The Elevator-chapter Seven The sound of horses running towards them came thick and fast, escaping whatever they had just walked in on. "I can't believe they're getting away with using bow and arrows in this day and age" Silver grumbled "Have you ever thought this could be somewhere else other than our kind of forest?" Toby asked her. "No I hadn't" She admitted, "Why couldn't we just go to the shopping mall like we did last time?" She asked herself more than anyone else, but was spoken none the less. "I dunno if anyone noticed but I nearly got wiped out by the arrow and none of you have even batted an eye lid at it" Indigo complained "Sorry Indie' did mean to ask if you were alright, but with running and hiding it got a bit side tracked" Jacob answered in his usual sarcastically funny way. "Are you alright?" He added afterwards "Yes Jake I'm fine thank you for asking, my life flashed before my eyes for a moment, but other than that I'm ok" she answered having prepared her answer. "We have to stop dropping in at the wrong time" Toby commented "It's not like we have a time selection here is it" Jacob laughed "Maybe if we had planned all of this journey in the first place, we would have been ready for it" Indigo added. "Guess we have to learn to expect the unexpected now" Silver stated. "Well, let's try not to make this a habit" Toby said in response. "I never planned too" Silver answered. "No she just walks straight into it" Jacob laughed, Silver stuck her tongue out at him in response. "Does that make us the stupid ones for following her?" Indigo asked "No, of course not. We're the rescuers." Toby smiled, "That makes us the clever ones" he added "That's alright then" Indigo replied satisfied with the answer. "We can't sit here all night" Silver remarked about, starting to get restless and cold. "We could be safe here tonight, no point moving right now, seeing as the night is drawing in" Jacob told them, everyone nodded apart from Silver. "What about the dinosaurs? or whatever those were earlier" she asked "Silv' they were horses and men on them" Indigo reminded her "They might not have been men, they could have been something out of the lord of rings for all we know" Sliver argued. "Sorry to disappoint you, but it looks like we're sort of trapped in a history lesson ranging from dinosaurs to whatever this is" Jacob let them know. "What does that mean?" Silver asked confused. "Well it could mean two things, it could mean we've gone back through time...no scrub that or we're reliving every aspect of what's happened at this time in every year or in our case era's" "Things can see us though" Toby said "Because we actually become part of history maybe...I dunno whatever it is it's just weird and shouldn't be happening" Jacob answered. "agreed" Silver said as she stood herself up, "Sorry guys i just need to stretch my legs for a little while" she added as she had gotten far too uncomfortable for her liking. "It can't be too bad here, if there's horses that means there should be people" Indigo remarked "Well they don't seem to be nice ones, when their firing arrows at us" Silver pointed out "That's just how it was back then, protecting their land and all that jazz" Indigo replied, she had always enjoyed history at school but had never been very good at it. "It's rude, why shoot first and ask questions after, the poor person might not even get a chance to explain themselves and even worse they might have been people like us, just trapped here." Silver stated, making them all feel uncomfortable by the ending comment. "Well were gonna have to hope it don't happen to us" Jacob answered, in the only way he could. "Maybe we should make a make-shift fire tonight?" Toby suggested. "Is that wise?" Indigo asked "There's no dinosaurs that can hurt us" he reminded her "Maybe not, but there could be other predators that might hurt us." Silver warned. "I know they had boars, wolves and deer, unsure about the other things" Jacob replied "They had to hunt for foot in this era" Indigo reminded Silver Great...just great we have none of this in our forests, why can't we be in our own forest" she huffed, feeling sorry for herself again. "You know we should enjoy this walk through history, not everyone gets this chance" "I'm not a historian I didn't want this" she continued to complain. "She lasted a bit longer here," Toby said to Jacob "Means I owe you a tenner when we get back" Jacob answered "Sweet" Toby replied shaking Jacobs hand "A bet is a bet after all" he agreed smiling "You're joking aren't ya, your not taking bets on how long it takes me to complain are you?" Silver directly asked them "Looks that way" Indigo laughed, "Your not helping Indie'" she moaned "Guess we need to do the same here as we usually do to look for the gate then!" Toby said stretching gently. "Yeh, we could start here but obviously we already know that they're not that close together" Jacob replied yawning as they were all just waking up, from yet another rough night. "I'm ready when you guys are" Sliver said full of energy this morning, even though she had stayed up talking to jacob most the night, neither of them able to sleep very well, the noises in the forest weren't as bad as they had been in dinosaur land, but there were still some unusual sounds. To make it feel less scary, Jacob talked her into a game of guess the sound and the ones they didn't know they just made a guess and agreed to agree to disagree on them. "How do you have hardly any sleep but still wake up all energised?" Jacob asked her "Dunno, just always been a habit of mine I guess." "What she means is, she goes to so many parties she's used to." Indigo stated, Silver had two jobs one was at the bar with the other three, but she was also a party planner on the side. "Fair enough" he answered. The day had gone by them rather slowly as they looked around for the gate. "Why did it have to be invisible, why couldn't it just have some kind of normal door or something?" Silver questioned, more to herself than anyone else, it was one of those think out loud questions. "Would be too easy then" Toby replied "It adds to the mystery" Jacob said "Or it was someones really bad joke" Indigo put in her thoughts on that. The sound came thick and fast, the sound of galloping horses heading straight for them, none of them had time to alert one another, before the men on the horses had spotted them. An arrow caught Silvers yellow jumper pinning her to the tree she was close to.
