Chapter- 01
.
.
Two Years Before
.
.
The last of the sun rays peeked through his window before the sun disappeared behind the horizon, and if it had any life, it would have pitied him.
Pitied the state he was in.
He was broken beyond words.
The room was in a complete mess.
Pillows, bedcovers…
Books, newspapers, notes…
Guitar, cord, wires…
Clothes…
Toys….
Electronic gadgets, including his precious headset gifted to him by a fan…
Ornaments, rings, chains, bracelets…
Bottles, cups, plates…
Everything was a mess as he had thrown the things, creating a mess as pain clawed in his chest. He had thrown things and even torn some of his clothes as he could not handle this pain anymore.
The truth was that he had been thrown away; just like these objects, he was thrown away.
His heart was breaking into millions of pieces, not able to handle the pain that seemed to consume his very mind.
This room was not soundproof, and luckily, the neighbors got irritated with the noise and came knocking on his door
If it were his flat, none would have come looking for him because his room was soundproof, just like everybody else’s in his apartment as all of his neighbors were involved in the music field, and most of them were singers just like him.
Thankfully, the neighbors around this flat he was currently in had gone on a vacation, or they would have come knocking on his door with the way he had screamed.
His throat hurt. He had an audition for a singing show tomorrow, but he didn’t care.
Everything was lost. So, what was the use of singing anyway?
He looked at the broken mirror and observed his tear-streaked cheeks, swollen eyes, and messy hair.
He was pathetic. Pathetic beyond words.
Look at him! Look at his stupid face with a lost, broken expression.
Who was he?
Nothing.
He was useless, nothing, a worthless piece of s**t that none wanted.
His mind was spinning, not able to come to terms with the fact of what had happened hours before.
His heart hurt a lot.
He cannot accept this reality.
He wanted to close his eyes and live in the beautiful past, but no matter how much he tried to pretend that nothing happened, he was sadly in this cruel reality instead of in his past.
Garian Warrick…
He was Garrion Warrick…
An Alpha born in an ordinary family, a miracle according to his mother.
A talented student, according to his teachers.
A gifted basketball player – his coach’s words.
The King of Music or that was what people called him during his school days, and the name even followed him till college.
Skilled in guitar and piano...
But he became famous for his voice, and that was why he had been recruited by Clyde Company, which has been in this field for over a century. He had been reluctant at first as he was in his last year of college.
But with encouragement from others and his friends, he had agreed to join the company as soon as he finished his final semester because the work would definitely keep him busy, and he wanted to finish his college degree in music.
He had joined the Clyde Company, one of the top companies in the music industry. He had been asked to attend vocal classes provided by the Clyde Company for a few months before releasing an album. He had passed the vocal examinations easily.
He didn’t just join the Clyde Company, in short CC, commonly called by the people, shortening the name.
He had joined this company with Izetta.
Izetta Verbena…
Izetta….
The girl who had won his heart and kept it with her.
She was bold, brave, and witty.
She had fallen for him first. She was the one who confessed to him when they were in college, asking him to go on a date with her, changing his world completely that day.
Until then, he had only seen her as his childhood friend, whom he went to school with and later college.
Garian and Izetta had been friends since their childhood. And then there was Isandro Jenkin, his other friend. Three of them were kind of a group who had always remained attached to the hip ever since they were children.
Isandro and Izetta were from wealthy families, and their families were well respected in the area they lived around.
Isandro’s father had owned textile shops all over the city and was respected for keeping tradition-based techniques even in the modern ages for making clothes. Isandro, the second son to his father, was an Alpha, just like his brother.
Izetta was born in the Verbena family, who was famous for their traditional musical instruments. Isandro and Izetta lived in a town whose people loved old ways and traditions. They both were neighbors.
Garian had only come into their life when he was sent to live with his uncle, who worked as a servant in the Verbena family Mansion.
Izetta was surprisingly a beta, unlike her two brothers, who were Alphas. She was the first-ever beta in her family as there hadn’t been any child born that wasn’t an Alpha for over a century.
But, instead of letting her gender dictate her life, she was just as talented as her brothers. She excelled in her studies, loved music, and learned every instrument in her father’s numerous shops. She had worked hard, harder than everyone even in the schools, and consistently achieved the first rank in their class.
She had befriended him, a relative of the servant who worked for them.
She didn’t see his status nor that he was poor and that he was nothing compared in front of the Verbena family.
She had even asked her father to help him pay the school fees. He could never ever repay what she had done for him. He had wanted to work hard, not wanting to waste the chance she had given him. That was why he studied dedicatedly and had gotten a scholarship, not wanting to burden his uncle or Izetta’s father.
Isandro had also befriended him despite his status, and their trio group had all sorts of fun, from making Izetta skip classes to stealing mangoes from neighbor’s trees.
And when the three of them agreed to join the same music college, Garian had been over the moon because life couldn’t get any happier than this for him.
She and Isandro were the reason he pursued his singing, encouraging him to become a singer. He had been reluctant as many people were great singers in this field, and to be a singer amid them seemed challenging. He loved challenges, though, so he had agreed to the offer presented to him.
He had become a singer for Clyde Company when he was twenty-one. He had been given an opportunity of a lifetime.
His twenty-first year on the earth was a life-changing year for him.
Because in that age only, during his third year of college, Izetta had asked him out on a date, and from there, they had started their beautiful journey of love and togetherness, thinking that he would spend his life with Izetta.
Izetta was a marvelous beta woman who was the envy of the college. She danced so well to the music. But when she got to know that he was entering the singing industry, she was ecstatic but at the same time adamant that she would never leave him alone and they would not have time to even meet in his busy schedule.
He was elated, knowing how much she loved him and wanted to stay with him all the time. She was clingy, and he loved her attention on him. He enjoyed their time together and the way she revolved only around him as if he was her Sun and she his planet.
He had asked his manager at that time to recommend her, showing dance videos of hers. She had entered the music field even though she loves dancing, all for him.
He had worked hard to become someone worthy of her.
And Isandro joined CC a year later and got promoted to be his personal manager, and they three were united again. Garian was so happy that he had been afraid of it.
Isandro and Izetta were his family. They were all he had.
Things had been hectic, and he didn’t know how his first year as a singer went, with busy schedules of vocal practice, learning dance which had been the hardest part to accept as he had to know at least some moves to entertain the audience. It was a competitive field to survive in. But looking at her working so hard, there was no option to go back.
He had seen how Alphas were in general, but he didn’t want to be one of them. He didn’t want to abuse his partner in the name of love. He never forced her to do anything she was not comfortable with. He had given her every freedom and had never questioned her about her male friends, never gotten jealous of her closeness with other people as she had always been a social butterfly.
In this modern world, ruts and heats were controlled with medicines and let out in the days they chose to. He had never forced her to go through his rut with him. He had been the perfect partner to her. She was his everything.
His first album came, named, ‘My First.’
He was twenty-two when he released his first album, biting his nails in part fear and part excitement of how it would reach the audience. Because he didn’t belong to a group, nor did he behave like a typical Alpha like many of the people in the Music industry. He was an ordinary man. He didn’t expect anything from these songs when he released them.
‘My First’ had six songs, and every song in it was inspired by her. She had been his inspiration.
At first, he wrote only one song about her, but seeing how happy she was after hearing that a song had been written about her, he couldn’t help but write more songs about her. The album made him to be recognized among the people. He can’t say that he had grown popular like other singers, but his video songs fetched millions of views. It had been a victory.
And after his first album, she had made her debut with her single, and it didn’t go as well, much as they expected. She had been heartbroken, but he had written a song for her, hoping that she would feel better, and she had asked to use that song in her next album. He had agreed to her requests as she was his everything and his songs belonged to her anyway.
Her album next year had gained her popularity, especially the song he had given her. Even though he wanted her to be independent and share her music with the world without succumbing to the audience’s reaction, but he was happy that she was happy.
He had reached twenty-three and released another album named ‘Anything for you.’ It was again inspired by her. He had wanted to share something else with his fans, but she had wanted him to only write songs about her. It was the first time they argued. She hadn’t spoken with him for a month over this. Not wanting to stay separated from her, he had written the songs for her, and the songs he had written before were kept in her cupboard, an act that would show her that he loved her and he was surrendering his music only to her.
She had been over the moon, and their relationship only strengthened, or that was what he had thought.
He had been asked to be a male lead in a movie named ‘A Beautiful Love.’
She had fought with him again that she could not see him getting closer to anyone but her, even if it was for a movie. He had argued with her, knowing that he could not miss this opportunity, and she had said that she could be alone his female lead and none.
He was at the time where he could have reached his peak. But knowing he could not be away from her, he had requested the Director and Producer to let her be the female lead, saying she was his best friend and all. The Producer wasn’t happy, but he agreed to his requests. Izetta had then asked for her forgiveness for being selfish as she could not see him with anyone.
He had let it go, for the foolish blind man he was.
That movie changed their carrier….
She grew popular, more so than ever, for her glamorous look and dance moves in that movie. And he was recognized as one of the top ten singers.
Izetta was then approached by CC to be a member of the group they were going to form to gain popularity. She had agreed readily to join the ‘Lotus’ group.
That was the chance she had been waiting for, and he had been happy for her success.
She began to change, morphing into someone he could not recognize her with.
They had a lot of arguments the previous year, from wanting to keep their relationship secret to their busy time schedules.
Garian had wanted their relationship to be public even though his contract said that he could not enter in any kind of relationship for five years, but he didn’t care about the company rules or his career, as he wanted the world to know who these songs were for and who she belonged to as much as whom he belonged to. The fangirl letters from many people were slightly scary for him.
But he let it go, not wanting to ruin her career just like she had asked him.
The changes in her over a year were startling.
She had changed her black hair into a crimson-colored one, got piercings over the belly button, and even was using a golden color lens to cover her beautiful black eyes.
There wasn’t any problem in changing things about you. But she felt that she would only be loved if she changed like this, and the argument they had about plastic surgery was irreparable.
Garian didn’t know why she couldn’t see that he loved her as she was, and Izetta was perfect as she was. But she didn’t listen to him and went and did plastic surgery without even letting him know anything about it. She had informed him only after that.
His heart was turning heavier every day with the mess his life had become, along with his growing addiction to alcohol.
Amid the chaos his life has become, he released his next album, ‘In Love.’
Again it was all about his love life, and many of his fans sent him letters about how painful and heart-wrenching his new songs were. Many had sent him videos of crying over his lyrics as it was too heart-touching. It had become a trend in social media, a kind of open challenge for anyone to live record them hearing his song for the first time and not cry.
His ‘In Love’ album was a lot more popular and successful than his previous ones, while his personal life was descending into madness.
With strict rules and constant watch from CC’s people, along with them forcing him to behave as they dictate in public from what to eat to where to go, was suffocating him. He wanted to vacate the building provided by them when he signed the contract. He wanted to own a private apartment where none could reach his personal life.
His growing popularity and his decision to move out of the flat provided by CC had started another set of arguments with her.
She wasn’t pleased with him.
He didn’t understand what her problem was.
He was happy with her success and never questioned her choices of dresses, wearing tiny skirts and the very open poses she had recently given to an international magazine. He knew it was her decision about what she wore, but the way she discarded his feelings when she could not even handle him acting with some other female lead was making him depressed and angry.
Why was his love so one-sided?
She was the one who had first confessed her love to him.
She was the one who chased after him when they were in college, insisting him to go on a date with her. Granted, he didn’t love her and saw her only as a friend at that time. He had never wanted to be with omega, unlike other Alphas, as he preferred someone stronger, independent, and someone who could inspire him to live a better life. And she being a beta was a huge plus.
But as days went by, going on many dates with her and getting to know her not as a friend but as a person had changed his heart. He had loved her with all his heart.
But the relationship was draining him so much that he couldn’t write any kind of songs after his third album. He was stuck in his musical career at the mere age of twenty-four.
While he was being suffocated, she became famous as her group was the top three singers all around the world, according to a survey.
She was even nicknamed as Crimson Angel of Lotus by her fans. An image of her standing above a lotus with crimson hair and crimson wings, made by one of her fans, quickly became so popular that many commercials she had acted used that image in banners and such to portray her all over the country.
She was very kind in public, in fact, down to earth to her fans, but when she was with Garian, all they did was argue and fight. She was beginning to make his life into hell.
At one point, Garian had even been ready to break up with her, as the relationship was suffocating them both.
They found out that she was pregnant. She was carrying his child.
At first, he had been not sure about the baby with how he just had his twenty-fifth birthday month before that day. He was young and was not sure about how to raise a baby; with his popularity and busy schedules along with the tours, he had to go through many days for concerts.
But as the days went by, he began to love the child.
He was excited to finish the concert tour he had been in, a few weeks before, to meet Izetta, who was carrying his child.
He promised himself to become a better Alpha for her, to give up on the alcohol, to be a good husband. Yes, he was going to propose to her with the ring he had brought for her.
Imagine his shock when he found that she had aborted their child.
Yes, it was her choice to give birth or abort that child. He wouldn’t have objected if she had told him that she didn’t want a child now but to abort a child without him even knowing was unacceptable.
He had yelled a lot when she met him today noon, and she had slapped him to grow up that it was her decision. She had told him how she had begun to hate him and that she was breaking up with him, not wanting even to see his face again.
He had tried to forgive her for that, but he couldn’t.
He had never forced her into anything.
And he cannot force her to be with him.
It had been an hour since she had left him, informing him that their relationship was over.
He had thrown things away as his heart was hurt and his mind in an angry mess. He had thrown all the baby things he had brought in anticipation along with the ring he had brought to propose. Everything was a waste. What use in keeping them?
This was a small apartment he had rented personally to meet her in secret, and they met here a lot of times. It was a very private area, and the neighbors didn’t know about their real identity. It was a secluded apartment, and this flat was maintained by Isandro.
He had even thought of buying a grand apartment with all his savings to please her and present it as a gift for his child.
Garian laughed aloud at his fate. What an idiotic man he was!
He was only twenty-five, but it felt like his life was over…
Garian shut the door and exited the small flat he had brought just to be with her.
He descended the stairs, not wanting to take the lift and be inside the closed space with the mood he was in.
Garian wiped off the tears from his face, put his mask along with sunglasses on and pulled the hoody closer, not wanting anyone to see him and recognize him. He was not in the mood for anyone.
He didn’t know how Izetta could throw him like this. As if nothing mattered. He will speak with her. He will go to her room, not caring if anyone saw them or not. How can she do this to him?
With a hazy mind, he hopped on his car, the first thing he brought with his first salary.
As he drove in a mindset not suitable for driving, it was no wonder he lost control of the car when all of a sudden, some vehicle slammed into his car, and his car went haywire before hitting a tree nearby. At the same time, his head knocked against the steering, and broken pieces of front glass tore his skin.
He had lost everything within a day…
He had lost his child.
He had lost his love.
He had lost everything.
With that as his final thought, he closed his eyes, giving in to the blissful darkness which seemed more welcoming than this painful reality.
