Nightmares

Todd's POV “Who…Are…you?” He sputtered out blood dripping from his lips down his chin. The woman sauntered toward him her movements like a tiger talking its prey. If he wasn’t afraid for his life, he would have thought her beautiful, but he had seen the darkness that lurked behind her dead hazel eyes. She was nothing but a monster with a pretty face. “I am the one and only.” She purred circling him. “Your hopes, dreams, fears, and nightmares.” Crouching in front of him her fingers pressed under his chin lifting his face to hers. “I am everything. The mother of all.” Dropping her hand, she smirked at him. “Well not to your kind, humans where not my doing.” “What?” The man tilted his head to the said confused by her statement. “But aren’t you human?” He asked. “I am no human. I am the mother of all monsters. I am the goddess of destruction.” She stood lifting her arms to the sky tilting her head back a big grin on her face. “You are just a pathetic little human.” She said dropping her hands. “For now, that is.” She said looking back down at him. “I have given you a gift Todd. Soon you will be like us.” Shooting up from his bed Todd was covered in sweat panting like he had just finished sprinting up a steep hill. Looking around his room he couldn’t help but let out a relieved sigh to see that he had just been dreaming. That crazy woman was not here, and he was still in his room. Falling back his head pressed into his pillow. It didn’t take long before he started to drift back to sleep, but this time he did not dream of that monstrous woman, but of another. A beautiful woman stood in a garden. She wore a long black dress that trailed behind her. Her hair fell down her back in pale blonde waves that almost looked white. Walking toward her he watched her slowly crouch down running her fingers along the peddles of a red rose. The closer he got to her the better view he got of her face. She was gorgeous it almost took his breath away. She unlike that monstrous woman who had attacked him had soft features. She had high cheek bone, full lips, and the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. He had heard of people with two coloured eyes before, but he had never seen it in person. She had one light crystal blue eye, and one emerald, green eye. Her thick black long lashes only made them seem to pop even more. Slowly her eyes rose from the flowers until they were looked at him. A singled tear escaped her eye running down her cheek. He could see her sadness and heart break. She had lost someone close to her and although she was trying to act like she was fine she was hurting on the inside. Who was this broken beauty and why was he dreaming of her? Before he could approach her, a loud crash echoed behind him making him turn away from the woman just in time for that monstrous woman to crashed into him. Jumping up from bed he gasped in horror to again find himself in his room alone, but now the sunlight was starting to stream through his sheer curtains. He had slept all night and yet felt like he had only gotten an hour sleep. “What a dream.” Todd said to himself chuckling as he ran his hand through his sweat soaked hair. Tristan's POV “NO!” Tristan shouted shooting up from his bed. “Trist.” Odessa whispered running her hand up his shoulder. “It’s just a nightmare, it’s okay. You are okay.” “No.” Tristan snapped running his hand through his hair. “It wasn’t a nightmare Dess.” “Then what was it?” Odessa asked looking over at him with a frown. “A vision.” Tristan turned looking over her. “I need to find Lilith now.” “Why?” “Somethings coming and it’s not good.” Tristan looked at Odessa and she could see the horror and worry written all over his face. Odessa's POV “Let’s go.” She knew that if he said it was serious that it was, and from the look on his face this was something very serious. The two of them quickly hopped out of bed getting dressed in record time. Tossing her hair into a mess bun the two of them sprinted out of the room to find Lilith. The sun was now up which meant that Lilith would more than likely be in the garden. It was her favourite place to go especially during the day. She said she it was the one place she could go to find some form of peace and quiet. Odessa didn’t want to ruin that for her, but whatever Tristan saw in his vision scared him, and if it scared him then it was something big. Rushing through the castle it wasn’t long before the two burst out of the doors leading out back where the garden sat. Not surprising there Lilith was in a long black lace gown crouching down gently running her fingers along the peddles of a red rose. Slowly Lilith looked up her eyes meeting Odessa’s just as a tear ran down her cheek. She knew even though Lilith had put on a brave face like she was doing okay that she was really hurting. She had lost the love of her life, and her destined mate. How do you come back from that? Lilith's POV In a blur Lilith turned from them running the back of her hand along her cheek removing the tear. She didn’t like when the others saw her vulnerable, she didn’t want to seem weak. She needed to be brave and strong for them. When she was satisfied that she had removed any traces of her tears she slowly turned back around. “Lilith, we have a problem?” Tristan halted right in front of her a look of panic on his face. “What do you mean?” Lilith asked. “I had a vision.” Tristan began. “Someone…something is coming and it’s coming for you.” “For me? Why?” “I don’t know, but she’s coming to kill you.” “She?” Lilith asked tilting her head slightly. “Her names Eve.” A man’s voice spoke making Odessa jump. A cloaked man stepped out of the shadows of a nearby tree. His hood pulled over his head heading his face and identity. “Who are you?” Lilith growled her eyes now glowing purple and yellow. “A friend.” “She has enough friends thank you.” Odessa snapped her eyes turning black in warning. “I mean you no harm. I am here to help prepare you for what’s to come.” “What’s coming?” Lilith asked. “The end of the world.” Tristan and the man spoke in unisons. “I saw it Lilith. If she kills you the world will fall. Nothing will be left but ash and bone.” Tristan’s eyebrows pinched together in worry. “Why is she coming after me?” “Because you are strong maybe even stronger than her. You are the chosen one my Queen.” The cloaked man knelt bowing his head to Lilith. “Wait what?” Lilith looked from the hooded man to Tristan and Odessa. “What chosen one. What is going on?” “The ancients long ago had spoken of a prophecy. That a Queen of two side would rise. She would be the one to kill the old one and bring balance to the light and dark. She would bring peace to the world.” The hooded man said standing back up. “And you think I am that chosen one?” Lilith asked pointing to herself. “I know you are.” Lilith shot her arms up in the air turning away from the three of them walking further into her garden. How could she be this chosen one? Why now? Why did this have to happen now? Would she ever catch a break, or would she be doomed to endure one battle after another? Sighing she stopped turning back around to face Odessa, Tristan, and the hooded man. “What now?” Lilith asked gesturing her hands toward the three of them. “I prepare you to fight her.” The man said stepping closer to the three of them but keeping his distance. “What’s your name?” Tristan asked. “Malik.” “Thee Malik?” Tristan choked his eyes wide in surprise. “Who?” Both Lilith and Odessa said in unisons. “He is an elder.” Tristan squeaked before dropping to his knees bowing his head to the hooded man. “That didn’t explain anything Trist.” Odessa said rolling her eyes. “Elder of what?” Lilith said her one eyebrow c****d in suspicion. “In due time we can discuss who I am, but for now we must focus on Eve. She is coming for you.” Malik said stepping closer to them. “We need to get the others and inform them of this Eve.” Lilith commanded her eyes back to normal. “Odessa please escort Malik to a room he can stay in.” Lilith gestured for Malik to go with Odessa. “Tristan get Mic and the others and bring them to the throne room.” Before anyone could respond Lilith was gone leaving only a blur of colour that quickly faded away. Tristan's POV “Alright elder boy let’s go find you a room.” Odessa said making air quotes when she said elder. The two of them headed toward the castle with Tristan just behind them shaking his head at his mate. He couldn’t help but chuckle a little at her behavior toward Malik. Wolves weren’t always taught about the elders, so it was no surprise that she had no clue who Malik was. Tristan’s coven on the other hand had taught them from a young age about the elders, though they had never mentioned this Eve. He wondered why they had never taught them of her. Did they know of her or was this something only the elders knew about?
