditching every once and a while,” Edward said, smirking, “is good for the soul.”
“I know that’s bullshirt,” Rhea said.
“Your class is doing blood testing today,” Alice said, “I spotted Mr Banner with the test kits, while muttering to himself about the blood donation truck.”
“Bells text Charlie, we’re going to ditch as well,” Rhea said.
Bella got her phone out of her bag.
“We might as well save your classmates pain and just go to the supermarket,” Rhea finished.
“Why?” Edward asked.
“If you thought my reaction to Emmett was overkill, well, I don’t think Mr Banner is going to enjoy my reaction to someone trying to take my blood,” Rhea said, “and gym? Bella takes people down with her, her class has moved onto basketball. No one wants Bella on their team.”
“I don’t like the smell of blood,” Bella said.
“The smell?” Edward asked.
“Bella has a habit of fainting at the sight and the smell of blood,” Rhea said taking Bella’s hand into her own, she knew Bella didn’t like talking about it. “I’ve seen it happen when someone in our cooking class knicked themselves with a knife.”
“Blood smells like rusted iron and salt,” Bella added nodding, “Dad will understand.”
“We’ll plan that trip to Seattle?” Alice asked, “we can take Edward’s car, get their faster and get more shopping done.”
“As longas there are a few bookstores during that trip, since Bella wasn’t kidding about needing more reading material,” Rhea said.
“And that includes her collection of books written in Greek and Latin,” Bella said.
“Greek?” Alice said.
Rhea nodded.
Bella and Rhea followed Edward towards the car parking, Alice and Jasper following.
“We’ll skip class as well,” Alice said, “might as well pick up some things for the house.”
“You read Greek?” Jasper asked, “and Latin?”
“I do, I’ve just read all my copies,” Rhea said.
“You can borrow some of my books,” Jasper offered.
“That would be amazing,” Rhea said.
“Let’s go to the supermarket,” Alice said, “I can look up some books in Greek and Latin for you and Jasper.”
“That would be amazing,” Rhea said following Bella to her truck.
Alice followed.
“Why don’t we follow you to your house, then we can drive to the supermarket in Edward’s car,” Alice suggested, “if we finish in time, we could go to Port Angeles.”
