“Hell, don’t ask me to stop that,” his grandfather said. “Spoiling kids is what grandparents are made for.” It was hopeless, Robbie thought. He might as well set his mind to the fact that he would be the disciplinarian when he came home. “I’ll check with you,” he said, tilting his head toward his Mom and Dad, “before I leave again. It’s good to see the rest of you.” On the way back to the house, Robbie made a detour to where he knew, from his hunting days, a field of daisies grew. He picked as many as his arms could carry to take home to Florence as a thank you for his beautiful son. It sounded like a hen party when Robbie arrived home. Florence was seated comfortably.
