Aria’s POV
This is an amazing tree, I wish I could stay here and just watch the whole land, it’s amazing what I can see when I am up here. I can see the hills from afar, I see the river from afar too. Does he go all the way to there to fetch his water? Poor Woffy, I will go and fetch one bucket for him, the one that I used this few days. He has not recovered yet, so I will help him one last time before I go away from here. I just hope the owner of the hide-out doesn't show up soon. Moon goddess, please make that happen, let Woffy get well first.
I wish I could have stayed longer, but I am very certain that my father's guards are looking for me right now.
“Hey woffy, will you join me up here?” I ask him, he is just staring at me. I wonder why he doesn't want to turn into his human form, doesn't he want me to see his human face. I would love to know him better.
He just continues to stare at me. I decide to just get down from the tree. It's not that high, but if it were a human, it would have been quite a task for them to climb up and down. He looks away as I am climbing down, I immediately know why. S**t, my goodies are all out. He must have had a hell of a show these few days. I was completely unaware, all I wanted was to take care of him.
Something about him made me care for him so much. The way he looks at me, I cannot even place it. He makes me feel so different inside.
“Your tree is spectacular. But I guess you don't want me on it, so I got down. No need to look at me that way, alright.” I say to him.
“And you better turn so that you can tell me your name, alright.” I scowl. He glowers at me. “Okay, if you don't want me to see your human face. You are so full of yourself.” I utter.
I decide that the best thing is to just go down to the river and fetch him some water. How hard can it be?
“You lie there, I will be back.” I say as I pick the bucket with no lid and head towards the direction I saw the river. It's so far and also I cannot risk turning and ruining the only clothes I have. The only option is just to walk.
I admire the trees, birds, the weather as I walk. And in no time I get to the river. The water is so dirty. And so little, it's like it will dry soon.
I notice that there are small holes dug at the river bank. I walk towards it only to realize that this is where he fetches the clean water since the water filters itself before it fills in the hole. It's so clever. The person who did this is a genius.
F**k, now how will I even fetch the water? The hole is so narrow, and I don't even have a can to use. I will have to go all the way back to pick it. But it will be dark already, I wouldn't make it. I cannot fetch the dirty water.
I turn to walk back, with the bucket in my hand, I feel so stupid. But then I almost run into Woffy. He is holding a small rusty metal can.
“Oh Woffy thank you.” I say, kneeling to pick the can. But then he drops it on the ground. I look at him in anger for what he has done, but I see something else in his eyes, an apologetic look. Well, maybe it's just my eyes lying to me.
His jaw must be in pain for carrying the can all through.
“I am sorry, Woffy.” I say, caressing his jaws with both my arms. I kiss him on the crook of his neck before standing. His tail wiggles happily. I smile to him.
“Ouch!” I scream as the can cuts me deep as I am trying to fetch the water. I start to bleed a little. I press the cut to wait for it to stop bleeding. I see woffy right by my side with a weird look in his eyes. Is he worried about me?
He looks at me for so long?
This was the time to turn and tell me exactly what he wants to say. But he doesn't, I start to wonder why.
The bleeding stops and the healing kicks in. That is an advantage of being a Lycan. I guess for me, it's the only advantage since being a princess turned out to be a curse for me.
I take the can again as I begin to fetch water, woffy knocks it right off me. It's clear that he doesn't want me to use it again.
“Are you worried about me, huh?” I ask, teasingly looking at me. It's nice for someone to worry about me apart from myself. His eyes tell it all, he is worried about me, I guess he doesn’t want me to get hurt again, maybe. Well, it's only assumptions, I am not really sure.
I decide to just obey him, I pick up the bucket, at least it has some little water in it. It will help us until tomorrow morning.
It's almost totally dark now, good for us, we have super eyesight. So, it isn't hard tracing our steps back to the hideout.
I didn't even realise today is the full moon, I always love watching it, it's always amazing. Woffy is walking behind me slowly, I think he must be tired of all the walking. He hasn't healed properly yet, so I walk in his pace. I wish I could just carry him. But I know he wouldn't let me.
Suddenly, I hear something cracking up right behind me.
“ Woffy." I scream, thinking that he might be in danger, or maybe he has fallen down. I let go of the bucket, causing the water to spill all over. I turn, ready to attack the person who is intruding.
I gasp immediately at the sight before me as I turn to look back.
