Chapter Ten

Rhea felt herself waking up, a cold hand was on her forehead, brushing the hair behind her ear and pulling the blanket back around her shoulders.

Opening her eyes, she spotted Esme Cullen and she quickly pushed herself when she remembered what happened with Nero, Meg, and Apollo... Alice and Jasper.

“Rhea you’re safe, Jasper and Alice brought you back to our house,” Esme said, “are you okay, dear?”

“I just overdid it a bit, happens sometimes,” Rhea said looking up and saw that Jasper was reading something in Latin.

It would seem that she was sleeping in his lap, there was a pillow of course. He was sitting in the corner part of the couch, so she could lay straight.

“Overdid it?” Alice asked.

Rhea could see that she was doing something on her laptop next to Jasper.

“Will won’t be pleased,” Rhea said, “or Bella for that matter.”

“Are you okay?” Esme asked.

“Bit of rest and food, then I’ll be as good as new,” Rhea admitted.

“I’ll make something,” Esme said.

“Bella knows we’re vampires, she and Edward are coming over, it might be better if you wait to tell us what happened when they arrived,” Alice said, “along with how you knew what we were.”

“Deal,” Rhea said.

She wasn’t moving from where she had been placed.

Why was she sleeping in Jasper’s lap in the first place? She didn’t know if she wanted to find out the reason, she felt safe where she was.

“Wait... why is Edward with Bella?” Rhea asked pushing herself up, “she was going somewhere with Angelia and Jessica? Okay... who am I killing?”

“Edward scared them, don’t worry,” Alice said, “now lay down.”

“Yes ma’am,” Rhea said.

She layed back down in Jasper’s lap, she had been lucky she was fast enough to move the book or else she would have hit it.

“Midget’s awake,” Emmett said sitting down next to Alice.

Alice pushed him.

It didn’t stop Emmett from grinning.

“I’ll flip you onto another table, see if I don’t,” Rhea swore, “not even Rosalie’s glare will stop me from doing so.”

“Edward and Bella might take a while, he’s taking her out for dinner,” Alice said, “you’re sure your fine, your pretty black and blue.”

“Just drop me in a bathtub, it’ll remove the bruising, but that’s all I’ll get from any battle or fight,” Rhea promised.

Rhea felt slightly bad about eating all their food.

“Don’t feel bad, we don’t eat human food,” Jasper said.

“That makes sense,” Rhea said pushing herself up to sit up.

Esme was walking into the room with a tray of food.

“It also explains why you keep slipping food into Bella’s truck when we’re not looking... we do eat it,” she said.

“You need it more than we did darlin’,” Jasper said.

Rhea looked at him.

He smiled.

She had to remind herself that he was with Alice, when she looked next to him, Alice was gone and Rhea felt someone braiding her hair.

“Jasper, you’re going to lose,” Emmett said showing him a remote controller.

“Doubt it,” Rhea said.

Alice finished braiding her hair, before sitting next to her and showing her, her laptop.

Alice was grinning.

Carlisle sat next to Alice.

Rhea started to eat her dinner. She also had a feeling that Carlisle was there in case the game came to physical blows.

Rhea could only hope that Bella wasn’t there when it started.

While it was embrassing to admit how much she needed to eat, Esme was happy to make her more food.

Carlisle wrote down what she said, what information she had gotten from the children of Apollo.

It meant she was still eating when Bella walked into the living room with Edward behind her.

Emmett and Jasper were still playing their game, there had been a few matches. Each bet getting more and more surprising.

Alice was able to get her attention from time to time, mostly showing her clothing, along with make-up and hair stuff.

“What happened?” Bella asked.

“I could ask you the same thing,” Rhea said staring at her.

Esme replacing what was on her tray.

“Nice bruising,” Bella said.

“It was an important fight, some people do not deserve being placed in positions of powers,” Rhea said.

“What did you do? Fight an army oh hellhounds?” Bella asked.

“There might have been some hellhounds.”

“Seriously?”

“Too tired too lie.”

“Charlie’s gonna freak.”

“Not after I’ve taken a shower or bath.”

“Hellhound?” Edward asked.

Rhea blinked before remembering where she and Bella were, she put food into her mouth to stop herself from saying anything else.

“It’s a long story,” Bella said sitting down.

“Very long,” Rhea agreed.

“Let her finish eating,” Esme said.

It didn’t take her long to finish eating, with a nod she told them the same story she told Bella. All she could add was the battle she had just fought; between her, Apollo and Nero.

Something she had to do to revenge her cousin’s death.

Carlisle and his family stared, withotu thinking about it, she looked at the glass table and put her left arm through it.

Someone had changed her into a short sleeve, so her bare skin went into the glass.

Jasper pulled her back, taking her left arm into his hands.

Rhea wasn’t bleeding and there was only light bruising.

“There must have been a different way to show that destroys something and puts yourself in harms way,” Esme scolded before getting a broom to clean up the glass.

“You could have done what you did to show me,” Bella said.

“That happens sometimes when I don’t think things through, it’s a downside to being a Greek or Roman Demigod,” Rhea said, “sorry about the table, Esme.”

“Emmett would have destoryed it at some point,” Esme said.

“Bells, are you okay?” Rhea asked Bella.

“I’m not getting on your dangerous side,” Bella said.

“I feel truly loved,” Rhea said.

“You didn’t realise how many where attacked you? While you were fighting?” Jasper asked.

“That’s the reason the Achilles Curse is a curse and not a blessing,” Rhea said, thinking about the rover around New Rome, “injuries are only surface level and pain can be a slow thing to notice. It’s the reason I could stop Taylor’s van from turning Bella into a pancake.”

“Rhea,” Bella groaned.

“Yes, dearest sister with breakable bones,” Rhea said.

“You didn’t tell me that.”

“Didn’t see a reason to.”

“You suck.”

“Not knowing where you’ve been.”

“The pit?” Carlisle asked.

“Tartarus,” Bella said.

“Must you say that? That place is the reason I have so many nightmares and my condition,” Rhea said narrowing her eyes, “Nico and Annabeth are the same, but they’re being looked after by Apollo’s children. They didn’t have to hide so many details.”

“I see,” Carlisle muttered before turning around, and asking Rhea, “would I be able to get files from them?”

“I didn’t think of that,” Rhea said, “I’m sure Nico wouldn’t mind me asking for his. Might even bring it to your office himself. Don’t be surprised if you think he’s broken in, we’ve forgotten how to do normal after the giant war.”

“And Nico is the reason you knew we were vampires, right?” Edward asked.

“He was, according to him, I have no self-preservation and this, I think Hades and Nico monitor whoever I’m around,” Rhea admitted, “Persephone as well, now that I think about it. Many at Camp Half-blood think I’m stupid, so it matters little when I go up against an entire army by myself.”

“I will hit you,” Bella said.

“Bella, I’d rather you didn’t. You’d sooner break the bones in your hand,” Rhea said.

“I won’t,” Bella said.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask Annabeth, she learnt that fact the hard way,” Rhea said.

Esme took the tray from her.

“She slapped me accross the face,” Rhea continued nodding, “almost broken all the bones in her hand, she hasn’t forgiven me since then.”

“I hate you.”

“Sure.”

“You’re the worse.”

“Octavian, Ares and Hera.”

“Can’t two of them kill you?”

“They can get in line.”

“Get in line?” Jasper asked passing Edward his remote.

“Oh, right, I’m good at pissing people off. Something by merely breathing,” Rhea said shrugging.

Bella sighed.

“Some of them want me dead; Ares is the worse of the two since Mars happens to like me,” Rhea said, “which stucks for Frank, cause when they fight they do so in his head, but it is funny to watch him scold the War Gods like their naughty toddlers.”

“And Frank has to listen to them fight?” Bella asked.

“He does, Mars Blessing, it’s one of the reason we don’t spend a lot of time together. I’m just glad I can’t hear Poseidon and Neptune fight,” Rhea said, “I’ll live long and happy life without knowing how many earthquicks are happening becaise someone or something pissed them off... usually Zeus because he’s a massive bastard.”

“You need sleep,” Bella said.

“Wait, what about Charlie?” Rhea asked.

“I’ve already talked to him, he know you two are here after almost being kidnapped when you were reading outside,” Carlisle said.

She stared at him.

“He knows you escaped and that Jasper found you.”

“Charlie knows you’re here, don’t worry about that dear,” Esme said, “he knows about Bella as well.”

“Oh,” Rhea said.

Alice hugged her.

Rhea’s face went slightly red, and she thanked Poseidon that her skin was dark enough that it was hard to see.

“Will is going to be happy,” Bella said, “and Nico is going to be smug.”

Rhea stared at Bella.

Esme have Bella something, before handing her a bowel with mud cake and ice cream.

“Other way round Bella,” Rhea said, “WIll is going to be smug.... and Nico is going to be happy, Nico doesn’t do smug not since Eros dragged him out of the cloest, now I want to kill Eros.”

“Wouldn’t that piss off Aphrodite?” Bella asked.

“No, Eros isn’t her child... that, and Aphrodite is easy to piss off to the point that it’s not fun to do so,” Rhea said nodding before eating her dessert.

Before she didn’t care and most of her focus had gone into making sure she didn’t poke her eye out with a fork.

“Psyche is a good example of this, most people forget about her... also forget that Psyche had been pregnant when Aphrodite put her through those trails,” Rhea said.

“But she couldn’t see him?” Bella asked.

“Like I said, some things aren’t worth questioning, all I know is that they’re happy together and Eros doesn’t cheat on her,” Rhea said.

“Okay, time for bed,” Esme said taking the bowls from them.

Jasper picked her up, she was sure someone was talking as he carried her off.

But she was tired enough that she couldn’t hear them, she started drifting off the moment Jasper had picked her up.
