The incarnation
~Third Person Narration~
“You have to make sure you never make any mistake,” the master told her.
It had been a very long time. Truly, a very long time about a thousand years. She had gone through countless trials, waiting only for the right moment to come.
And that moment… was now.
“I am sure, Master. I am not going to make any more mistakes,” Sona said as she let the milk flow down her body. This was only one of the many rituals she was required to undergo.
“Gods of the waters, gods of all our ancestors, I call upon you to once again pardon your servant Sona, as she is now known,” the master chanted, continuing the ritual of milk, which was only one of the many ceremonies to be performed that day.
“Okay…..you can now stand up and go towards the pillar,” the master instructed.
Sona rose and began moving toward the pillar. After everything that had happened in her life, she was willing to do anything to achieve her revenge,a revenge against every single one of them who had caused her suffering and downfall.
As she approached, the sight before her was something no ordinary person could endure. It was filled with countless snakes of many kinds. Some venomous, others not.
“You have to get into that water. The more the snakes bite you, the more power you will gain.”
Sona looked at the water, memories flooding her mind torture, betrayal, and the moment she fell into the trap set by her own lover. The hatred she carried surged within her.
Without hesitation, she took one step… then another and entered the water.
Because her body was still regenerating, it lacked strength.
The snakes began biting her, injecting venom deep into her flesh.
“Ouch…” Sona hissed, unable to suppress the pain.
The more they bit her, the more her body trembled. It became harder and harder to endure.
“It’s becoming too hard… I can’t take it,” she cried out to the white-haired man standing nearby.
But he did not move.
Once the ritual had begun, it had to be completed.
“You have to remember everything that happened to you and to your kingdom,” the master said firmly.
Slowly, she calmed herself and endured the pain, allowing the venom to spread through her body. She surrendered completely as her skin began to turn greenish.
The white-haired man noticed immediately and smiled slightly, pleased.
He had completed the first step.
“Welcome, our gods. We shall forever praise you,” he declared, raising his hands to the sky.
“The next step is here,” he said, pointing toward the burning fire.
Whoever managed to emerge from it alive would be granted immense power. But it had been nearly a million years since anyone had survived it.
Those who did… were chosen.
“It is time,” he said.
“Master… I hope I come out alive. I need to do this,” Sona said as she stepped forward toward the lake of fire.
If she could endure four hours within it, she would gain all the power she needed.
Then, she stepped into the flames.
The pain was unbearable, but she endured it.
Slowly, her old skin burned away, revealing something new beneath. A new form. A new self.
Four hours later, she emerged reborn.
Her body had transformed completely… except for one thing.
Her face.
It remained deformed the final step she had yet to complete.
She had come too far to stop now.
“Remember, you are not to open your eyes unless I tell you to,” the master warned her again.
She nodded and moved toward the mirror, where the final ritual would take place.
“God Avati, God Mash, God of Fire, God of Water… come upon the newly formed queen,” the master invoked.
“She needs more of your power—to avenge a common enemy.”
He lifted his staff and struck her head twice.
“Grant her the knowledge she needs to overcome all her trials,” he declared.
Then he rang the bell four times the signal.
She opened her eyes.
“Oh my God…”
Sona gasped.
A beautiful black-haired, blue-eyed girl stared back at her.
It was her.
“You have been given a new face that suits your purpose,” the master said.
And then he disappeared.
His task was complete.
“Remember to use your powers well.”
Those were the last words she heard.
