The meeting convened on the porch at the Lindgrens’ homestead. Florence and Brooke stayed home with the newborn; and since Debra, Beka, and Kira didn’t need to be at the meeting, they made their way upstream to see the new baby.
Robbie called the meeting to order. “Thank you for coming. I want you to know that I’ve found a lot of support for our new democracy here in south Texas. But before I get to the details on that, I’d like to share the name Florence and I came up with for our son. We have decided on Lawrence.”
