The Elevator-chapter Five "How long do you think we're going to be walking before we finally find Silver" Toby grumbled tired and getting annoyed with the fact they were no closer to finding Silver. It wasn't like him to get so frustrated at something, but this was a lot to process for all of them. "As long as it takes clearly." Jacob answered, "We can't just give up on trying to find her" he added "I'm not saying we should, I'm just wondering if this is the right direction, 'cos so far there's been no sign of her and the last gateway wasn't that far away. All we keep doing is dodging dinosaurs and lets face it, how long do we all reckon Silver would really last out here." He said "Well lets hope she has survival instincts in there somewhere" Jacob replied, not sure she did, but tried to sound hopeful. "She has" Indigo said, "We've come too far to turn back now" she added. "I agree" Jacob agreed. Some movement in the distance caught Toby's attention, "Well I never, is that Sil-" he started "SILVER" Indigo shouted, pleased to see her friend was ok. "You're ok" Toby said gently "You guys all came to find me, I was beginning to think you were gonna leave me here" Silver admitted "It was considered" Jacob laughed, giving her a hug. "By them only" Indigo pointed out. Not wanting Silver to think she was part of that because she wasn't. "What happened to your foot?" Toby asked noticing the wound on her foot, "That was from a little dinosaur that I believed looked sweet, but turned out to be not so nice, kinda reminded me of a chicken, same sort of size but wasn't as nice as he looked." Silver explained. "Sounds like a Shuvuuia, carnivore hence why he bit you" Jacob informed her, he had loved dinosaurs when he was younger and knew every single one of them. "You know its actually thought to be part of the owl family, as its vision is as good as an owl's and they are nocturnal so you were lucky to see him" he added "He tried to get my foot, how is that lucky?" She sarcastically asked. "Oh talking of feet, I bought you these" Indigo said handing her a carrier bag. Silver opened the bag to find some black trainers and her dream sweater "You got it" She screeched with joy, she hugged her friends and without a moment's thought was putting the sweater on first. "Thank you...thank you so much" Silver said gently with a smile that was a purely grateful smile. She wiped her feet and put her trainers on. "Oh gosh, I forgot how good shoes felt" she said loving the feeling beneath her feet "Silver's back" Toby pointed out rolling his eyes, but secretly pleased they had managed to find her. "With my new sweater too" she smiled, everyone rolled their eyes at her and looked away from her. "So, where did you come here?" Jacob asked trying to work out where the gate would be back to their time. "Over there, but it won't let you back in the way you get here, trust me I tried." "It doesn't drop you in the same place as the person before you either." Toby informed her "So why us?" Silver asked, "Loads of people were on the same level as us but none of them just disappeared" she added "Good question, I have no answer for that yet" Jacob answered truthfully "Whatever the reason, we still need to try to get back somehow" "Well now we're all in one place, I guess we have more chances of finding it now" "It's not the way we came, that's for sure" Indigo chipped in. "No so I guess we carry on forward and hope we don't run into something we don't want to run into" Toby suggested "What about the place we went to last time, that got us home?" Silver suggested "Just in case you haven't noticed silv' everywhere in this forest looks the same, how do we know what part of the forest we were in or even if we were back at the same location?" Toby sarcastically answered "You both have a valid point though" Jacob remarked stopping Silver from retaliating to the comment. "While I think of a plan let's just rest here for a while." He added as he made himself comfortable on the log that Silver had been using, they all shared their stories of what they had been through to get to where they were, between themselves leaving Jacob to work out a plan of action. "Right! The only plan I can come up with is to just do what we did last time, search and hope for the best, only this time we should hear less complaining from you Silver" Jacob let them all know "Hey I didn't complain that much" "Yes you did" they all answered in unison. She put up he hands in surrender, "Well what do you expect from me" she replied. "My feet were under attack by twigs" she added defending herself. "When are you thinking of doing this? 'Cos its starting to get dark" "The dinosaurs walk through here at night" Silver reminded them. "Maybe we should sleep up in a tree" Toby suggested "What if we fall out?" Indigo asked him "Never mind that, what if you can't climb up a tree?" Silver questioned, thinking of herself at this point. "One of us keeps watch while the other three sleep, if someone looks like they might fall the one awake helps them and as for not being able to climb we'll help you Silv'. We just can't stay down low tonight because of those little Shuvuuia's, one of them has Silvers sent now and knows exactly what humans taste like" Jacob replied "As for the bigger dinosaur, you described that's a herbivore, so not really a threat unless you make it feel threatened. 'Cos it sounded like a Triceratops" he informed them. "Well I for one like the tree idea" Toby said, starting to climb one. "What difference will it be, if we were in a tree though?" Indigo asked, "Some of these dinosaurs are taller than the trees are?" "Yes agreed, but a lot of them cannot climb" he reminded them. "Oh yeh' makes more sense now" she answered still not convinced this was going to be a much safer option, as she remembered that some were as tall as trees and they would never stand a chance against a Gigantosaurus. Others ate trees like the brachiosaurus, the long necked dinosaur that everyone loved for their well known gentleness and graceful ways. The Elevator chapter Six Other than the loud noises that were happening in the forest, it wasn't as busy tonight with dinosaurs passing by. Silver looked at her sleeping friends, although she would never say it out loud she was really glad they had come to rescue her and hadn't deserted her, although they were all stuck in a dangerous time they were stronger together than apart. "You're awake early" Silver stated to Indigo who had just woken up. "Yeh' its not that comfortable up here" "No I know but Jake had a good point, that little dinosaur was cute, but as soon as it bit me it kept jumping as high as it could to try again" Silver remarked "I know, hopefully we find that stupid gate today though" Indigo said hopeful. "Hopefully" Silver agreed. "So, where are we gonna be searching for this invisible gate?" Toby asked "Well its not here" Silver reminded them. "Just do what we did last time, I guess. It's kinda hard to say when we can't see it" Jacob reminded them, they all looked to him for the answers, but even he had to admit when he didn't have any. "Well...That's what we do then" Toby replied still sounding half asleep. They walked further into the forest looking for the invisible gate, with no clue where to start they just walked around, this time there was less complaining from Silver, Indigo guessed that was because she was really tired, was the only times she had ever seen Silver so quiet. It seemed to take them hours of searching before Indigo shouted, "FOUND IT" "Really?" Silver asked excitedly. "Yay" Toby smiled, happy to hear those words. "Come on lets get out of here, oh, Silver no more shopping when we get back" Jacob said "Yeah cos if you disappear this time, we're not coming to the rescue." Toby added "I don't need too, I have my beautiful sweater" she said with a genuine smile. "Maybe we should all hold hands so we don't get put in different locations of the shopping mall." Indigo commented. "Hate to admit this but it sounds like a good idea." Toby found himself agreeing, they stood in boy, girl formation, hand in hand they all walked into the space that Indigo led them too. The light around them glowed brightly. "Guys I hate to point out the obvious but this isn't the shopping mall" Toby remarked. "Really?, I hadn't noticed," Jacob replied, as they looked at the forest. Somehow it looked different, there was now a little stream with a natural waterfall flowing next to them the trees seemed younger somehow and a little less tall. "Maybe we've just been dropped in our local forest" Indigo said wanting to believe they were closer to their era, rather than somewhere else. "It's definitely another forest" Silver noted, everyone looked at her for a moment without saying a word. "What? It is though" Silver added "We know, that's sort of the problem here" Toby explained to her. "So where's the mall? We should have walked straight back there not here" she declared, clearly annoyed that she wasn't back where she wanted to be. "If we knew that, we'd probably be back by now" Jacob pointed out. "No probably about it" Toby stated "Are we still with dinosaurs?" Silver asked dread filling her stomach. "Probably, we're probably just at a different part of that forest" Toby told her "What if it's our normal forest?" Indigo offered. She moved forward, as she did so an arrow just missed her head. "REALLY?" Toby asked annoyed "RUN" Silver yelled, they ran and hid themselves in a gap under a tree. "Bows and arrows now" Toby muttered shaking his head, "I don't think many people use them in forests anymore" Sliver whispered, with her utmost serious facial expression. Again no one said anything, they all just gave her the face expression that let her know that they already knew that.
